  1. They have a running back, just not a name Rod Black has had the chance to squeal yet.
  2. Based on the last 2 games, I don't know what an easy pass for Smith is, a shovel pass? Maybe a handoff? He's been missing throws at every length to every part of the field. I'd probably run a crapload of deep routes and hope he hits a handful of them, along with trying to get the run going, but everyone is going to sit on the run and make Smith beat them with his arm. You can't do anything methodical with an arm that inaccurate, it's going to be a boom or bust offence. At best he'll be like Bishop. 1 out of 6 games he'll throw for 400 yards on 15 completions, otherwise just total garbage.
  3. I really doubt that is spin, because if anything that makes him less marketable. Doesn't mean someone wouldn't sign him, but hugely diminishes the "bring him in as a veteran leader" idea anyone might have, basically spins him as a malcontent if that's spin. Puts him down to what he can do on the field, and that probably makes it less likely he finds a better opportunity than the one he's running from.
  4. Still, we have Markett and Suber off the roster currently. We won't be in major trouble without Banks even if Sears gets injured, just have to reshuffle.
  5. After seeing the effort from almost everyone (at least everyone who's on the team) in pre-season and game 1, it's not hard to move on from Banks and this situation says more about Banks than O'Shea and his staff. Everyone has a paddle in the water except for Banks. See ya.
  6. Banks asked for his release because he doesn't like his role after one week. Guess he's not a lead by example guy... Very similar to Armstrong, Banks also balking at being a DI.
  7. It's more that he turned it over throughout the game than not being able to put together the drive to tie the game. If BC turns the ball over twice instead of five times, Edmonton isn't even in that game. And it's not as though Edmonton's "takeaways" were particularly aggressive, mostly balls hitting them right in the numbers. Very sloppy game for BC, but Edmonton didn't show a lot of positives either outside of Bowman looking to be in mid-season form. The best thing they did was not turn the ball over.
  8. I look forward to seeing this Bombers D vs Reilly. As long as they don't let him run/scramble for 150 yards it could be a big day for them. He's not diagnosing anything pre-snap, even against more basic defenses, so that gives the D that extra second to get to him, along with his tendency to try to extend plays all the time and their crap OL. They don't appear to have much of a run game outside of Reilly either. I'm not reading too much into this result. Glenn turned the ball over, that was the real difference in the game, and Edmonton still barely managed to pull it out. He won't be giving it away like that very often.
  9. I'd imagine we'll see a "national" receiver added to the PR soon too.
  10. Yep, and eventually 80% becomes 100%, Watson's probably already there.
  11. I think it was the dropsies Bowman suffered here that had more to do with Bowman's departure. Sure, almost all of his drops were on one route that Lapolice kept sending him on even though he had trouble tracking the ball on that one route. Coach should have found a way to make him useful, ridiculous talent just put to waste here in that 2010 season.
  12. It's too bad Lapolice couldn't get over the fact that Bowman has trouble tracking the ball on corner routes, cause he is a monster on the other 95% of the route tree.
  13. Ochocinco isn't a scrub, Deslauriers is decent and Whitaker is great at catching out of the backfield. Deslauriers has hit 300 yards in his career twice in 7 years.... Jade had 265 in half a season last year.
  14. Reilly has the pocket presence of a young Alex Brink. They won't be able to get him to stop running cause that's his best play.
  15. Reilly holds the ball for a long time and his OL is terrible. Bad combo.
  16. I'm sorry but JJ did everything this organization asked him to do and never complained publicly, ever. I think there were huge 'attitude' problems last year... once the coach visibly quit on the team and the GM vanished. The description came from Wiecek, so take that for what its worth. Considering how little Poblah and Banks have contributed to their respective clubs, this looks like a lose-lose transaction. Huh? Poblah's playing for BC.
  17. They can't judge intent, but that's as intentional as it gets. Cornish will be lucky if his jaw isn't broken.
  18. A flying right hook. Should be an ejection if the back judge was watching.
  19. We need to dress another NI, doesn't necessarily have to be a receiver. We have Pontbriand, Fitzgerald and Volny on offence too as cover beyond the 3 receivers for 2 spots. If Alexander is ready he might take Watson's roster spot vs Ottawa. Kyle Norris would be another option.
  20. Shutout in the first half with a 15 yard penalty on the 2nd half kickoff. Doesn't get much worse.
  21. Als should just run All Go every down and hope they hit 1 or 2 of them.
  22. If the Als are lucky, Smith will reach the upside of Michael Bishop. Have a handful of spectacular games, but inconsistent and inaccurate. I don't believe Marsh is much better either.
  23. His analysis of Jeff Fuller was good. Played 3 games in 2013, only 15 catches. Yes, only. 5 catches a game= 90 a season. Only 90.
  24. Meh, it's football, it is ruthless. I think most players would rather play for a team that puts the guys on the field who most deserve it.
