  1. At least it's not Kabongo...
  2. Is it possible he could have improved after going to Hamilton? I didn't pay attention to him myself so I'm honestly not that sure. O'Neill is a good centre, average OL overall as he can play all interior spots. Hage is also a good centre.
  3. Another guy with a checkered injury history though.
  4. Didn't he miss most of the season with PCS? Ottawa didn't get many guys who are without pretty major question marks, although the talent level isn't bad.
  5. Only if you're in some kind of bizzaro world. They have one starting quality NI in Shologan. Almost all of their OL are damaged goods or failed prospects, a couple are still prospects. Hage and Eppele would stroll into the Bomber O-Line. Hage is done with the knee injury. Eppele will have a long career in a 9 team league, but is he anything more than an average guard. Not yet. You could put Morley in Eppele's jersey and Eppelle in Morley's and you wouldn't know the difference aside from Morley's gut. Hage (when available) is better than anything NI Wpg has on the line. So is Eppele and he's still improving. Equating him with Morley is baffling. Total disservice to Eppele. to wit: a guy who was behind Eppele on our O-Line depth chart (Parenteau) strolled into your line... and you think Eppele wouldn't?? Morley and Swiston were injured when Parenteau dressed as our 6th OL in Edmonton.

  7. Gotta get Butler signed first. Rumour is he'd like to follow Fantuz footsteps back home.
  8. They have depth anyways. Deane wasn't going to start for them and has a titanium rod in his leg, they'd obviously had enough of Fraser as well to leave him exposed behind 14 guys with MacDougall in reserve. Saskatchewan lost both of their interior NI DL. with Foley still with the team, I think they are going import on that DT position. If Foley has to play a majority of the snaps, his effectiveness is going to plummet.

  11. Calgary or Saskatchewan. Hard to believe that Fraser and Capiciotti were available in the 3rd round. Kinda wish we would have made some trade offers on guys like that before the freeze. Is Hage going to report to Ottawa? Ottawa will have the best 2 TE sets in the league anyways. Can never have enough fullbacks.
  12. I only saw two training camp sessions last season, but DiCroce was horrible in both of them. Dropping everything even in the warmup drills. The day after the second one they announced the foot injury. He certainly didn't look like a guy with CFL potential hands-wise.
  13. My thought through this whole "process" as well. If they don't take free agents, they'll have a roster full of crap. Even if they can't get some guys signed, they can cause a whole lot of chaos and end up with some extra draft picks or neg listers by drafting pending free agents. Also doesn't make sense to proclaim the lack of interest in free agents if true, because you just skewed everyone's protection list against you.
  14. Bellefeuille's a worse OC than head coach.
  15. Calgary would be crazy to not protect both kickers IMO. Harder to replace than anyone else they could lose in the second round.
  16. I would say he has gotten better in the last couple of years, but before that there always seemed to be questionable call against the Bombers when we played Montreal. When a game doesn't involve Montreal, I have no problems with him as a ref. Perception, or reality? Most of the botched Montreal-Winnipeg games have been officiated by Murray Clarke.
  17. Griggs didn't show enough to deserve to be protected. I'd protect Anderson and McAdoo ahead of him, Anderson is the most valuable of the 3, finding import pure pass rushers is easier than finding running backs now.
  18. I'd be shocked if Etienne is available in round 3. We literally have no one to protect.
  19. They have Curran. Sherritt has a wonky thumb that limited him or had him out of the lineup most of last season and a huge contract. Would be a risk from Walters perspective, but Neufeld missed nearly an entire season from a broken leg that hasn't healed and was reinjured when he tried to return. I don't believe Ottawa will select him for that reason, and I think they will be starting two import tackles anyways.
  20. Here's my mock protected lists. They assume that what everyone around the league is saying is true, that Ottawa won't select free agents. I didn't bother going to round 3 because quite frankly the players that will be left are not that good. Some of Ottawa's picks in the first two rounds will be marginal players if they truly avoid free agents. 21. Archibald is an import.
  22. What was wrong with Dunn? For a rookie he seemed to play pretty well. Stewart is a guy that I wouldn't write off yet either, I'd say he gets a chance to rebound cause he is that guy with good size that everyone around here seems to be screaming to find. Mainor I wouldn't call a starter either, he's a depth guy and has been for pretty much his whole career here.Stewart really disappointed me last year, I wouldn't be upset if we bring back Stewart, but I certainly wouldn't be upset if we let him walk eitherI couldn't care less if mainor is brought back or not. The guy gets more production as a part timer than he does full time. I'd rather find some new ends Secondary really needs to start turning over. The only guys I'd keep are Washington and Sears, maybe Jovon at a discount to play safety/dime. Washington and Sears can really play anywhere, but I'd put them out at weak half and weak corner, bring in some young guys to play the wide-side of the field.
  23. Cauchy's football IQ is either in the basement, or he's just that physically slow/not physically inclined. Whatever it is, he's pure garbage, good at tackling a guy who's stumbling after a 50 yard play. The only good thing he did for us this season was when they just got sick of watching him trying to get in position to make a play on a pass that they started blitzing him on every passing down.
  24. At least the Gee-Gees and Carleton will have a nice stadium.
  25. The NFL cap is one of the most complicated and convoluted, even more than the NBA. It is based on a 4 year period, current one is 13-16, then 17-20 under this current CBA. Teams can be over in one season as long as they make it up by the end of the window. You can be under one year and over the same amount the next, no penalty, you can carryover cap space. Floor works the same way. Nobody would ever implement a truly hard cap in North American pro sports because the penalty would potentially taint a fanbase. Every league has basically the same penalties dealing with losing draft picks, fines. The toughest penalty probably is the NHL where they would go back and tear up the roster in order of player being acquired to make the team compliant.
