Carter Getting His Shot Tonight
JuranBoldenRules replied to voodoochylde's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The BC League is substantially better in overall talent than the PFC. The PFC have the Hilltops and sometimes another team, recently the Colts. I don't really take the Hilltops as an indicator of the overall strength of the league. Worth noting too that many Manitobans who end up playing CIS take a trip out to play at least a couple of years of junior in BC. It will be interesting to see if Karhut can repair the reputation of the Rifles and keep more of the top players in Manitoba. -
You think they didn't figure out that Stewart was going to play SAM well before Kent was cut?
-
If Hefney has lost a step, how many has Jovon lost? 3?
-
I think it's "leave when a better deal comes along."
-
This is a wayyyy overstated phenomenon. The only way that type of information would be useful would be if a guy was in on practice the week of the game, was cut the day before the game and picked up by the other team knowing the game plan and anything out of the ordinary that might be coming. Especially for what a guy like Hefney would know. Defences (Burke especially) don't use that many coverages and everyone has the film to see what teams are doing anyways.

Teams can keep a draft pick on their PR that doesn't count against the PR limit of 7. Sorry.

Don't be surprised when he's ineffective. Buck isn't a pocket passer. He doesn't make quick decisions, nor does he have a quick release. He's had the two worst seasons of his career (2011, 2012) while trying to become a pocket passer.
-
Our OL is made infinitely worse by QB's like Pierce and Brink who too often become statues in the pocket, weak pre-snap reads and no capacity to make quick decisions and throws.

What issues? They needed more space for a NHL team. That's a pretty reasonable adaptation to make. This stadium opened with inadequate press facilities for what it is being used for. TSN and CJOB had to complain to get their broadcast booths done properly, one of the added costs that pushed it to $200 million from $190 million.
-
The stadium has always been cheap. It is the cheapest professional stadium per seat in North America. That was actually a selling point when the controversy over the government loan was going on.
-
Same question people with physical disabilities are asking on the news today. Guess this kind of stuff is what you get when you build the cheapest pro football stadium and don't use one of the firms that actually specializes in stadiums (Populous, 360, Sink Combs Dethlefs (designers of MTS Centre and Shaw Park)).

Billy P is also a non-counter. We can keep him on the PR and not have him take up a spot since he's a 2013 pick.

Burke Unhappy With Work Of Veterans
JuranBoldenRules replied to voodoochylde's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Ritchie had his players back though, almost to a fault. Not so sure with Burke. Just for the relationship between two people the way he is apt to pop off and blame in the media is bad, but as a professional coach it is something he needs to fix. Keep it behind closed doors and 1 on 1 as much as possible. I'm sure the majority of people wouldn't be happy with the negative parts of their performance evaluation being publicized by their boss repeatedly. -
Press Conference: Traffic Woes
JuranBoldenRules replied to voodoochylde's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
And how many tickets do the Argos sell? I'll be there no matter what to pay $650 a year for seats where I can't see anything, but people who don't really follow the Bombers closely and are going to maybe a couple games a year will be turned off if it is a hassle to get to the game. The Bombers need those people to fill 33,500 seats and remain viable. -
Based on the way Burke is running camp, if you aren't playing you're probably in pretty good shape.
-
I wonder what the expectations are for our offence in game 1 if the starters aren't being given a chance to work the kinks out for at least a half in the 2nd pre-season game. Unless this is in preparation for some kind of 2 QB system where Goltz is gonna play or a move away from Buck sooner than later it makes zero sense. If we are that afraid of Buck getting injured than he shouldn't be our starter to begin with.

The NHL would put up a temporary press box at field level.

Press Conference: Traffic Woes
JuranBoldenRules replied to voodoochylde's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
An hour or a bit more. Is it really feasible to expect people to leave their house earlier than 5:30 to see a 7:00 kickoff in Winnipeg? The team on the field better be great if they expect to sellout. -
Press Conference: Traffic Woes
JuranBoldenRules replied to voodoochylde's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
That's probably true, but that is a major problem for the Bombers in the future that will lead to empty seats. If you can't leave your house and be in the stadium within an hour or so, a lot of casual fans and even season ticket holders won't bother. -
Press Conference: Traffic Woes

Some. Our rapid transit is really only useful for people living in Downtown and River Heights right now. Extending it south down Pembina will bring a few more people online. In terms of having the system developed east, north and west, you are looking at decades. Should be great for Winnipeg Stadium 4.0. -

It's a former golf course. Used by no one, waiting to be redeveloped most likely into some sort of mixed use residential commercial, but with no plans for the near future.
