Ok Juran - name me a sport that does? In Basketball the teams in the west are better. In the NFL - every year, there's usually one or two teams better than a wild card from the other league (AFC or NFC). In Hockey, West is much better than the east in the lower half and even mid-tier teams. It is what it is. Even in Baseball it's bad - so bad they adopted a 1 game playoff for four more teams (look at the Blue Jays Division where Boston/New York dominated for years - and look at what happened to the interest in the Jays). Just because we are not fans of Hamilton, Toronto, Montreal, or Ottawa doesn't mean we can close our eyes. These fans need a 'chance' and right now, despite all their injuries and struggles, all the Eastern teams are in it. If were an Al's fan for example, and it was a one division league, I'd already be saving my money for what Hab games I could attend. Think I'd go see the Al's play? Not a chance. Leave it as it is - and I'd go one step further and eliminate the cross over - as if you want to know/understand why Ottawa 'started' failing (horrible owners were the final nail(s) for sure) it's because when they went to the cross over - no chance. This year you know it's second place race already and that's pathetic as it is. Might want to read what I wrote again....

Too drastic of a reaction to a freak occurrence. When the best 6 teams in the league by record don't make the playoffs under this format twice, then it's time to talk about changing the format. We don't even know if that will end up happening in this season yet.

Agreed. Especially if he doesn't have experience doing it at a high level. Much like catching a punt, taking a handoff is a skill unto itself, especially with the zone read stuff where the QB may or may not be giving the RB the ball.

The longer it takes for Dressler and/or Sheets to return to the CFL, the easier it will be for the Riders will to sign them, mostly because they won't have to pay them a whole lot this season. Now someone with cap space could write them a $100,000 cheque potentially and claim it against the 2014 cap. Riders probably couldn't compete financially with that.

My first thought is that these were designed for the Argos, were rejected, then they put a W on it to make it a "signature" jersey for the Bombers. Hope the league and teams didn't spend too much on these. I'd honestly be disappointed if I were Wade Miller or Cohon.

Jerseys don't make football fans, an entertaining product on the field and at the stadiums does. This is a cash grab plain and simple. you don't think some 5-10 year olds are going to think it's cool and want to go to a game? I don't. If you are relying on uniforms to draw kids to a sport, you're beyond screwed. They are trying to sell stuff to the captive audience they already have, and possibly get some extra media attention on both sides of the border.

Sheets will catch on somewhere down south if the Raiders cut him. Wonder how Dressler feels. He doesn't appear to be getting much of a shot to make the Chiefs. Probably lost about 6 figures with the Riders already this season just to tryout for the Chiefs. He does have practice roster eligibility though, so if someone who liked him from his CFL days wants to PR him, they can.

Yeah they could try a squibber, but those can backfire bad on you. Kick it out of bounds and you're setting the team up with a better hail mary shot A kick that bounces a couple times to the returner gives the cover team a couple extra seconds to get down field, zero chance of a return. The kicker doesn't even have to place it well. He'd have to make a catastrophic mistake to make it worth the risk for the Als to run time off with 12 seconds left.

Forde calls that a mix up on the pass blocking? I call it the perfect stunt by the Als against a slide block to the opposite side of the formation.

Huge hold on a blitzer on the offensive right side by whoever the extra blocker was (Messam?) on that big play to Bagg, pretty clear in real time.

Some pretty egregious holds being allowed in the first couple possessions of this half. Riders got a nice play to Getzlaf on a platter from Billy Parker, who decided to cover the paint on the field rather than a receiver in zone with his partner being taken deep by another route.
