  1. Ouellette is trash. Could have spent that money on a good player.
  2. Kind of stupid to kick the PAT there and not go for 2 and the 9 point lead.
  3. They really need to make Edmonton's down and distance colour on the score bug different than the colour for a penalty flag.
  4. Liked the Rider receiver yelling for the facemask on his own guys tackle of the Edmonton DB with the pick. Forgot which team he plays on for a few seconds?
  5. I understand. It's stupid. I wonder at what point management/team president intervenes. I don't care if you want to put 12 Canadians on the field....this roster rule allows more flexibility and there's zero downside. Could spend 5 minutes each week to figure out who it is. Abdication of duty for whoever is setting the roster to not do it. They wouldn't submit a roster short a DI. It's basically the same thing.
  6. Yeah they'll play who they want for whatever sets. The rule just gives them even more flexibility. Say you have 1-2-3-4 injuries in a game. Gives you the ability to basically put 12 on the field especially on D where they are only "starting" 1 Canadian really. It's insane to just completely ignore it. They could basically run the defense without even thinking about the ratio in terms of their sub packages.
  7. This ref looks surprised that he got on the field.
  8. Man Litre didn't look good taking that snap. Came up really high. Wouldn't get more than a yard like that.
  9. BLM lost his fastball. Only has a sinker left.
  10. Could easily use it on Jefferson with the American DL we have dressed. Designate him and for 22 snaps when he's out there you can have an all-American D.
  11. Spotter doing a great job when the guy in distress runs another play and then gets pulled.
  12. Lotta fear in the playcalling in this game. Shitty QB's.
  13. Can only drink beer at McMahon tonight and each team gets one bucket of water for post game showers.
  14. Honestly better than something with a joint or collarbone. He'll be back by Labour Day.
  15. The guy can still sub for any American. Could "start" Bridges and designate Alexander behind Ford/Hallett/Gauthier. He can sub for any of those guys for 22 snaps in the game and sub for Bridges (or any other American) the entire game if you want. The depth charts don't really matter just for those designated players. Teams don't have to play the first snap with the 12 guys on O or D on that chart as a "starter." Tim White is one for Hamilton. Their biggest star.
  16. Look at their depth chart and Hamilton’s
  17. If the Bombers want to figure out how to use the Designated American they should look at Calgary's depth chart this week. There's absolutely no reason to not use this. Even if you don't plan on using it to the limit you increase your flexibility in case of injury(ies) immensely.
  18. Died in the second half. By 4th Q non-factor and Bombers had any wind advantage anyway. At field level the uprights were going pretty significantly north to south in first half. When Collaros dropped that bomb for Schoen that was picked he was into the wind.
  19. Pretty damn windy last night. ZC has regularly struggled with that playing with any ball and our offense has never really done a great job of making the adjustments for it. Kind of downfield or nothing.
  20. A lot of those issues with allowing the Als to flood on cover are related to Mitchell not attacking the ball. Then everyone is anticipating him actually grabbing the ball but he's still waiting and the Als are all right at the line of No Yards ready to drop on him.
  21. New slogan, "our balls are chippier." All they need to do is have balls set aside for kicking. NFL has forever.
  22. They were 100% attacking zone at some points. On several plays that went for first downs Ford just dropped into his deep third and watched the rest of the play happen in front of him. We don't know what their keys are, but I assume they don't want guys to drop right out like that when the route from the slot is in breaking in a 3 man route. At that point in any Cover 3 I've been a part of the corner is reading deep outside breaking route (none) and down to the wideout, not keep giving up depth for no reason. The half has to cover that route to the safety and the SAM would trail the inside slot/tight end either way. It was basically a free first down once they ran it a couple times and realized Ford was lost. Then they just played with his eyes all night, short and deep. Get him worried about smoke screens, run the setup to give that look and go over top of him. Hopefully comes back with lessons learned from this experience because he hasn't played much actual football since he left U Sports.
  23. For all the hand wringing on the depth chart.... Wilson played MLB. Gauthier barely played D. Wilson was godawful and got burned by Fajardo scrambles multiple times. A couple times it was hard to understand what he saw but I have to believe he was worried about abandoning coverage to track Fajardo...but at least a couple time Fajardo was already over the line. Karamoko took the most snaps at WIL....the guy listed as 3rd on the depth chart. Cole took some at both WIL and SAM, played about 3/4 snaps. Almost half of Fajardo's of passes were targeted at Ford. So Montreal really liked that matchup. Which is not a typical one to attack with a pop gun arm QB to the field. And almost half of their total offense and two TD's came from those targets. Expect that to be attacked by everyone until there's a change or Ford turns it around. Athleticism counts for nil if you're watching the ball/covering turf and standing on flat feet.
  24. I think he's let a group take over for sure. There's kind of a "do no wrong" crew. I think it was ok when they were at their peak and could self-regulate with the right voices. We've lost a lot of those voices though. Personalities like Lawler and Jefferson aren't fit to be those guys, can't lead by example so their words are pretty hollow when the cards are on the table. I agree that there's quite a mess they'll have to manage pretty quick. O'Shea wants the players to run the room but this group needs more from him until they are (maybe) ready for that. Didn't help having 96 guys in camp as of 6 days ago either. This team needs to find an identity and mesh. They've had two practices.
  25. I thought Haba was pretty good, lots of good pressure that killed plays for the Als. Jefferson plays really shitty against any QB who has an inkling to leave the pocket, like Fajardo. And last night was just another example of that. Very undisciplined on rush, doesn't finish plays. Over pursues and leaves that lane for the QB to escape. Needs a major come to football Jesus moment in terms of realizing what he needs to do to make this team better. And it's not chase his own numbers, yell at the stat man when you're down 3 TD's that you tipped a ball. He's the leader now. He's 33. Not 23. Time to walk the walk and not be a complete clown.
