MBT is 100% right on the short weeks. Even with our high school team had a Friday game then a Wednesday game. 4 of the 5 season-ending injuries we’ve had this season happened in the Wednesday game on the short week. Need that recovery time but also the prep time to be prepared to play the most physical sport. Players should be fighting for a minimum of 6 days between games and league needs to figure it out. Season is almost 22 full weeks now so should be able to sort it out to get 18 games in on 6 days rest each minimum.

He’s been on and off active roster since Banjo Bowl 2022 and gets passed by the new crop every training camp as a vet now. My expectations are subterranean for him as a regular contributor on D.

Not in this defense. In one with a traditional read the eyes, read the ball type safety maybe. Even then he's not making any plays downhill from a weakside LB. We've seen Griffin, Jones and Ayers all be pretty solid thumpers from that spot. Wilson and Cole have been awful when in there this season. D turned a corner when Griffin got that role due to injuries both to support better pass coverage and just be disruptive.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Notree playing lots depending on Griffin's ability to play. Cole...we're still waiting. He's lost the job to every other American LB they've brought in and/or kept coming out of camp since he's been here. Couple picks over 3 years, down after down not really making plays.

BC was struggling with Adams too. They were on a 3 game losing streak when Rourke came in. They had games against Edmonton and Calgary where Adams was hit more than a dozen times in each game. His last start was the one against us where they couldn't get a first down.

The only way I could see a DB winning MOP is if the guy returned kicks too and had like 10 TDs overall on kick/INT returns.

There's an award that is only for defensive players. A DB didn't even win that award until 2011. There is not any award that is only for offensive players. MOP is effectively offensive player of the year.

Mace still hasn't figured out how to kneel out a win. 1st and 10 with a minute left and they are running plays.

Everyone is doing same thing to Rourke/BC. Rush 3, 2 out wide to maintain 1 on 1 vs tackles on edge, one guy at nose, drop 9...sometimes sent a hammer or LB. Move Rourke off his first read and watch him die a slow death in the pocket.

Biggest thing is that he's got two major surgeries/rehabs happening. Likely not going to play next year until maybe after Labour Day. So 2/3 of next season likely scrubbed. Will someone sign him? Will he ever have the capability to effectively run RPO stuff coming off injury and not fall apart immediately as he did this season? Will he just transition into coaching? He will be coveted on both sides of the border...obviously big $$$ potential in NCAA/NFL

Garbutt is ok but they need someone who can rip under a tackle and disrupt the pocket. We basically play basketball defense with our front, try to disrupt passing lanes but never get after the QB off the snap.

If you hear the way Collaros talks about Schoen I doubt they ever part ways until Collaros is done.

Stubler would run a zone dog and blitz LB's but he was a base cover 3 guy. That was the hallmark of those 00's Argos teams. Teams that challenged that D vertically could succeed which was basically the difference when the Bombers played them in that era. If our QB was willing to make some throws into those zones where you'd get 1 on 1 looks. Everything intermediate was match coverage. Bombers had the receivers to do it with guys like Armstrong. Stubler basically invented guys like Jefferson too. He's not a Don Matthews disciple.

Would be hilarious if BC ends up having to play in Sask and then here to get to their home Grey Cup.

With what we're getting from Whitehead if we sent 9 after every punt and just had the first DB back to the ball fall on it we'd probably net about the same over 18 games if we blocked a punt every 3-4 games and sped up the punter a bit.

That would be a disaster. Especially if they are on that track without having permanent GM and coach in there. No one credible will take those jobs if they are saddled with a QB who can't pass.

Combination of any 2 outcomes between Bomber wins and Sask/BC losses. Sask and BC play each other so only one of them can win all their games potentially. If the winner of that game loses any other game they can't finish better than 2nd.

Wilson and Wheatfall are signed for 2 more seasons. They can only go to NFL....and I don't see either being anywhere near that level. I think they keep them all personally. Going to be a lot of money opening up on D. K Wilson becomes a rookie deal, Bighill opens up 80-85 k. Between those two guys there's money to add someone in the HB/SAM/S region or a top rush end.
