  1. Always had guys in the pipeline though. Have 7 guys signed right now, 3 Americans, 4 Canadians. Flipping around 2 spots, didn't have any development guys last year. Would be really lucky to get a guy out of draft who can play right away. Top 7-8 OL guys are all NFL prospects. Not always easy to plug American guys in either. Think there will be a few moves in this position group yet.
  2. I think Gray is one I would have kept. Draft isn't really there this year. We don't have much depth there at all and will be changing 2 spots for sure. Any injuries could quickly be a disaster. We have two starters in mid to late 30s, another early 30s as well so injury risk is there. We will need bodies.
  3. I honestly don't know why guys like Walker who are likely to be below average salary and don't really have a huge opportunity to ever be more than that would sign up here and not go to UFL.
  4. Holm is in his option year. He has a window for NFL.
  5. He has no window until his contract expires. BC hasn't released him.
  6. We 100% will. Younger if from the Toronto tree which is a lot more Cover 3, 2 high looks. Less match coverage, doubt we'll see any Cover 0, which is basically what Hall ran the enter 4th Q in the last Grey Cup. Halfbacks and SAM will be a lot more of a playmaker role than a cover role I'd bet. Safety will be more defined role, less roving.
  7. It's funny all the hand wringing about cap space here. Look at BC and Ottawa. Total ******* mess.
  8. There's the odd case where guys started later or haven't played a lot. Alexander has had all the big injuries. He hasn't really been explosive at all since 2021. Once guys start having the big joint injuries it happens more and more. No one can beat that cycle once they start having knee/hip issues.
  9. They need to seriously think about how many 30+ guys are hanging on here. But if it came down to it, I'd take Jeffcoat every day of the week over Alexander...even if he only played half the season.
  10. I don't think anyone will use him on offense at all. He's shown that he has very limited ability as a receiver. He got to start a run of games here with some injuries and could do nothing. Even McCrae was far better on offense. He's a pure returner. Injuries are going to be the issue with getting paid for him.
  11. Some decent DL available in Global Draft, mostly nose types. Hope we take advantage. If we can grab a guy that can play like 20-25 snaps that would be huge. Canadian Draft a bit sparse this year when you see the guys coming to combine. Everyone else after NFL tryouts. Not many guys in there that will play right away.
  12. They've added several return candidates. In the past few years they haven't.
  13. Let's just say if Richmond was such a hot heap of blocking power he wouldn't have been sitting here for 4 years waiting. Think of all the import tackles that have come and gone from the league. Teams using 3-4-5 guys in a season. And you just keep cycling through guys until you find the one.
  14. This might be the biggest overstatement in headline form of the year so far. Guy who never played and more likely than not couldn't play leaves a hole? He's no better than anyone they bring up from US for camp.
  15. UFL camp rosters set on 14th, camp starts on 24th. Think a few guys might be headed that way.
  16. Real life came into play. Good on the Bombers. Guy has been so-so and has a bum wheel. Look for bargain vet and have 5-6 guys compete in camp.
  17. Stanback does not seem like a good fit in BC to me. Would prefer a guy who can do anything in pass game, including blocking, if I were them. He's not good enough with the ball to be shitty otherwise anymore. Think of how much Montreal used Antwi to cover up on pass downs the past 2 seasons. BC will need another back.
  18. That's not a position I'd care to spend at unless the player is exceptional. Thurman isn't. The difference between him and say a Malik Clements is negligible in terms of winning.
  19. Highest paid DB in league until J Peters signs. Don't think Adeleke will get there on this contract.
  20. Ronnie Brown out of Sheperd is a pretty nuts D2 guy too Bombers have signed for camp. Senior season,8.5 yards per carry , 9 100 yard rushing games, 3 200 plus yard rushing game, exactly 3000 all purpose yards 24 total TDs in 15 games, so 200 yards per game average. Junior season 9 ypc too with fewer touches. Not big, not fast but fast enough 4.6 range but did everything. Runs routes too, not just static receptions, catching on the run, downfield.
  21. Have the guy from Rutgers/Wisconsin too who is a return threat and played all over offensively, slot, tailback, even wildcat QB. Piled up yards offensively and generally. Would be nice if going import tailback to have a backup who can play some receiver too, return punts. Would be nice even if Oliviera is back to have a guy like that in a DI spot. Grant could run the odd jet sweep but he really wasn't a competent receiver or a guy who could take the ball from tailback spot...or block from backfield.
  22. We've basically lost a OL each year from this group either retirement or free agency since Bryant came in. I expect them to add a veteran interior type guy (Gray or another) and have a lot of competition for RT, some experienced some less experienced. I don't foresee any draft picks being immediate players this year at OL aside from guys who go south. That would be a bonus to land someone like that. Can't count on it.
