  1. Cottoy and McInnis are basically uncoverable and huge mismatch issues. Those guys and Wolitarsky are best at that basically H back who blocks but also lines up really anywhere kind of role.
  2. Remember how Harris was doing here in 16 before they sorted out the OL by moving Bond in to guard, and Hardrick stepped up at RT? O'Shea was about to get fired. That's kind of the danger for Oliviera. And contracts aren't guaranteed. His income outside of football is way larger here. He's a celebrity here. He might be in Sask too. Otherwise he'll be a nobody until he produces. I don't see more than 3 teams giving him a call on Day 1 including the Bombers. Toronto, Sask, Winnipeg. And Toronto obviously wants to keep their own guy and if they do probably won't be interested.
  3. They gotta work on screen game and other quick stuff this year. Lawler is great at it. Will absolutely bind defenses in combination with their and Demski's ability to get downfield too.
  4. A lot like Vernon Adams. Low arm talent. Did alright in Air Raid stuff just reading pre snap where the safeties were and going to prescribed route. Didn't play much in USFL but looked extremely overmatched when he did. Kind of guy that could be the short-yardage specialist if he picks up the wedge play. Ran some zone read stuff so has some ability with option. Definitely a guy that's been on CFL radar forever. He took over for injury as a sophomore and then junior year got Eastern Washington to the FCS Championship Game where they got stomped by NDSU. Basically if he ends up being as good as Prukop he's done alright. Don't expect him to be slinging it out of the pocket up here, but I guess we'll see. I don't see Bailey being a guy getting a lot of calls day 1 outside of Ottawa. Bailey was huge for Brown. What did he have, 13 or 14 catches with Brown last season? Like 1/3 of his season total. But I'm not sure Ottawa will pay him either. I think like a high 90s with some bonuses kind of deal would be the ceiling for him. Just hasn't really stepped into that #2 type receiver role whenever it's opened up for a few games.
  5. A lot off scrambles though, right? And teams are rolling coverage on him so there's guys nearby below and above. Schoen's averages are higher with Lawler last season, and his games with Brown are well below his average. I think his connection with Collaros will probably keep him here really. I could see Bailey and BOLO following Brown. I'm just not sure anyone will commit to Bailey being more than a 3-4 type receiver.
  6. Who exactly do you think we got from reputation? Bailey hit the market and didn't have much for offers. For an example, a guy like Bane was already getting better offers than him last year. A guy like Alexander has been kind of a mess with injury and diminishing returns. Didn't have much of a market. Everyone got paid. Brown needs to play.
  7. Fuuuck with that explosiveness wonder if he'd be willing to convert to rush end and start eating 8 meals a day.
  8. It’s kind of a double draft because a bunch of U Sports guys deferred. But there could be some 3rd and 4th year guys eligible who defer to 2025 as well in the next few months.
  9. Totally disagree. Hatcher is probably out for the season, maybe back in October. Hollins is pretty clearly a third receiver. When Rhymes went out they used McInnis and Cottoy a lot more. Hollins is good not great at getting separation, more of a zone buster playing off others. I think BC will be all over Schoen. I'm not really sure why anyone should care about the 6'8 31 year old receiver who hasn't made a team since D2. If you had a draft of all CFL players, Lawler or Begelton would probably be the first receiver off the board. They are the only two guys with the full route tree and just crazy dangerous with the ball.
  10. Not sustainable if the QB is garbage yes. And you can’t draft and develop linemen. And you overpay a bunch of free agents without being able to backfill your roster. Yes. Collaros deal is fine. The SMS limit is higher and he’s making over 100k less than those guys were. The only way you do anything with his deal is if you’re willing to trade or release him.
  11. Not sure how you figure that. A guy on a practice roster activated for less than half a season in the NFL made more than Collaros will. BLM and Reilly made more in 19 than Collaros will in 24. There's no reason for Collaros to even entertain the conversation.
  12. Not too worried about it. He stayed at QB and was working on throwing mechanics a lot more. Only thing I'd be worried about with a guy who is 5 years older is willingness to run recklessly like he did in 18 and 19.
  13. Think Sask could be in there too depending on how they feel about Dolegala. Brown will probably cost a bit more hard money but they should be able to make that up easily with some of the vets they are giving up on D. Only one of Brown or Harris would be able to hit significant playtime bonuses. And if Harris goes on 6 game again it's way easier to manage. Either way I think Sask will have a backup who is relatively experienced and in that 200k plus range.
  14. Still under $400,000 if he hits every bonus. Could offer Brown almost the exact same deal and be spending the same as Winnipeg or Toronto are on QB's.
  15. And Streveler would be a perfect fit again to balance that out. Hope it happens. Collaros struggles with quick game and obviously isn't a threat to run. Both things that make him easier to defend when weather is a factor.
  16. Or are they far better players than anyone on the Jets who would get that money anywhere? The Leafs haven't overpaid. They just haven't used their assets to build the best roster. They really needed to move Marner or Nylander to turn that into D/goalie.
  17. Augustine has barely played since a couple games in 2019 in anything but garbage time. Not even worth bringing up to try to make a point.
  18. I'd be somewhat on board if the team that scored the TD got the option for those kickoffs...or ball at 40 for other team. After a FG let the receiving team decide. Otherwise up to the last 3 mins of the game you penalize the team that just scored if they want to maybe try an onside or gain field position.
  19. Oliviera is at least a couple levels above Butler and Mills. And Canadian which is a big deal when they are struggling to fill OL. So play another cheaper and likely better import OL on the interior and pay the Canadian back,
  20. US RB's are getting better as the years go by and more schools are running Spread type stuff in pass protection and receiving, but that can be a huge issue depending what kind of offense they've played coming up. CFL is a lot different.
  21. The issue at his position is the likelihood of injury and availability of replacements. The guys at that position turn over in all leagues every 3ish years. Nobody wants to commit a ton of money when most years teams need 2-3 or more guys to get through a season at that spot. The only place I could see him be the kind of missing piece is BC. But they will have to spend a lot to keep their D somewhat intact.
  22. Because his deal is less than half of any #1 QBs make? He took a big cut in hard money to keep off-season bonus. Could still pull a Durant on them and join TSN.
  23. Edmonton won't trade Ford. They can't afford to sign a backup QB if they do.
  24. On the assumption Brown would be the starter. Hard money to hard money. BLM's deal is a chunk up front and enough play time incentives that I sort of wonder if they told him he's the starter to get him to take the pay cut. That or he knows he wouldn't get signed if they cut him. Either way if BLM isn't playing his contract is only a touch more than a basic veteran backup deal. I think cheapest anyone gets Brown is 3 years 1 M hard money with bonuses and incentives to push him toward 500 K per year. Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Hamilton are the teams with the cash. Calgary would trade Maier if they get Brown. And I think Ottawa would gladly take Maier and the $105,000 guaranteed for basically nothing if they don't get Brown. Edmonton could come off the top rope with a crazy 1 year deal to duel with Ford.
