Here's the Argos depth chart for tomorrow's game: http://argonauts.ca/depthchart/game/depthid/10079 Coombs will be the starting RB but no Ricky Ray. Without Ray we may have a chance.

At the end of practice, the O-line were doing their now regular gassers. Today the Quarterbacks joined in. Drew Willy is our fastest QB but he only managed to beat Knapp by a nose. Another point. I thought I noticed Volney getting a lot of reps today. This might be a way of getting an extra import receiver in on obvious passing downs.

Main Camp Day 1 (Reports and Discussion)
Fred C Dobbs replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It's a double session. The second one starts at 11:05 which is when I'm going to turn up. -
So, he was picked up by the Stamps a couple of days ago: Don't know what to make of this. On the one hand it's tempting to crow about how the Stamps are picking up our cast-offs but, on the other, if he makes the team it could be embarassing.

Rookie Camp Day 1 (Reports and Discussion)
Fred C Dobbs replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I noticed him sprinting down the far sideline twice. And yeah, did he ever look fast. One of the guys I was sitting with pointed out that one of the things that was different this year from previous years, was that they were practicing the waggle at the beginning of practice. None of the American kids has ever had to do this before so it's good that they're being taught how to do it. -
Best guess at the 44 man roster projection

me too. me three. Rookie Camp starts May 28, two weeks from today! -
Good interview with Walters where he talks about his thoughts the morning after: http://iphone.tsn.ca/tsnpodcasts/1290_BigShow051414KyleWalters.mp3

Overpaying? What rounds are you talking about here. They wanted the guy and had to move up to get him. Give Walters a break! O'Shea was happy with it: http://www.tsn.ca/winnipeg/story/?id=452139

O'Shea was very impressive at yesterday's Fan Forum. I think we're going to see an inspired group of players this year. And we won't see guys on the sidelines yukking it up behind the Coach's back.

Now that's interesting. Looks like we're well positioned to get a starting center after all.

Quinn Smith Tests Positive for Steroids
Fred C Dobbs replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Here's Smith's account: http://ww2.canadafootballchat.com/cfl-combine-drug-test-failed/ And the CFL's reaction: http://cfl.ca/article/concordias-quinn-smith-tests-positive-for-banned-substance -
Actually Pat Tracey is a DC in CIS... not sure how hard it is to transition to CFL I don't think we want that Pat Tracey as our DC (there's a Wiki bug). The CIS Pat Tracey might do OK: https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/cfl-55-yard-line/bombers-add-big-name-hire-pat-tracey-st-195607410.html

This is very surprising. I had high expectations for McGrath. *sigh* I just don't know what to think about Etchevery and his defense.
-
Just announced: http://bellmediapr.ca/Network/TSN/Press/More-Sports-More-Choice I like the sound of this. Hopefully it will remove the problem of slow golf tournaments interferring with the start of CFL games. And maybe we'll get to see some CIS games.
-
But this may be more of a worry to Rider fans: So they may only have peanuts to pay this year. And you know the old saying "You pay peanuts, you get monkeys."
-
More on playbooks: http://www.bluebombers.com/article/the-etcheverry-difference The way I remember it, Etch's defense was fun to watch. Hope that's still true.
-
And we'll just have to hope that Alex Suber can pick up his nose tackle responsibilities pretty darn quick.

Bombers sign QB Robert Marve (unannounced)
Fred C Dobbs replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Is that similar to championship Austria or Romania? *grumble* *grumble* stupid autocorrect.... LOL and here I thought you were drawing a subtle analogy between the Bombers and the Golden Team, Hungary's National Football team of the 1950's: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Team More recently, though, like the Bombers, Hungary's current team has been a flop. -
Interesting conversation just on twitter: Good to see Banks alert and on top of things.

This Widener place can't be much of a university if they don't even know how to use Google.
-
I think that's part of the reason why Walters wants three startable NI receivers.

Matthias Goossen or Pierre Lavertu?
Fred C Dobbs replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Only Bomber fans. Hamilton fans moan about the Gaydosh vs. Edam thing. Hindsight is always ... . -
This was written a couple of weeks ago, at the time of the Korey Banks trade, but it's still worth reading: http://www.theprovince.com/sports/Lions+release+Korey+Banks+part+familiar+regeneration+process/9459266/story.html Things seem to have actually degenerated since then.

Sheets gone too, eh. I'm finding it difficult to conceive of a team having a worse off-season than the Riders are having so far this season. After the way that the arrogant twerps have been slagging us for so many years, I can't help but love it.
-
In his press conference today, Walters mentioned that there are two guys coming into the draft who have played center and who the Bombers have their eyes on. One is obviously Lavertu and I think the other is a kid from BC who's name escapes me. Anyway, no matter who Ottawa drafts first it looks like our #2 pick goes on a center.
