  1. So far Lowell Ulrich's article is the only source for this. I tweeted him yesterday and asked where he heard about it. Still waiting for a response.
  2. This should be interesting:
  3. Looks like BC is going after Khari: News1130 Sports‏@News1130Sports2h The #BCLions now looking for a "fresh, young" offensive co-ordinater. News1130 Sports‏@News1130Sports23m Have learned the #BCLions have asked for permission to talk with #Roughriders qb coach Khari Jones about their o-c vacancy. News1130 Sports‏@News1130Sports22m There's the "fresh, young" face they are looking for. This after LaPolice and Cortez no longer interested in #BCLions o-c job. News1130 Sports‏@News1130Sports20m The #Roughriders have given Jones permission to talk with the #BCLions. He talks with B.C today or tomorrow. My comment: Boo! Khari belongs back here.
  4. Sounds like Higgins is more than a little pissed off about how this went down: http://www.calgaryherald.com/sports/Higgins+annoyed+notion+quit+Stampeders/9258044/story.html
  5. From the Ottawa Sun: http://www.ottawasun.com/2013/06/08/ottawa-redblacks-president-jeff-hunt-writes-why-the-name-was-chosen-for-the-cfl-team I thought it was a dumb name until I read that article. Then it made more sense.
  6. I haven't liked Lawless this much since ... ever:
  7. Good report on this in Kirk Penton's blog: http://blogs.canoe.ca/bomberbeat/football/mcmanus-goveia-walters-and-more/ He ends with:
  8. News1130 Sports‏@News1130Sports 35m Have learned that Winnipeg gm Kyle Walters is in Regina today interviewing Khari Jones & George Cortez. #CFL Looks like Walters is doing his due diligence.
  9. Yes, you have to be positive. It's still possible that we'll have a better team than the Riders before they manage to win more Grey Cups than Queen's University. Go TiCats go!
  10. That would be nice. Been missing that guy's posts but, I thought, maybe 'that's just me'.
  11. I asked Darren Cameron about how long the CFL media blackout is and he replied: That's 10 days before the Grey Cup.
  12. It's worse than that. Remember these guys:
  13. In my lifetime the Bombers have won 7 Grey Cups. Six of them were won by Head Coaches who, when we hired them, were Rookies.
  14. It wasn't one of these, was it? http://forums.cfl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=86499'>Breaking News --) Tim Burke and staff will be fired Monday http://forums.cfl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=86501'>Breaking News --) BB set to hire KHARI JONES for Head Coach http://forums.cfl.ca/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=86521'>Matt Dunigan to join Blue Bombers - source
  15. Gimme a break. They are buddies and DB works out in his gym for free. Fish hasn't worked in a professional team setting in 10 years -- and in that field, being current matters. Don't believe all tire-pumping you read. Its friends helping friends. LOL - Is there ever a post from you that doesn't pour out negative energy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIQPkCR4E6k
  16. Paredes improved a lot after he started getting tutored by Don Sweet (aka 'the kick doctor'): http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Football/CFL/GreyCup/2012/11/24/20382286.html
  17. It's actually just one of Penton's random musings. Here's the original source (it was syndicated in the Toronto Sun): http://www.winnipegsun.com/2013/10/22/season-of-new-quarterback-in-cfl
  18. If it was down to me, there are 4 guys who I'd want to interview: Kyle Walters, John Murphy, Neil McEvoy (BC Lions AGM and Player Personnel Co-ordinator, been with them since 95), Tom Higgins. Of these guys, the only one who we know is interested in the job is Walters and the only one who has previous experience as a GM is Higgins. But I don't think we should hand out the job just for either of those reasons.
  19. Not just the fans. Rids also posts on Esksfans.com and last May there was a discussion about the draft: Speaking of your draft guide, it looks like the Bombers got a copy: (Thanks to Deeboy at OurBombers.)
  20. Interesting question. Based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_CFL_Draft , I make it that we have: Round One: 1 pick (probably the #2 overall). Round Two: nothing. Round Three: 2 picks (ours and Toronto's). Round Four: 1 pick. Round Five: nothing. Round Six: 2 picks (ours and Edmonton's). Round Seven 1 pick. So we have a total of 7 picks. Only problem is that over half of them are Round Four or lower and I keep hearing that it's not going to be a very deep draft.
  21. He's applied for every opening in the CFL so I'm sure he is. And he's never been hired. This is giving me worrying flashbacks to the Greg Marshall situation.
