2 Weeks to FA - Atomic Top 5 NI Free Agents
Jacquie replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Funny I recall him also stating that the Bombers were going to be "agressive" during free agency. Aggressive doesn't necessarily mean over-paying. -
Bob Mckenzie on Evander Kane

Or maybe he had already been scheduled to see the doctor when the team returned from that trip. You can't possibly believe that. Come on. My point is we don't know the facts. For me, the MIA story is the one I don't believe. If it had been in a different city it could have some truth to it. Personally I don't think he would have done that when his family and friends were going to be at the game. -

I agree. Definitely their best game since the break.

Bob Mckenzie on Evander Kane

The info I saw said it was the doctors who said he should have the surgery now. Lawless asked hIs agent this exact question and the agent corrected lawless and said the doctor recommended it. Lawless said so Kane could have said no I'll keep playing through it and the agent said yes. Zero doubt that Kane decided, after events of Tuesday, that he was no longer willing to play through an injury for the Jets. I'll speculate and say Kane told the jets he was done with the team for good and chose now so he's ready for his next teams training camp. None of us have any idea what the doctor said to Kane about the effects of playing through it versus having surgery now. For all we know he could have told Kane he risked making it much worse if he continued to play. So yes it was ultimately Kane's decision just like it is ultimately the decision of every person who has treatment options given to them by their doctor. The only fact we know is the doctor recommended it and Kane accepted his recommendation. There have been so many versions thrown around about what happened that God knows what the truth is. -

Drew Edwards has said it's pretty much a done deal. -
I was a Renaud fan too. It's too bad he had that knee injury as he wasn't really the same after that. I wish him the best.

Do you think Jets will make any trades now?
Jacquie replied to Brandon's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Lawless has said Kane was sat because of a dress code violation. He arrived at the arena wearing a track suit instead of a suit. -
@garylawless: Lots are asking if Evander Kane has been traded and that's why he's been held out of lineup - my intel says that's not the case. Discipline.

LOL at the Jet fans by the Canucks penalty box with the Kermit plushie which I'm assuming is their answer to the green men.

@ChadOwens2: Let's get big Bruh @EJKUALE back in #DoubleBlue #isstisst

Rob Vanstone @robvanstone Indianapolis Colts agree to terms with Ben Heenan.

David William Naylor @TSNDaveNaylor 47 minutes ago Hearing that former Sask OL Ben Heenan has narrowed choice to two teams, one of which is Baltimore Ravens.

First thing a Rider fan will say about Clark was he was beat like a rented mule on the play where Durant was hurt.

I'm surprised you haven't heard of it. Rider fans here, at TEP and every other CFL site where they post brought it up every time someone said anything about Heenan testing FA.

Two ex Bombers factor BIG in NFC championship game

@garylawless: former #bombers WR Chris Matthews after @SuperBowl “Canada treated me right. I have great love for Canada. For all those that helped me." @ArashMadani: Chris Matthews last night gave a shout out to #Bombers WR coach Markus Howell for helping him on his pro football journey. #CFL -
When another team goes over the cap 4 times we'll see how their fans react and whether they deserve mocking. At this point though the Riders are the only team that has done it. Well, they just raised the cap, so not likely anyone will. Cap went up and so did salaries. Austin has said the Ticats have cap issues and I doubt they are the only ones so it is very possible that a team will go over at some point.

Taman said "I wish I had known earlier he intended on staying, I might have gotten him cheaper". Wouldn't Dressler asking for a 4 year deal kind of indicate he intended to stay.

When Taman was here he believed in his first offer also being his best offer, presumably to "wow" the player and get him to sign before the money goes to someone else and the offer is pulled. Why do you think Heenan hasn't already seen Taman's best offer and passed? How do you know what Heenan has or hasn't seen? Heenan is concentrating on NFL right now.I'm pretty sure Heenan can concentrate on the NFL and listen to what his agent is saying about offers from the Riders at the same time. Of course he can, but he would never sign anything while pursuing NFL. That has nothing to do with whether or not he has heard Taman's best offer.

What figures are you using? I would think the Bombers would be closer to $800,000 for those four. Does anyone know how much money was moved to 2014 from 2015 when Moore restructured his contract? Either way, if we use your estimate, there's a big difference between $900,000 and about $1.1M that is the estimated salaries of Durant, Labatte, Getzlaf and Dressler. Well, I said "close to", but these are the figures I'm using:Willy: $300,000 Picard: $195,000 Moore: $185,000 Denmark: $170,000 That's a total of $855,000. Not hard to argue that those 4 Riders are simply worth more. I was just wondering. It was reported that Willy's base was $250,000 when he signed. I think you're low on Denmark. When he signed an extension it was reported he was one of the highest paid receivers in the league. The wild card is how much of Moore's salary was moved to 2014. My guess for a total was around $820,000 so we weren't too far apart. Personally I think Getzlaf is overpaid. We'll have to see if Durant is worth $400,000 this season. He wasn't playing very well before he was hurt last season.
