That isn't usually announced until April.

There is no way we get Heenan. We would have to GROSSLY overpay for SK to let him go -- he's a local boy, old man is a Riderdouche, blah blah.He wants to go to the NFL. Or play in SK. I would like to say take a huge run at him to get SK to burn a bunch of cap money to keep him, but they dont follow the cap anyway so whats the point? I love the CFL and defend it up and down. But the way the cap is treated makes me think it needs a serious cleansing So we grossly overpay. It's not like the Bombers are up against the cap like the Riders. I don't know about you but I'm tired of seeing our qbs being used for punching bags by other teams defensive linemen in the league. I don't care what they pay the guy to sign him. Just sign him.How do you know the Riders are up against the cap when you don't have access to salaries? Taman said he will be aggressive on the 10th. 1. Getzlaff reported salary $225,0002. Dressler reported salary $200,000 3. Watson reported salary $120,000 4. Labatte reported salary $200,000 5. Durant reportedly makes between $300,000 and $400,000. That's five players making 1.05 and 1.15 million on a salary cap of 5 million. I didn't include Dressler's reported $200,000 bonus so 1.1 million to 1.35 million for 5 players. 20-27% of your cap tied up in five players. I didn't include NI vet starters like Emery and Best either. Can Taman afford to add $200,000-$250,000 for Heenan. Say you're adding $250,000 for Heenan. That could be 1.6 million tied up in 6 players or a third of your cap. I think it's been determined the Dressler was just a guess by someone. Taman has said he's not getting as much as Green. It wouldn't surprise me if Dressler's getting $235,000 plus a signing bonus.I don't know accurate it is but Labatte could make as much as $240,000 this season. I also think you're low on Durant's salary. I think he's over $400,000.

That's BS. Yes, there are team financials, but the CFL has ZERO authority to go beyond the league boundaries . I shouldn't have to remind people here of Wetenhall having Xmas parties in MTL where Als players were reportedly given envelopes of "gifts?" Parties like that count against the cap IIRC.

Mo Leggett just signed a 3 year extension in December.

Do you have a link to that interview? I just watched one from the Riders website and didn't hear him say that. The reference to the salary being evenly spread out is near the end of the interview: He was referring to salary though. A bonus is a separate thing from salary. Also at RiderFans it was said Labatte is getting $240,000 this season. Edited to add: Forget the figures from RF for Dressler. Apparently it was someone just spouting off. In an interview Taman was asked if Dressler was now the highest paid receiver and replied "maybe".

And add in Labatte at $200,000+ (?) and that's a lot of money tied up in 5 players.

So $1 million total?Yes and with committing $400,000 to Dressler for this season, Taman is still saying he will be aggressive in trying to sign Heenan.I wonder if the signing bonuses are paid out over the life of the contract, like $50,000 per season. Nope. I asked Penton and he said one time payment to take advantage of Canadian tax laws.

At RiderFans it was posted that Dressler signed for $200,000 per season with a $200,000 signing bonus.

They have a lot of things that are delivered to your home in the UK:

From Rod Pedersen's blog: http://www.rodpedersen.com/

http://www.winnipegsun.com/2015/01/29/bombers-deal-cory-watson-to-saskatchewan Yes very interesting. I guess Wikipedia needs to update their 2015 draft page. It has been updated.

Thinking about this again, the reports only talked about the Bombers having 3 picks in the top 15. IIRC it's been fan assumption that we still had #20 before the trade.
-
According to Lawless' column: "The reality is Watson was not interested in coming back to Winnipeg and had threatened retirement if he wasn’t traded." Doug Brown said Watson wanted to be traded to an Eastern team. And then Jim Toth @JimTothSports 8h8 hours ago Cory Watson tells @680CJOB surprised by trade to #Riders but understands it's a business & is grateful for his time in WPG with #Bombers So who knows?
-
Do you think Jets will make any trades now?
Jacquie replied to Brandon's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Didn't pittsburgh just get winnick No. Pens made an offer but there was no trade. -
You're assuming everybody in the media is wrong? We switched 3rd rounders with the Ticats in the trade for that mlb whose name escapes me. Not just the media but the Bombers too. From the Bombers website: "In return, the Riders secured wide receiver Cory Watson and the 26th overall pick in the 2015 CFL draft.." Kromah? According to reports, Hamilton traded him to us for future considerations. The official announcement made no mention of a draft pick coming to us.

The November 26, 1958 Free Press had an article called "Know Your Bombers" that listed the players and gave a brief profile for each. Looks like Stuart is back in the line-up, replacing Harrison. Reports indicate he was paired with Trouba for the morning skate. Also, reports that TJ Galiardi was no where to be seen so speculation is he has been placed on waivers. Ken Wiebe @WiebeSunSports Was some chatter in #Flyers room about HC Craig Berube having words with #NHLJets D Dustin Byfuglien at end of game last month Ken Wiebe @WiebeSunSports #Flyers Claude Giroux said this: "I don't know if Byfuglien and (Berube) would get in a fight but I would like to see it." Ken Wiebe @WiebeSunSports #Flyers HC Craig Berube was told about Giroux's comments and offered: "I'm too old for that stuff." Go Jets Go!!
-
Did we make any other trades with Hamilton? The 26th pick is the second last of round 3 so it would have originally been their pick.
-
I only own 2 jerseys and now both are gone. I had hoped my Watson jersey was still safe since they used his picture on the the mobile store. Lol Guess that needs a new paint job now. However I like the trade too.

I thought I saw it posted here but I can't seem to find it. So in case anyone didn't hear, S.J. Green re-signed with the Als: http://www.cfl.ca/article/going-nowhere-als-lock-up-wr-green and Austin Collie was not signed by the Als: Drew Edwards @scratchingpost 7h7 hours ago Oh my. RT @AKCollie_10: @JakeHatch77 Don't believe wht u hear. The report of me plying for Montreal is completely false. Farhan Lalji @FarhanLaljiTSN 7h 7 hours ago Austin Collie is not going to #Als but he is in discussions with other #CFL teams. Was he even playing half the season? Lol I don't remember him seeing the field much.. He played at least 5 games. He was on the 1 game IR for about half the season. Some of his time on the IR was due to a concussion he suffered.
-
Talented player but had some serious concussion issues with Indy. Would he be a National or International player under the new CBA? According to Madani, he's a national.
