  1. Why are people assuming that what Banks said is the truth.
  2. Arash Madani @ArashMadani · Dec 9 Front runner for the Riders defensive coordinator job is Mike Benevides. But not quite a slam dunk that he's Regina bound quite yet. #CFL
  3. PR players who became FAs can be signed at anytime. The Bombers PR players became FAs after our last game and, iirc, one of them was signed by another team before the playoffs started.
  4. NHL Player Safety ✔ @NHLPlayerSafety Dallas forward Ryan Garbutt will have a hearing tomorrow morning for a slew-foot on Winnipeg defenseman Dustin Byfuglien. Chris Johnston ✔ @reporterchris Ryan Garbutt, who has already been suspended this season, has a hearing with @NHLPlayerSafety for slew-footing Dustin Byfuglien last night.
  5. Explain why you have this feeling... Because Washington was O'Shea's first choice for DC when he was putting his staff together last year. Benevides said in an interview in June that if he hadn't promoted Washington to DC then it would have been a done deal that Washington would have been our DC. He admitted he let Stubler go because he didn't want to lose Washington. (The quote and link are in the Cortez thread.)
  6. I can't see Chapdelaine leaving SFU for an OC job.
  7. I sense the sarcasm... What I don't get is why offer him a different position? And if he does take a lesser role, what DC would go there knowing the prior DC is just sitting there waiting for you to fail? They did the same thing with Dyce when they hired Cortez as OC.
  8. Why Ottawa? Nelson did a pretty good job with the defense all things considered - it was the offense that was the problem.
  9. Ouch! Making a comment like that on the day after the anniversary of John Lennon's murder is bad timing.
  10. So this blogger is part of the "news crew" you referred to earlier. It's obvious some of the initial media briefings had some mistakes which isn't unusual but the fact remains that the Grand Jury was given a diagram that showed the distance was almost 153" from the police SUV to Brown's body. Did you even look at that crime scene diagram? The fatal shots were not fired by the police SUV. As well, there was blood found further down the street which proves that Brown was moving towards Wilson when the fatal shots were fired. And please ignore the eye witness testimony and read the forensics. There are a lot of studies about how unreliable eye witness testimony is and this case is a textbook example of that. Countless witness statements with so many discrepancies they are pretty much useless. Just out of curiosity, have you read any of the actual Grand Jury transcripts? You're right Spuds. It has nothing to do with it. Personal, I hope Sam gets a shot with the Als or any other team.
  11. Ain't that the truth. Have the GM hint to the press that you might be fired is exactly how it should be done <-- sarcasm.
  12. That is BS. Brown and his friend were walking down the centre line of the street when Wison stopped and told them to get on the sidewalk. And if you think Brown was not reaching in the window of the car and trying to get Wilson's gun then you obviously didn't read the forensics reports. One damning piece of evidence was published yesterday. The official police report stated and was presented under oath that the final confrontation bewtween the officer and Brown took place 35 feet from the cruiser when Brown allegedly stopped running and began to attack the officer who was simply standing his ground. A news crew went to the spot where Brown was killed and found a discrepancy- the actual spot was 138 feet away from the cruiser location, which puts the entire officer statement that he was defending himself and pursuing a wounded suspect as well as the whole internal "investigation" in question and means the investigating officers and Wilson committed perjury. I don't know where you are getting your information because the official crime scene diagram presented to the Grand Jury shows that Brown's body was just under 153" from the police cruiser. http://stltoday.com/michael-brown-shooting-scene-diagram/pdf_92c14ae3-8c5f-59ef-938b-664d66feea96.html

  14. IIRC the first reports that the Bombers were going to name Stubler as DC came out of BC, not here.
  15. Thanks for the tip. I'll have to check that out. And Dee is freakin' funny.
  16. When they keep ending up with a power play, why stop.
  17. If you meant presents for the fans, you're right.
  18. thought Dahlquist did good with the QBs And I believe Howell is quite respected by the receivers based on comments I've read.
  19. I recall Penton saying he was a candidate but did he actually get an interview?
  20. What makes you think Montreal will replace Dinwiddie? Considering Toronto and Hamilton are set at OC I agree they wouldn't be interested. One, Higgins and Cortez has a working history with the Stamps during the 90's. Two, Higgins inherited Dinwiddie from the previous coach. Popp hired the coaching staff last year (including Dinwiddie), not Dawkins. Just like Popp had most of the coaching staff in place before Higgins was hired.

  22. Cortez was fired when Austin became available.
  23. Reports out of Ottawa have Jason Maas being named their OC.
  24. Interesting. What did Bob say? I do know Penton is tight with Walters and Irving with Wade. How do you know this?
