  1. No they didn't. Playing on Saturday and then Friday isn't a short week. That's pretty much the average amount of time between games.
  2. Yes he can especially if it's the owner who tells him to do it. Wettenhall doesn't like to lose. From Herb Zurkowsky's twitter feed:
  3. Did you not watch the game? Turnovers were probably 4-2 in favor of the bombers. Did you? We had at least three turnovers. I was just thinking I forgot about the turnover on the fake punt Montreal gave up 3 interceptions, a blocked punt and a turnover on downs on a third down gamble. We gave up 1 interception, a turnover on downs (fake punt) and a fumble. I don't recall any other turnovers but I might have missed one.
  4. We won the turnover battle.
  5. I was fooling around on Photoshop and thought it might be interesting to see what our current uniform would like like with a colour change. What do you think?
  6. You absolutely *NEED* one channel dedicated to lumberjack / strongman competitions .. simply not enough time in the day for that sort of stuff. you mean to say you don't enjoy watching some huge guy do a hundred yard dash pushing a wheel barrow with a car engine in it? What's wrong with you? I vote for the Irish sport of hurling, (not the one caused by drinking) I'm hoping for some good caber toss competitions. Och, there's nothing like a buff guy in a kilt.
  7. I found a different like to the article and modified my post so it should work now. In case you're too lazy to go back to it, here it is again: http://www.cfl.ca/article/bold-new-cfl-signature-uniforms-coming-soon I'm a little surprised no one at the official forum has made the connection.
  8. For those saying the Bombers and Jeffrey Bannon had nothing to do with the design: http://www.cfl.ca/article/bold-new-cfl-signature-uniforms-coming-soon
  9. Except at the time he deferred the salaries he had no idea what this year's cap would be. But everyone was almost certain it was going to be going up this year -- we didn't know how much, but it was a certainty it would be significant. (Still a bad play, I think. But not as bad as in 2008 for us.) But the CFL's first public offer was a $200,000 increase. From the CFL's open letter to the CFLPA from May: http://www.cfl.ca/article/canadian-football-league-makes-offer-to-players Yes it was an early stages of negotiations offer but it took a while for the League to bump up its offer. Taman should be considered more lucky than brilliant with that maneuver.
  10. They've already stopped those commercials. The pretzel bun promo is over - It's steakhouse hamburgers now.

  12. The "league and CFL" - that's the same thing. Maybe someone misspoke. I find it difficult to believe the teams didn't have input into their own jerseys.
  13. Why? Bartel is a non-import and has an almost identical average punt average as Schmitt this year. Bartel has struggled this year. It's tough to tell with stats. After week 8, Bartell has 1 punt more than Schmitt with Schmitt's average 0.1 yards per punt better (Bartell 44.3 while Schmitt is 44.4). Their net averages are 2 yards different (Bartell 37.5, Schmitt 35.5). Bartel has had 13 punts inside the 20 yard line and 5 inside the 10 yard line while Schmitt has 11 inside the 20 and 2 inside the 5. I see 44.8 for Bartel and 44.6 for Schmitt on CFL.ca Anyways, it's Bartel's best year average wise. I saw that too but in the game analysis report for week 8 at CFL Media it had 44.3 and 44.4.

  15. Your friend watches too much TV and/or movies. Police are trained to shoot at the torso. In real life, no one has the accuracy to shoot at such a small area in a situation like this - especially if either or both people are moving.
  16. I voted no because I don't plan on buying any new jerseys this year. BTW, Mike, your mailbox is full. It's not accepting any new PMs.
  17. Okay, I see what you're saying - when I read your post I couldn't figure out what Schmitt had to do with bringing in Palardy. As for not re-signing Schmitt, likely SMS related.
  18. What's that based on? Just curious. He hates the french. What? Now that's just confusing. Think Paris, iso.

  20. Maybe people should wait until they've actually seen the Bombers uniform before deciding they hate them.
  21. I don't know. There must be a reason why Milo hasn't punted since 2012.
  22. Or Chamblin may be tired of his 71.4% success rate on FGs.
  23. How do you know what he is talking about. There was absolutely no context to that tweet. He could have been talking about anything. Yes I'm sure it's a coincidence he said that on the exact same day players started seeing the new jerseys. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Fact is none of us knows definitively what he was referring to. You can assume all you want but we all know what they say about people who assume...

  25. How does Toronto have a "gift schedule"? BC, Ottawa and Montreal are the only teams that don't have a short week. I can't see how anyone would think playing 3 road games then 2 homes followed by 4 more on the road could see that as a gift schedule. Toronto, most years, has the worst schedule thanks to Rogers. Well considering Toronto has 5 fans who actually show up to games... nearly every game is a road game for them. I'd assume the reason for the heavy away schedule earlier on in the year is because Toronto is one of the few places that can hold a decent football game late in the year because of the closed roof. The reason for the heavy away schedule is due to the unavailability of Rogers Centre because of the Blue Jays and other events being given priority.
