  1. Why can't it be both? And what's wrong with that? No one will be forced to buy them. If they want to spend their money on one that's fine and dandy.
  2. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/mts-scores-a-hat-trick-with-three-new-tsn-channels-2014-08-18 How will the Jets lose revenue? They still have a contract to be paid $XX to have their games broadcast by TSN. The games being free doesn't change that. As for TSN, as long as they get paid by MTS for the feed they don't care whether MTS charges or not.
  3. For those complaining about the lack of red in their current jerseys, the signature takes care of that:
  4. How does Toronto have a "gift schedule"? BC, Ottawa and Montreal are the only teams that don't have a short week. I can't see how anyone would think playing 3 road games then 2 homes followed by 4 more on the road could see that as a gift schedule. Toronto, most years, has the worst schedule thanks to Rogers.
  5. Blue Swayze shoes - groan
  6. It's weird seeing the home team wearing white and the road team wearing their home jerseys. Didn't realize Harris was injured. That will hurt BC.
  7. With their injuries at QB, we'll have to wait to see.
  8. I'm looking forward to seeing him in blue & gold.
  9. He also said "Chris Schultz and the Eskimos" at one point. SMH This is a game that neither teams seems to want to win.
  10. What the heck happened to him between when he was released here and signed by Ottawa - to go from looking pretty good to so inconsistent.
  11. I think it was Ian Wild who was campaigning for the royal blues on twitter last month.
  12. It was the new owners of the team that forced Paddock to make the trade: http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/hockey/jets/teemu-trade-still-galls-135787458.html
  13. Why is that? How hard is it to schedule a break in both halves of the season? Ottawa had the bye Week 1 & they'll have a second break before we have our first? Week 13??? Makes no sense. Bush league. Not bush. Blame it on Rogers and having two teams that wanted to start on the road because of their stadium issues although blame it mostly on Rogers. I blame Rogers for any screwiness with the schedule.
  14. I didn't want to start a new thread for this so this one seemed the most appropriate to use. I thought this was funny. jimmy fallon ✔ @jimmyfallon A Minnesota town just elected a dog as mayor. The mayor pees in the street & eats out of the garbage. Toronto said "Been there!” #fallonmono
  15. Something else to keep in mind... Nic16 at the Bombers forum mentioned that Glenn January had pointed out that the Bombers have had "the least amount of practice & recovery time of all teams. They finished game 8 on Tuesday where as some other teams had only played 6 games to that point." (I'm quoting Nic16's post about what January said). After this week is over, BC and Toronto will have played 8 games and the other teams will have played 7. BC and us are the only teams who haven't had their first bye week yet (Lions is in week 10, Bombers week 13) meaning Hamilton, Toronto and Ottawa will have had their second bye week before we have our first.
  16. My friend and her family stationed in Poland thank you.
  17. Given we don't know what the play calls are, how can anyone say with any certainty the call was good or bad.
  18. Are you referring to just international receivers? If you're including nationals, I think it's safe to say most of us have been very pleased and surprised by Feoli-Gudino.
  19. I don't think the Argos are going to roll over to the Lions. Yes, it's a short week and a long trip for them but having had the recent bye week I don't think they'll be as tired as the Bombers were. Why would Braley want the Argos to be a "free spot" for the Lions? It's not like other teams won't be having short weeks either. Some examples: Edmonton and Calgary play each other twice in 5 days (Labour Day game and rematch), Saskatchewan and Hamilton were coming off short weeks when they played us. I think having had their first bye weeks within 2 weeks of these games helped Hamilton and Saskatchewan get through the short weeks better than we did. Game is in Toronto. Thanks. I'll fix that. Even more reason for the Argos to not be as affected by the short week.

  21. Back in the WHA days, Skalbania owned the Oilers. He added Peter Pocklington as a partner and later sold his interest to Pocklington. He later bought the Indianapolis Racers and signed Wayne Gretzky to a personal services contract when Gretzky was 17. He later sold Gretzky's contract to the Oilers. There is a story that Skalbania and Barry Shenkarow had been flying somewhere together and Skalbania challenged Shenkarow to a game of backgammon - if Skalbania won then Shenkarow would have to give Skalbania a half interest in the Jets and if Shenkarow won he would get Gretzky's contract. Shenkarow turned him down but they still played a number of games of backgammon. Purportedly Shenkarow won the first game and then lost every other game they played.
  22. Since 1995 there has not been a team that has won 8 games that hasn't made the play-offs.
  23. Yeah, I was wrong. Skalkbania owned the Als not the Lions. And yes, he brought in Ferragamo, Billy "White Shoes' Johnson & running back David Overstreet in 1981. It's hard to keep track of all these carpetbagging, tire kicking, slick used car type owners that the CFL used to attract. In for a quick buck but always lost money. No you weren't. Skalbania did own the Lions briefly. I felt kind of sorry for Johnson. Coming to the CFL must have caused quite an identity crisis for him since all CFL players at that time wore white shoes. I disagree. He saved the Lions after Skalbania's time there and he saved the Argos as well. He's pretty much responsible for Hamilton getting a new stadium from his position on the Pan-Am Games committee. He's done much more to help than hurt the League.
  24. Thanks for the picture. I don't recall seeing anyone wearing that on the sidelines before.
  25. Game against Montreal is here.
