Why do you assume they didn't review it. Most scoring plays they don't announce anything - only when there is a delay due to the review.

I think people are blaming the wrong people at least in part. The League instructs the officials on how the rules should be interpreted and it's usually the BoG and/or the Rules Committee who tell the League what interpretation they want and how tightly they things should be called.

Are there any stats that breakdown the circumstances of sacks? It would be interesting to know how many sacks were actually due to the oline and how many were due to other positions not making a play (ie a coverage sack, a RB misses a block on the blitz, etc).
