East Mountain site was mentioned as well. It was an area where a lot of Ti Cats fans thought would work very well. It's looked upon as an area where things will take off in a number of years. I've never been to Hamilton so I don't know where it is. East Mountain is the site Young wanted.

From TSN:

He didn't have to keep Lapo's assistants - he chose to keep them. He said before he even had the interim label taken off that he would keep Crowton as OC. After the season ended, he was asked if he was going to keep Lapo's assistants and he said most of them.

Banks is injured. From the Sun: http://www.winnipegsun.com/2014/06/22/bombers-set-lineup-ahead-of-thursdays-cfl-opener

Where's the other $10 million coming from ? As far as I know the Ticats are only putting in $5 million, for locker room and fitness room etc. I'm trying to find out how much they are putting in - I saw $10M in one article but it might have been old. It would seem to be at least $10M as the Specator indicated "Owner Bob Young is investing (another) $5 million to upgrade the football facilities". http://www.thespec.com/sports-story/4478239-cfl-momentum-of-ticats-carrying-into-corporate-life/

Well, alright, I'll play Captain Obvious as you seem to be asking for it. Had Bob not torpedoed the WH location as well as another site then the Ti Cats would have still been playing at IWS & there'd be no issues. Young put no money into the current Pan Am Stadium construct. Or he came to the table after everything was resolved. The $145 million dollar price tag is 100% taxpayer funded. Bob Young didn't want the West Harbour site for many of the same reasons people ***** about the site of IGF - limited access to the site, parking, NIMBYs. It was not a financially viable location. I'm not sure what other sites you're referring to since City Council rejected a number of sites (CP land, Confederation Park for example) before deciding to go with the West Harbour location. The games were awarded in late 2009 and, iirc, it was from April or May, 2010 that the disagreement over site became an issue. Hamilton city council voted in August, 2010 to have the stadium at the West Harbour. In December, 2010 the new mayor came into office and by February, 2011 there was an agreement to re-build at the Ivor Wynne site with demolition starting in fall, 2012. It wasn't years of arguing (like what happened here) and it is a win-win situation for the City and the team.

Young is putting money into the stadium - I believe it's about $15M now after a recent announcement that he would be spending an additional $5M on some stadium upgrades. As well the Ticats will be paying substantially more in rent than they were paying before and the City will be getting the naming rights money. And I think if you review what happened you will see the Hamilton mayor was locked on to the West Harbour location from the get go. You didn't answer the question, where were the Ticats supposed to play last season.
-
I don't know how you can say Young treated the fans like garbage and where the heck were they supposed to play last season. The Hamilton mayor and council are as much to blame for the delays as anyone. The way their mayor was dealing with this is one of the reasons he wasn't re-elected and their new mayor was able to get a deal very quickly. And how exactly is Young responsible for construction delays when he isn't the one overseeing the construction.
-
So for those who say the players quit last season, this sounds like the coach quit first.

Lawless: Drew, the Bombers bench is on the west side of Investors Group Field but this is your first year with the team so I think there's a good chance you might run to the visitor's side instead from force of habit even though you've been practicing at Investors Group Field for a month and didn't do that during the pre-season game but I still think it will happen, don't you agree? Friesen: Drew, last season Tim Burke had his quarterbacks take a knee during some games. Are you going to do that? And how can I blame it on Joe Mack.

From the twitter feed on the side of the forum: Bob Irving @BobIrvingCJOB Romby Bryant is 34 but mike O'Shea is convinced he still has game-breaking speed so bombers will work him out after their opener vs Argos I trust O'Shea enough that if he wants Bryant signed I can live with it but as far as I'm concerned he's going to have to play a hell of a lot better than he did in 2009 before I'm willing to forgive and forget.

TSN Off-Season Game Plan: Winnipeg Jets
Jacquie replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Good news. There are no Jets home games on the same day as any Bomber home games. There are only two games where the teams play on the same day - one the Jets are on the road (pre-season) and the Bombers home and the other both teams are on the road. The only possible conflict would be if the Bombers host the Western Final as the Jets play at home that day. http://jets.nhl.com/club/schedule.htm -
I think Friesen may be out to lunch about his comment about the Bombers. There is one day where Willy won't be available immediately after practice but he will be available when O'Shea meets with the media.

Improving fan experience & traffic flow after games
Jacquie replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Those dunk tanks will be there for the Banjo Bowl with Rider fans used. It's not like anyone would complain about there being a few less Rider fans. -
The league would not allow a team to ban a media outlet.

Crapigna is not listed in the Stamps' list of players who were released.
-
They have a bye Week 1 so they must have a line on some kickers to bring in & evaluate before then. I wonder if they'll pick up Stamps Tyler Crapigna who was released & sent back to CIS this season? He was never going to beat out Rob Maver & Rene Paredes. The Stamps put Crapigna on their suspended list. That would protect him from being snagged by another team, wouldn't it.

Wallace Miles has been put on Ottawa's disabled list. Anyone know anything about what happened to him?
-
I don't think his passport had much to do with his being cut by the RedBlacks. He didn't play well in his pre-season game with them.
-
From the article Atomic posted, his biological father hasn't been in his life since he was a child and his step-father is the man who was a father to him.
-
I think the media may be more upset with not having access to the locker room after games than at other times.
-
Time for him to do what all good senators do, retire & live off the taxpayer's trough. Even though he doesn't have to. Truly though, he has to sell off his teams & go. You do realize Braley resigned from the Senate last year and I don't think he was a Senator long enough to qualify for the pension.

So quiet he refused to speak to the media (not just local) when he was here but didn't have a problem with it in Calgary - and that was under Berry as well as Kelly.
