I agree with this post. For pretty much everyone, there comes a time when what we loved to do as a career begins to fade in interest and the fires that drove the career start to die out so that the edge we may have had dulls. Its not that we become stupid or disinterested, its just that our priorities begin to shift. Mack may have understimated the effort required to turn the ship around and just didn't have it any more. When Mack was fired Bob Irving said that Mack's wife was battling or had just finished a battle with cancer. He didn't say how long she was sick for but that is certainly something that can change your priorities.

Yeah. I read somewhere that it has something to do with the injury he suffered at the end of the season when he took a shot in the face against Calgary but I don't know if that's true or not.

IHard to judge their body of work since they really didn't have much to work with. Aside from him being a Manitoba boy, Evan Gill is a risky pick for a team like Hamilton because he's one of your two top 40 picks and he may not even consider coming to camp this year as he gears up for the NFL next year. Moving up to get Landry confused me for the price they paid and the other guys are wait and see types. I do like Pesek though. Dont know where you got info from but he's made it clear he's coming to camp and wants to play. There were reports and rumours for a couple of months before the draft that he was going to go back to school and try the NFL next year.

Important notice regarding the future of MBB.com
Jacquie replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
That's actually an interesting idea. Personally I don't pay attention to email but some may definitely find value in that. Anyone else? I think the Twitter account may be a better way instead of email perhaps. Posting something on the MBB Twitter feed works for me regarding letting people know when the site is back up or other announcements. -

Only suggestion I can make is send an email blast to members to let them know when maintenance is done or of special events. -
Madani: CFLPA Recommends Strike Vote To Members
Jacquie replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I don't see how it would be any more difficult in those cities since the most expensive thing about living there is accommodation which PR players don't have to pay. And being on the PR doesn't mean they only make $750, that's the minimum they can be paid. Some do get more than that. -

According to Drew Edwards, teams provide accommodation and some meals to PR players. -

Best guess at the 44 man roster projection
Jacquie replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
They've agreed to a 44 man game day roster and 2 player reserve. The 2 additional players have to be 1 NI and one DI. -
As I'm sure you know the CBA limits amounts of fines and what actions can result in fines and/or suspensions. And there have been many times when players have been released due to off field trouble. There is only so much the League can do.

The first round will be on TSN Radio and rounds 2-7 streaming on TSN.ca and TSN GO: http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=451981 Last year TSN had video of each pick from the draft up at their website rather quickly iirc.

He turned down the BC OC job as well. -
Terrell Parker & Mike McAdoo released
Jacquie replied to sweep the leg's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
No we don't. We play them twice - here in week 17 and in Calgary in week 19. -
Maybe it was auto-correct changing what he typed to "decorated".

When did Mike Kelly coach Special Teams?
-
No thanks to Phaneuf. Wasn't it 2012 that he was voted the most overrated player in a poll of NHL players done by TSN?
-
Remaining rounds are on TSN.ca. yeah like always, i just don't understand why they couldn't cover it all on tv, maximum of what 3 hours? Because they have a Hawks/Wild game on TSN and a NBA playoff game on TSN2.

@Wpg_BlueBombers: O'Shea says he knows fans don't like turnover of players, he's brought in players who are true leaders. @Wpg_BlueBombers: O'Shea says the biggest job he has is to restore pride to this organization, put together winning seasons. @Wpg_BlueBombers: O'Shea: I guarantee you'll be proud of the effort put forth by this team when you leave the stadium. I will not stand for lack of effort, the coaches I've hired won't stand for lack of effort. And from others: @PentonKirk: Head coach Mike O'Shea said tonight at the fan forum said a recognizable linebacker will be joining the #Bombers in the next couple days. @CJOBSports: Question at Bombers fan forum re city appointee to Bd of Directors. Chair Bulbeck thinks needs to work for city. Await city response. Note: I've combined tweets that were made in 2 parts for ease of reading.

Tweets from the Bombers feed: @Wpg_BlueBombers: 2014 Fan Forum is underway! #bombers #believeinblue http://t.co/tnCkA5bhyM @Wpg_BlueBombers: Head Table introductions at the #Bombers #FanForum to much applause from the assembled crowd. @Wpg_BlueBombers: Chair of the #Bombers Board, Brock Bulbuck opening remarks, updates re: governance pledges made last year, esp putting fans first and to "get out of the way" and let Wade Miller and his staff run the team. @Wpg_BlueBombers: Bulbuck says governance changes mean the #Bombers Board will be completely turned over by 2018. Board bylaws will also be on the Bombers website in the coming days. He says they are working to be the most transparent Board in all of pro sports. @Wpg_BlueBombers: President & CEO Wade Miller takes the podium, thanks the fans and corporate sponsors for unwavering support. Also acknowledges the many alumni in attendance at the Forum. Time to talk about financials. @Wpg_BlueBombers: Miller says he fully believes team can improve on these financial results going forward, especially now that one-time expenses are done including severance being paid to former management and coaches, those are all finished. @Wpg_BlueBombers: Miller talks about new tailgating experience, which will include portable Rum Hut. There will be 5 charging stations for cell phones around the stadium this year as well. And two new bars will be open on the 200 Level to help relieve some congestion on concourse. @Wpg_BlueBombers: GM Kyle Walters takes the stage. Says his first job was to open the budget and re-evaluate every dollar spent to get the best value for every single dollar, to better use the budgets. @Wpg_BlueBombers: Walters promises nobody will be able to question the time, energy and effort put into putting this team together for 2014. @Wpg_BlueBombers: Walters says the quality of US players at this year's camp will be much better than you've seen in the past at Training Camp. @Wpg_BlueBombers: Walters says the Board & Wade have been wholly supportive of Football Ops, that they're being given every opportunity to compete and that the perception the Football Ops are underfunded is no longer the case. @Wpg_BlueBombers: Walters: says the importance of the WFC in Winnipeg is very apparent to him, and he has great relationships with coaches of Bisons & Rifles. @Wpg_BlueBombers: Walters says he loves football so much, he referees high school football in his spare time and loves giving back to this community. @Wpg_BlueBombers: Walters says fans will fall in love with the passion Mike O'Shea has for the game and for how he runs his team. @Wpg_BlueBombers: O'Shea takes the stage. Says as he met fans earlier tonight, everyone welcomed him and asked how he likes it so far. When his son and he arrived back in town last week, he drove toward the stadium and says there's no B.S. from him, it feels so good to be in Winnipeg. @Wpg_BlueBombers: O'Shea tells story of a 20-something girl at the airport grilling him about who will play tailback, and says that's why he came to Winnipeg: passionate, knowledgeable fans. Says he couldn't be happier to be here. @Wpg_BlueBombers: O'Shea says his job is to hire coaches smarter than himself, he wants to give this team, city and province the chance to win off the bat. @Wpg_BlueBombers: Of his 11 coaches, O'Shea says 7 are Canadian, only one has no CFL experience: QB Coach Gene Dahlquist, who is a 30+ year veteran coach in the USA, and an expert at the QB position who has already picked up the CFL game.

Bombers Reject Rabb for Board of Directors
Jacquie replied to Nasty Nate's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Obviously there was speculation otherwise there would have been no rumours since that is essentially what a rumour is - speculation. If you want to say the rumours weren't true, fine that's your opinion but to say there were no rumours or speculation is just being argumentative. -

You've complained about the media coverage of the Stamps in Calgary so is it surprising they didn't report it but the Winnipeg media did. Ed Tait said there were rumours so you can bet there were rumours. Sure Jacquie whatever you say. It's not what I say. It's what Ed Tait (one of the all-time great Bomber beat reporters) and every other media outlet in Winnipeg said at time. And contrary to what you say, it was reported by the Calgary media weeks before Bauer was hired.
