Indeed, he was my clear choice for the Bomber ROTY candidate. Does anyone recall who was our ROTY candidate last year? Zach Anderson? Or was it actually Wild? eidt: Pardon, 'Most Outstanding Rookie' It was Wild.

Bombers Reject Rabb for Board of Directors
Jacquie replied to Nasty Nate's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
They have a sponsorship agreement with the Bombers for $330,000 over 3 years and part of the sponsorship money goes to game day transit. -
Here's the video from the Bombers website: http://www.bluebombers.com/video/index/id/95789

Bombers Reject Rabb for Board of Directors
Jacquie replied to Nasty Nate's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
There are going to be 3 Board members retiring within the next year or so. If Rabb wants on the BoD then he can apply for the position like any other qualified person can do. The City's rep is supposed to represent the City of Winnipeg (the entity) and a private sector business person isn't qualified to do that imo. For the life of the agreements that created the spot on the BoD for the City's rep it has always been the CAO or CFO (or whatever title the top dog had). -
It's not up yet at the Bombers website but it should be soon.

The draft pick would not be voided. The rules at CFL.ca say: Meaning if they traded their 2015 1st round pick then they would forfeit their 2016 1st round pick.
-
I didn't like it either but with the way the rule is written I'm not sure they could have called it differently.

The Difference Between Calgary & Winnipeg (Media Coverage)
Jacquie replied to iso_55's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I wouldn't call it huge. The TV ratings for Raptors games outside of Toronto haven't exactly been great. The Jays have lost a lot of ground since their World Series days. -
Steven Jyles a no-show at BC Lions mini camp
Jacquie replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I highly doubt Jyles got any upfront money. Buono said Jyles had only agreed to terms - doesn't say whether the contract was actually signed. -
It was the 3rd period - Ducks tied it with 24 seconds left in the third and won it in OT.

Knapp didn't play LT in that game - he played RG. I didnt say Knapp played LT... read my post i think he played RT vs Edmonton it's the game where he played good the first half until he got tired and Odell figured him out on the second http://cfl.uploads.mrx.ca/wpg/pdf/depth/2013/DepthChartEdmontonatWinnipeg094146.pdf then we played 3 imports the next game (vs BC) with him playing RG http://cfl.uploads.mrx.ca/wpg/pdf/depth/2013/DepthvsBC093002.pdf My mistake. I had my games confused.

But I think it's a bit of an exaggeration to say that the Bruins could have any goaltender and still be fine. Rask is a hell of a goaltender and I think he can carry a team. The Bruins aren't supermen, teams can and do outplay them, but Rask can stand tall and bail them out as well. I agree Rask can stand tall and bail them out but he isn't put in the position where he has to do that game after game after game. That is why I say he doesn't carry the Bruins.

I said no such thing so stop trying to twist my words. I was specifically talking about Rask - not making a generalization and you know it. I said Rask is a solid goalie but he does NOT carry the Bruins.
-
Actually I said "who can", not "did". As for Price, it wasn't years ago - it was within the past 2-3 seasons. As for Rask, the Bruins could have any NHL goalie in net and they would still be a #3 team.
-
When I asked I meant current, not past. I thought that was understood from the phrasing. And I said "many", not all of the retired goalies. Methinks you are the one doing the twisting.

league pays for playoff bonuses not teams. They are over the cap because they spent too much on player salaries plain and simple. Player contracts can also have bonus clauses for the playoffs.
-
Why is it people talk about the lack of veteran leadership on the team but when trade suggestions are made it's those vets who keep being named in the trades.
-
I suspect that O'Shea will have a strong voice in the choice, being as how he is the one to direct the team on the field.Definitely O'Shea will have a lot of input but it is ultimately Walters' decision.

There is a downloadable copy of the rule book at CFL.ca in the Fan Zone section. They have the 2013 version still up and here's the link: http://cfl.uploads.mrx.ca/league/downloads/en/downloads/2014/01/2013-cfl-rule-book2014015205.pdf

You have likely seen or heard about Darcy Oake (Scott Oake's son) appearing on Britian's Got Talent a few days ago and he completely wowed the judges. If you haven't seen his performance here's a link to the video: It's freaking amazing!

Pavlec has way more experience than Reimer. He has potential to be a lot better while Pavlec has shown he may have plateaued even with more playing time. Goalies that can carry a team during the regular season & playoffs? Current & retired: Tuuka Rask, Mikka Kipprussoff, Carey Price, Patrick Roy, Billy Smith, Gerry Cheevers, Craig Anderson, Ken Dryden, Tony Esposito, Jacques Plante. Ed Giacomin, Henrik Lundqvist & Bernie Parent. To name a few. All these guys played great for a long time. First let's keep it to current goalies. The game was different, the equipment was bigger, etc for many of the retired players you've mentioned. And when it comes to the Original 6 era, the talent pool wasn't thinned out, etc. Rask has the benefit of playing on one of the best teams in the League - he's a solid goalie but he does not carry that team. Carey Price is a very good goalie who has almost been run out of Montreal by the fans a few times in the past and still has occasional stretches where he can't stop a beach ball (for example, about 2 or 3 weeks before the Olympics this season). Craig Anderson has never carried the Senators in the playoffs - the Senators have won one playoff series with Anderson in goal. I'll agree on Lundqvist.
-
So Reimer can improve because he hasn't been a #1 goalie but Pavelec won't because he is. I disagree - Pavelec is the same age as Reimer and to suggest he won't or can't improve because he's played more is silly IMO. It's been suggested Leafs fans use Reimer as a scapegoat. Jets fans do the same thing to Pavelec IMO. Name some goalies who carry their team over a season and are consistent game in game out. As for Pavelec, I trust the opinion of Chevy and Maurice over what fans think.

not really... I think Ham tried it as well but not for long I would only consider the bombers doing it because our NI depth is really terrible across the board, including OL... IIRC the Riders did it last season or the one before for a game or two.
