  1. How do you know they didn't exceed the cap. The announcement isn't made until late March or April.
  2. I agree. His blog said the Bombers "likely offered" more money.
  3. Speaking of the Super Bowl, Burris is hosting a Super Bowl party at a Calgary restaurant so he wouldn't be able to fly here until late Sunday night or Monday morning at the earliest.
  4. Another thing to remember, the League office is closed on the weekend so a contract can't be filed until Monday.
  5. I know he worked out for the Vikings in early December.
  6. I would think a long term contract would mean 3 years.
  7. The Bombers don't make announcements until a contract gets the official okey-dokey from the League. Plus they likely want Burris here for a press conference. Lots of reasons why nothing has been announced yet.
  8. Austin tried twice to extend his contract and Burris turned him down. ....And now back to the Austin Has No Loyalty Game. Source? Burris said he hadn't heard a peep from Austin all offseason about a contract extension. It happened last spring according to Drew Edwards. He said Burris turned them down because he wanted to wait until after the 2013 season was over. http://scratchingpost.thespec.com/2014/01/analysis-why-zach-collaros-is-now-the-ticats-qb-and-henry-burris-isnt.html?cid=6a00d83451bb7469e201a5115fba5d970c
  9. Considering some of the wild salary claims made here lately, are you sure?
  10. Byron Parker? No, he wasn't. The only person making $400,000 in Montreal was AC.
  11. Why do people think Burris would be fine signing to be a back-up? That's why he wanted out of Calgary in the first place.
  12. To start, Hamilton gave up 15 more sacks than the Bombers last season.
  13. Odd rationale. If you pretty much know he's not coming back, why not shop the negotiating rights to every other team? Collaros is still an asset, even if you only get a 4th or 5th round pick, it's something. Takes two to make a trade. Maybe he did try but no one bit. I suspect Ottawa has waiver priority this season just like they got the first pick in the draft. Why would they go to Toronto? Wouldn't he mostly likely be at his home in the States?
  14. I seem to remember AC including himself when he said they didn't perform well. He talked a lot about the whole team which would include him.
  15. "Hasn't sniffed the playoffs in" 2 seasons.
  16. Harris not a potential FA. Some people thought he was but they were wrong.
  17. The problem I have when people say they trust what they saw is, generally speaking, people have a tendency to fixate on one play or one game and project it to be a season long problem. You see it countless times especially when people complain about players taking penalties.
  18. Lawn chair? How about a massage recliner with a built-in fridge and a long extension cord.
  19. The bombers tampered with Barron Simpson. Signed him one second into free agency. Obviously spoke to him before his contract expired. It happens. No need to exaggerate the time frame to try to make a point. Penton wrote this last year: http://www.torontosun.com/2013/03/08/odell-willis-eskimos-tampering-case-has-a-similar-feel-to-the-barrin-simpson-signing-in-2006
  20. He's been fined $8,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct by the NFL.
  21. I'd be concerned as tampering is a pretty serious thing to do. Would we like it if say Henoc Muamba goes to the Argos after his NFL aspirations fell flat & we found out Barker had discussions with him before Feb.15th? Serious? Last team found guilty of tampering was fined $5000.Actually the last team found guilty of tampering was fined $10,000. Edmonton was fined that last season.
  22. Is Marshall staying in Edmonton? The Eskimos' website still has him and a bunch of other coaches who were there last season listed (Sams, Sweet, Blugh, etc). The only positions without names are ST coordinator, receivers coach and offensive assistant.
  23. That's wrong. He had 6 receptions for 61 yards. He had a couple of big receptions against Hamilton in 2 games - one for 19 yards and the other for 25 yards.
  24. Was he on the PR or the active roster at the end of the season?
  25. I think it was a little of both. Trestman had said he was not comfortable taking AC out of games when they had big leads because of how quickly points could be scored in the CFL. You could say he took the "no lead is safe" slogan to heart.
