  1. I thought someone said he was here for an interview. If that's the case there might not be much said.
  2. Maybe he could use it for motivation purposes. "I've put you on the turf before and I'll do it again"
  3. From the Ottawa Sun: http://www.ottawasun.com/2013/06/08/ottawa-redblacks-president-jeff-hunt-writes-why-the-name-was-chosen-for-the-cfl-team
  4. Statistically that isn't true. TOP for Bomber opponents in 2009 was 30:24 and in 2010 it was 31:14.
  5. I thought Chamblin ordered all his assistants to live in Regina. Pretty sure Chamblin doesn't get to pick where his employees' family lives. Should have put ordered in quotation marks. When he made his assistants report a month earlier I thought he pretty much said he wanted them all to live in Regina. And to answer BFFC's question, Khari's profile says he lives in Regina.

  7. It's more like a continuation of a trend for first time HCs. Not including the Bombers string of first time HCs, Edmonton went from Hall to Reed to Jones - all first time HCs. Milanovich in Toronto. Saskatchewan went from Miller to Marshall to Chamblin - all first times HCs. Montreal going from Trestman to Hawkins - again both first time HCs.
  8. I'm not sure why people seem so down on Kavis Reed and so up on Mark Nelson. Our defense gave up fewer yards per game and allowed fewer points in 2010. We had 15 more QB sacks in 2010 but the 2009 defense had a lot more interceptions. When looking at the other numbers there wasn't much of a difference. I'm not saying hire Reed, I just curious why people think Nelson is better. I know people like to put all the blame on Kelly but it was Nelson that got Barrin Simpson's knickers in a knot. I know a lot of fans didn't like the way Richard Harris was treated that year and to me that falls as much or more on Nelson than Kelly.
  9. When Cal died the Lions website had a tribute which said he graduated from Vancouver College. I checked their website and that's a private all-boys Catholic school.
  10. I'm just now listening to the press conference (about 1/2 way through) and so far I'm really impressed. I really liked his answer when he was asked about how well he knows offence and he said to "truly beat an offence you have to understand what they are trying to do to you". Compare to Tim "I don't know offence" Burke. Night and day. Cal Murphy briefly played for the BC Lions in 1956. He was a quarterback as I recall. And a DB I believe. Gotta love those two way players back then.

  12. Wasn't he cheering for Cortez.
  13. And they will be putting him to work quickly: Wpg Blue Bombers ‏@Wpg_BlueBombers2h Meet new Blue Bombers Head Coach Mike O'Shea at the @BomberStore for an autograph signing, Thursday night from 6-7pm! #Bombers Looks like there was a nice size crowd at the Fairmont for the announcement especially considering the weather:
  14. More comments: Andre Durie ‏@AD3TWO It has been a true honour to have played with and Developed under Coach O'Shea ...wish him all the best in the Peg....except against us. Doug Brown ‏@DougBrown97 Before O'Shea went back into coaching, he was the shoe in to replace Stu Laird as CFLPA president. He was that respected by the player reps Chris Cuthbert ‏@CCtsn It's a good day for the #CFL when somebody like Mike O'Shea, who has given so much to the game, is rewarded with a HC job. #Bombers
  15. Lawless just said "this week". It could have already happened.
  16. This is the Blue Agent email they sent out:
  17. That's not exactly what he said...I caught it on the way home and he said, and stay with me here guys because I know this sounds loony, but O'Shea essentially be the actual HC but bypass on the HC gig and just 'accept' a DC position here, thus allowing Cortez to be promoted from Sask OC to our HC as more of a figurehead title. O'Shea would be the HC but actually hold the DC title, and Cortez would be the OC but have the HC title. Ya... Does that sound as stupid to you as it does to me? It does. All they would have to do is add the assistant head coach title to OC to make it a promotion for Cortez.
  18. Given McManus is based in Florida, I wonder how well he got to know Cortez and what he thinks of Cortez as a HC.
  19. So, one guy in how many camps from different teams? He was gone in half an hour from what I read. I know the Stamps have found most of their players this way. They have camps in the US SE,SW, a couple in California & Florida. The best players from each camp get invited back to the last camp they hold where they offer the best players contracts. That is how I was told the Stamps do it. . I meant it as a joke. Couldn't get the smilies in the post because the bus kept running over snow ruts while I was posting. Note: I have added the smilies.
  20. Regardless of what you think of the restaurant, I think we can all agree that the person(s) who sent emails referencing the KKK is a racist idiot. I don't know what Morris is like. Most likely the majority of people are good, upstanding, tolerant citizens. I can tell you that some of the "person on the street" interviews indicate that there are people there who are racist (the old "I"m not racist but" type people).
  21. Invitation only means you don't get any 50 year old wannabes showing up at them like happened at a FA camp the Riders had a couple years ago.
  22. Below is your post. You said neg list players and TC cuts - nothing about players who were traded. Still waiting for those names.
  23. In other words, it's a lock that Hank will re-sign with the Ticats.
