Pretty scary incident with Trouba in game against Blues. Good news - Trouba has been released from the hospital. He tweeted this around midnight so it looks like he's going to be fine:

He's going to command starter money. And to those who ask "why would we pay it", why wouldn't we? He absolutely deserves starter money. He'd be signing here to be our starter, no sense in pissing around and trying to play the nickel and dime game. Pay the man and get him here. We can't afford not to. IIRC didn't you once say that both Brink and Elliot had contracts that maxed out for more than what Reilly's contract maxes out for? If that's the case there doesn't really seem to be reason to believe the Bombers wouldn't pay him starter's money - would it be more a case of negotiating how much of it would be base and how much would be incentives?

Now people talk (some in jest and some seriously) that any player who is even related to someone in Saskatchewan should not be taken or won't re-sign. It gets rather ridiculous at time. The subject has been raised here & elsewhere. I'm surprised that you never heard this before.Since Labatte left it gets raised constantly. Before he left I don't recall people saying don't draft this guy because he's from Saskatchewan or whatever. A lot of things were said about Etienne when he was drafted and in his first couple seasons but I don't recall the "we develop him and then he signs with the Riders once he starts doing something" talk starting until after he really started showing signs that he could start.

Why do people keep suggesting Etienne would be signed by the Riders? Why would he want to sign with a team where he would be a depth player? And what makes people think the Riders would be interested in signing him?

He is right about what he said about Glenn though. He is not the same physically as he was when he was here.

He throws the whole team under the bus every time he makes comments about doing his best with what he has.

I know there's been a lot of criticism directed at Will Ford at times but you have to admit he had a hell of a game. Was anyone else peeved they didn't get him the ball more. He had 12 touches on offence for 161 yards (11 carries for 156 yards, 1 reception for 5 yards).
