I wasn't giving him any love - it was more a comment about no one giving the Riders defense any credit since they didn't exactly play like a sack of potatoes out there. Man, just cliches... C'mon Jacquie. What game were you watching? If Goltz went 24 of 30 for 385 yds & 3 tds I'd be giving him the credit he deserved. He was 2 of 10 for 12 yards passing at the half... He did better in the second half but a couple of those long completions were just luck. He can't read defenses or pick apart anything. All he can do well is run. This is a guy who's been in the CFL for 4 seasons.... Even as a backup he sits thru meetings & should have learned a few things by now looking at video. I'll give the Riders defense credit on some of his incompletions but not the majority of them or the pick & fumble later in the final minute of the game. Once again I wasn't praising Goltz. Both defenses played better than the offenses with the Bomber defense playing lights out football. Our offense was terrible in the first half and good enough in the second half to put enough points on the board to win. I do believe if our offense wasn't so crappy it could have been a blow-out for us but that doesn't mean the Riders defense doesn't deserve some credit for making the offense look even crappier than usual.

I wish Buck the best. I agree he did a lot in the community. I'm also glad we're moving forward at the QB position now.

Even Suitor thought that was a questionable penalty iirc since Durant didn't really telegraph that he was going to slide.

Goltz obviously didn't have a great game but why not give the Saskatchewan defense some credit?

According to the media he was so well respected throughout the league that other teams were outraged when his contract wasn't renewed and with his experience he would be hired by another team quickly and yet, like you said, he isn't working in the league.

Was he? I don't recall him doing any scouting. I thought one of the reasons they didn't renew his contract was because he didn't do any scouting. And Walters was our Special Teams Coach.... I thought we had a management 'team' back in 2010 when Mack was building for the future... I guess not. Walters was in charge of the draft as well then as I'm sure you know. It was no different than when Bob Dyce coached and did the draft. From what I understand Hodgkinson's duties were the same under Taman, Kelly and Mack and based on what his duties were I don't really know why it was ever suggested he was being blamed for anything.

I thought he was dressed because the Stamps are only carrying 3 QBs and don't want to take Sinopoli out as receiver to hold a clip board as a back-up QB. I do find it a little surprising they haven't brought in another QB.

Lulay was getting creamed and is overthrowing receivers. The Lions can't tackle. Rod Black is his usual nauseating self.

The changes the Esks made to the o-line during half time seem to have helped. Reilly really needs to hook slide.

Seems like Reilly isn't taking as many hits but he's still taking a lot.

Drew Tate was named the Stamps starter for the Oct 21, 2011 game against Saskatchewan. Tonight's game against the Eskimos will be the 31st regular season game the Stamps have played (including the Oct 21 2011 game). Drew Tate has started 8 games and been injured for almost all of the other 23 games.

He had signed a contract. A player doesn't get released if he hasn't signed a contract. And the Bombers do not announce player signings until after the league has approved the contract.

But now he can't even do that because the media blew the other TD celebration out of proportion. It just seems to me that the media in other CFL cities would criticize something like that for one day and then they would move on to write about something else. Here they beat stuff to death and then some.

My mistake. The touchdown he scored where he did the Sheet and Tie put the Bombers up 10. In the second quarter. On the road. Against a team that's 7-1. In a game we haven't won since 2004. During our 7 game losing streak. In a season we're 1-7. I'm just saying. Point is Goltz doesn't do celebrations when we are losing and we weren't losing when he did that.

So a friend of mine was listening to CJOB and told me that Bob Irving said "___________". I didn't hear it myself and can't provide a link or any proof of what was actually said but my friend says he heard it so it must be true.You really think that's proof of anything.

Did you actually hear Bob Irving say it or are you still relying on your friend's spin of what Bob Irving said? Is that really the point you want to argue? Come on. Argue all you want that you think Walters will be GM based on Bomber history or whatever but relying on what your friend claims Bob Irving said is no better than the "friend of a friend's brother-in-law's brother's neighbour said" argument. Did you? Fill us in. No I didn't but I'm not claiming Irving said something that none of us heard firsthand as "proof" Walters will be named GM. If Irving said Walters wasn't going anywhere after the season that isn't proof Walters will be the GM since we have already established that Wade Miller said at the press conference where Walters was named interim GM that Walters would be remaining with the organization if someone else was hired as GM.

It's been reported in the Toronto and Hamilton papers that David Braley (who was on the Pan Am Games board until he was named a senator) had a lot of influence in having the soccer competition held in Hamilton so the Ticats could get a new stadium. Maybe in hindsight he would have been better off having it built in Toronto for the Argos.
