  1. IIRC that was more Chamblin's decision than Hall's.
  2. Pierre Labbe and Chris Greaves are flipping you a pair of birds right now. Also, Billy Pavalopolous is in your garage stealing cans of solvent. Billy just got released, so stealing solvent is a likely scenario. Already. I thought he was just signed.
  3. Herb Zurkowsky @HerbZurkowsky1 I'm told #Als reached out for free-agent CB @dantemarsh, who spent 11 seasons with @BCLions, last week. Marsh is 34. Price was too high.
  4. Lots of rumours he'll end up with the Bombers. And comments that he has made have certainly amped up the rumours.
  5. And an illegal block. We were over due to catch a break though. That wasn't a block. It was just a collision. Stoudermire was running his route and the BC player ran into him.
  6. Why? Lirim punted well. Why not use both.
  7. No one had much interest in Messam when he was available.Well Jacquie, if everyone jumped off a bridge....you get the picture. Sask got Messam for $80K...that still drives me crazy and more than a few posters here even thought signing the guy was a good idea. 80 frick'in K, Jacquie!!!! And last season he was over-paid. He wasn't good in Montreal or for his first season in Saskatchewan. If he had been signed by the Bombers and performed that way the calls for him to be cut would have been deafening.
  8. No one had much interest in Messam when he was available.
  9. Coaching contracts are guaranteed. If any coach signed a 2 year deal and was fired after then he gets paid for the second year. Mike Kelly signed a bunch of his staff to 2 year deals and we had to pay the ones who were fired for that second year. Only contracts that aren't guaranteed are the players. Thing is multi- year contracts for assistants aren't/weren't common.
  10. Not only do the Riders suck on the field but that was a totally pathetic total they gave for the Purolator food drive.
  11. Don't paint all players with the same brush. There are plenty of players who have re-signed with their former team when they could have gotten more money elsewhere.
  12. At the time that info was reported it was thought he was signing with the Eskimos. And if you read the tweet I posted from the Als official feed, they say 2 years. One of those "2 years" might include remainder of this year.It means this season and next - just like you posted before. Not what they said on TSN today. This year plus 2 TSN was wrong. @JacquieWinnipeg: @HerbZurkowsky1 Confused about Muamba contract. Als tweeted it was 2 years which means this season and next season, doesn't it? @HerbZurkowsky1: @JacquieWinnipeg yes
  13. With owners with big wallets who are willing to open them up it should be much better for the team. Add a good schedule and nice stadium that is much better for football than Rogers Centre and it should help get fans out. Rogers, ptuie. That company is run by a family who are just a bunch of CFL-hating wannabe Americans. If Government regulations didn't require them to be headquartered in Canada they'd move to New York faster than you can say "eh?". As a bloke on Esksfans.com pointed out, the silhouette of Rogers Centre is oddly (even though it's sponsored by Shaw, it's still odd) missing from the 2016 Grey Cup Logo. That's because the game will be played at BMO Field. The point is that the silhouette at the bottom is of the Toronto skyline. The Rogers Centre is very much a part of the Toronto skyline. Except in that logo. Ooops. My bad.

  16. They always announce it a year early. The announcements that Vancouver and Winnipeg had been awarded the GC were made in March 2013 and 2014 respectively. That's the problem. GC location should be known more then a year before. Heck, we were at the point where every city had it before starting over. What happened to that? Why does it need to be announced more than a year early? The teams know well before the announcement is made. BTW not every city has had it in the past 10 years - Hamilton hasn't had it since 1996. Both Hamilton and Ottawa will be hosting it in the next few years.

  18. They stopped doing offensive, defensive and ST players of the week/month at the start of the season. There have been weeks when there were no defensive or ST players named. Week 1 players of the week were Trevor Harris, Jeff Fuller and Drew Willy.
  19. if his contract is next year plus option he'll be 28 nobody in the NFL is looking for a 28 year old special teams player and that's all he is There are no option years anymore. A 2 year contract signed now means this year and next season.

  21. It was a condition of the sale iirc.

  23. Holy crap! Some people on that show are amazing. You obviously don't watch Jeopardy or you would know that the American contestants pretty much suck when it comes to the majority of clues about Canada.
  24. Yesterday's episode of Jeopardy had a clue that mentioned the CFL. The category was Literary Before & After and the clue was "A steamy E.L. James book becomes Canadian football's biggest team prize". The correct response was "Fifty Shades of Grey Cup" and yes there was a correct response.
  25. Only 2 years. Wiecek claims Henoc will be getting $250,000 a season but I haven't seen any other numbers so far so take that for what it's worth.
