Save his ass he might. If I was a GM I'd never hire a friend to be a HC. That way if I have to fire the coach, I'm not destroying a friendship so there'd be no second guessing or regret. My conscience would be clear. How many times does it need to be said that Walters and O'Shea were NOT friends when O'Shea was hired.Everything I read says they were friends.Links or it didn't happen. No thanks. How am I supposed to find a link? it's what I've read & heard. You choose to not believe well I don't care. If you've read it then there should be a link somewhere. Then you find it if it means so much to prove me wrong. I've looked and haven't found anything that says they were friends or roommates. You made the assertion so it's your responsibility to either prove it or stop making the claim because that's how it works on message boards. -

O'Donnell refused to sign with the Riders.

Can you elaborate? I'm not familiar with Capers.

What have you got against Chungh?

When Incompetence Isn't Fired, Teamwork Is Destroyed

Obviously you have never been employed by government. -
No he isn't. There are no coaches on staff with the assistant HC title. Nitpick: The DC is Richie Hall, not Ritchie. Why would anyone whose full given name is Richard spell it Ritchie.

Walters has done quite well winning auctions for Bryant, Westerman and Waggoner hopefully his luck continues with Henoc and or Wild. Walters had done quite poorly losing auctions for Collaros, Burris, Lemon, and SVR. Just saying...it's not like he's got the magic touch or something. He loses as many auctions as he wins. We NEED this one. An addition like Henoc would invigorate our organization right now. It's a watershed moment for Walters. Some of those auctions were unwinnable. Collaros got an offer from the Bombers but didn't respond even though it was about the same as what Hamilton offered (he wanted to be closer to home). With Burris, are you suggesting Walters should have matched or gone higher than what Ottawa offered.

MB sucks...but it's hard to blame him for having to gameplan around Brohm as his starter. There isn't a coordinator in the CFL past or present that was going to be able to do anything of value with him, By the same token those Special Teams units that just got their coach fired employ a lot of Kyle Walter's supposed improved Canadian depth. I mean it's hard to believe that Nic Demski and AJ Jefferson running straight forward for punt return touchdowns were the result of being out schemed. Seems more likely we just got out physicalled. The availability to run straight ahead is indeed a scheme problem. On Demski's run, there was a gap vacated. It was a brain fart on the part of the player, and these brain farts have been happening far too often. If a returner gets the edge that's more of a personnel problem. A PR should never go straight up the middle. On Demski's TD it was a line drive punt. The Bomber players were still 15 yards away when Demski caught the ball. Not usually a big fan of a HC wearing coordinator hats, but in this case it had to be done. IF it's true. It's been officially announced by the Bombers. It is true. http://www.bluebombers.com/article/bombers-relieve-special-teams-coordinator-of-duties

Are you suggesting that Wally Buono uses CFL CapGeek to keep track of other teams' spending. LMAO
-
Depends who they hire as GM. Tillman always brings in a buddy to be HC.
-
I don't think Ray would help this team at all. Seriously! Have you been watching the team this year? Willy cant be depended on to play 18 games in a season. But again the point of the post is should we be spending probably $250,000on a defensive player. Ray has missed around 20 games due to injury since 2012. As for spending that much for a defensive player, Henoc is worth it.

It's funny all the negativity about Henoc not coming back to Winnipeg when during the game they were saying they heard he would be coming back to Winnipeg. Kyle Walters said before Henoc went to the NFL that he would match any offer from a CFL team. I can't see him changing his strategy.

The site claims to have sources for all the salaries I mentioned so saying they are guessing doesn't hold water. Bonuses count against the cap so should be included in the totals. There are enough questionable numbers cited that all the team totals should be considered highly suspect.

How many games has Kyle Walters won since he took over? I'd argue our Canadian & especially our American talent isn't a lot better under Walters than it was under Mack who had one...ONE.. lone scout in the US. Look at our quarterbacking situation. The team was in full panic mode last week & until we traded for Nicholls was the worst in the CFL by far. Our OL hasn't improved despite paying big bucks for Picard & Bryant. According to CFL Cap Geek we are the highest paid team in the CFL. What do we have to show for it? No, I don't think Walters has done a good job. It's not a personal vendetta. Have you looked at some of the salaries that are listed for players at that site? Do you really think Adam Bighill, Tanner Marsh, Brian Brohm, Linden Gaydosh, Luc Brodeur-Jourdain and Zach Anderson (to name a few) are making $51,000 a season. And there is no way Brendon LaBatte is only making $170,000 a season. I also find it very hard to believe that SirVincent Rogers signed with the RedBlacks for $110,000 or that Jeff Perrett is only making $100,000 with the Als. That's ridiculous.

And when Thorpe was hired as DC it was said he was HC in waiting. -
Mr Miller, please do NOT hire Brendan Taman in ANY capacity!

Nope to what? -
This doesn't surprise me. Herb Zurkowsky and others had reported that Schonert was on the hot seat while Higgins was still HC. I think most thought he would be fired before Higgins was. In fairness to Dinwiddie, he had very little coaching experience (1 year as an offensive quality control coach) and was thrust into the OC job part way through TC after Worman was fired. He was put in a bad position.
-
Another thing to remember is Henoc genuinely likes Winnipeg. If you look at his Twitter account he follows a number of CFL players but most are Bomber players. He follows the Bombers Twitter feed and various employees of the team. Hopefully that will count for something.

He was a free agent, we didn't release him. We released him early so he could sign.

You saying it's so doesn't make it true. -
Gale's been in the CFL for 3 seasons and has 21 pass attempts. He was the short yardage QB in 2014 but otherwise has not had regular reps at QB. Marve alone has more on-field experience than Gale. In his three years, Gale has to have been in film sessions, watched games, and even run scout teams, so I stand by my statement about CFL experience. And Brohm in his three seasons and Marve in his two seasons have done that as well as start a couple of games. Davis is the only one who has less experience than Gale.

"Friends" is a relative term. If two people know each other, that doesn't automatically make them friends. And if it does, you'd be hard-pressed to find many working relationships in the CFL that didn't start that way, with someone hiring someone else that they are familiar with. O'Shea was a senior at Guelph when Walters came in as a rookie, and they were on opposite sides of the ball (Walters was an RB at the time). They played a grand total of one season together in Hamilton. Exactly. And when O'Shea was hired, he and Walters said after that the only times they got together was at football conferences. Someone on this forum posted earlier that O'Shea and Walters were roommates in college. And the words of O'Shea and Walters would prove that unsubstantiated claim to be wrong.
