  1. No they weren't. You can't touch the QB after he's thrown the ball. Doesn't matter if it's a nudge or a knockdown - it's a penalty.
  2. That's the problem - he wasn't.
  3. He still has as much chance to get 18 as he did before. He can't get one every game now.
  4. It was a penalty. If TSN had shown a decent replay it would have been as obvious as it was live.
  5. I get the feeling they don't really care about anything else other than the Leafs down there. The Leafs seemingly are the only team there with a consistently good attendance, even when they suck. EDIT: Oh, and the Blue Jays obviously. Blue Jays don't have good attendance when they suck.
  6. From a 2012 blog entry by Mike Beamish of the Vancouver Sun:
  7. what's the low-down? What happened?McCoil and his new agent say the Eskimos didn't offer him a 1 year plus option contract when he signed like they are suppose to do so they've asked the CFLPA to look into it to see if they can file a grievance. If it's found that McCoil wasn't offered the 1 + 1 deal he would become an FA in February.
  8. After Picard retires in January they are good ... don't we have one of the best OL coaches in the business? What makes you think Picard is planning retiring in January?
  9. I could tell you but that would be off-topic. Like that matters?!
  10. I wasn't sure if they did review or not which is why I asked. If they did how is this not conclusive enough that it didn't cross? If this is the only angle they had and this is what they are basing their judgment on then it's pretty clear it DID NOT cross. I say they need to mount go pros to those little orange pylons used to mark the goal line from now on Camera angles lie. The replay they showed wasn't straight on the goal line.
  11. They reviewed it. And they didn't have to prove it crossed the line - they needed to find conclusive proof it did not.
  12. Interesting tweet from the sidebar of the site which explains why: Brad Brown @saskawhat Fun fact: #Riders are 1-11 and have given up 372 pts (31/game) in their last 12 games (incl. preseason & playoffs) w/Chamblin running the D.
  13. Question for our Calgary posters, is the Stamps game on Monday because they don't want to have a game during the last weekend of the Stampede or is there some other obscure reason?
  14. I think it was Matt Dunigan who mentioned during the Bomber game that the biggest jump in penalties this year was for procedure penalties. Procedure penalties are offside/illegal procedure, illegal substitution and too many men. In 2014 after week 2 there had been 50 procedure penalties called compared to 77 this season. That's on the players. They don't call PI on a run play. Illegal contact - yes but not PI. Holding in that situation is stupid - stupid by the player.
  15. who was criticizing this move? I know I liked it. Maybe criticizing was a bit strong (for people who post here) but there were a number who didn't like signing him. I think a few of the rabble-rousers at TEP were more vocal in their displeasure. Agreed the only former Argos worth picking up so far has been JFG the others have been busts ( Romby B,. EJ etc ) ...
  16. @murraylp: My bad thumbs: #riders 59-46 in first 3/4. Out scored 61-39 in 4th/OT by same teams. Why I'm a writer and not an accountant. Sorry.
  17. Remember when people were criticizing the Bombers for signing Shell. Not such a bad move now wouldn't you say
  18. He wasn't as good as last week but I wouldn't say he was awful. He was 22 of 31 for 317 yards and threw some nice passes especially to Green.
  19. It would be contacting the kicker, not roughing - 2 different penalties.
  20. From the angle they had it looked like the ball didn't cross the line. Problem is the camera angle wasn't straight on. The official did have a better view.
  21. The Riders have now put Ryan Smith on the 6 game IR but they won't say what's wrong with him. http://www.tsn.ca/riders-place-smith-on-six-game-injured-list-1.328749
  22. Are the scheme's designed by the OC or the o-line coach? I remember Kelly Bates & Doug Brown talking about o-line schemes and they talked only about the o-line coaches- nothing about OCs.
