Ehlers scores OT winner in game seven against Shawinigan
Jacquie replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I am now definitely going to go to a Rockets game, at least if it goes to a game five anyway. I will report back on all four guys - Petan, Morrissey, De Leo and Bittner. But, I will add this caveat, you guys better appreciate me for doing this. -
The future looks bright Jets fans ...

Give away Byfuglien for nothing and the Jets are a better team. Addition by subtraction. No, you're dead wrong. It doesn't work that way. That's called the Oilers model. I'm not saying Chevy should just give Buff away...his job is to get as many assets as he can for Buff. I'm just saying that if Buff were to just go away and we get nothing in return, the Jets are a better team. I realize what you're saying and I completely disagree. And so does Chevy. Ed Tait @WFPEdTait 3h3 hours ago #NHLJets Cheveldayoff: Ladd, Byfuglien big part of leadership group. Do his best to have them a big part of team for many yrs to come. #bn -
People were bitching about Byfuglien and now we know he had a rib injury too. That must have been difficult with his physical style of play. Trek has always used real science as a basis for many of its premises. It's one of the reasons they had science advisors compared to George Lucas just making stuff up. Obviously you've never seen an Orion Slave Girl.

Good god is Getzlaf ever a whiner. -
Round 1 - Game 4 : Ducks @ Jets

Two things... Whenever I hear the name Maroon first thing I think of is Bugs Bunny saying "what a maroon" or "ultra-maroon". Second, when Getzlaf is on the ice should there be an occasional Riders suck chant? -
Oh god are you one of the people who thinks there should be a difference? To me that is a ridiculous idea that science fiction and science fantasy should be separate because there's less sciencey sounding mumbo jumbo in one. Star Wars is pure fantasy. There is very little science in it and using sciencey sounding mumbo jumbo doesn't change that.

^^ That is one of the reasons why Star Wars should be called a space fantasy and not science fiction. Here's a short video of Neil deGrasse Tyson on science in Star Trek and Star Wars: http://www.tmz.com/videos/0_fcv887vq

Bombers add Jordan Reaves to neg list

Leia said she was very young when her mother died. Senator Organa and his wife didn't die until the Death Star destroyed Alderaan from what I understand. Bail Organa didn't die until the Death Star destroyed Alderaan, but nothing was ever mentioned about when her mother died. I looked her up in a couple of Star Wars wikis and apparently there was a trading card set from Topps that said she died when Alderaan was destroyed.

Just watched a clip of the birth scene on YouTube and it was Luke's cheek she touched.

Biggest problem I had was in Episode 2 when Anakin slaughtered the Sand People to avenge his mother's death. No shift in the Force - he shouldn't have still been a Jedi after that. And then he tells Padme about it and she has absolutely no reaction to the news and tries to console him. It was a WTF moment for me.

Padme's death had me shaking my head. Totally contradicted what Leia told Luke about having some memories of her mother.

Sounds like the trip was well worth it.I don't want to start a new thread for this - does anyone know when single game tickets go on sale? If you sign up for the CFL Field Pass newsletter at CFL.ca they usually have a pre-sale code for single game tickets that's good for games league-wide.

Not surprised since you think 5,500 yards is close enough to being 6,000. Reminds me of the first dirty joke I heard about men's abilities to judge lengths.
-
He's had over 5,000 yards once but he said 6,000 yards. There hasn't been a QB in the CFL over 6,000 yards since 2004 (AC did it). I was responding to the gentleman who said if Darian puts up anywhere close to 6000 then the new rules are a joke. In my opinion, 5542 yards (Durant 2010 numbers) qualifies as within the realm of "anywhere close to 6000." Durant putting up those numbers again could simply indicate a career year rather than a broken rule set. I'll just say that your idea of "anywhere close" is different than mine. lol ok so if he puts up 5600 the new rules aren't a joke but if he puts up 5900 the new rules are a joke. Got it. Durant put up 5,500+ yards in 2010. If he put up 5,000+ yards consistently then getting 6,000 yards wouldn't be a stretch but he hasn't. He's gone over 5,000 yards once and 4,000 yards twice.

The only time the Winnipeg media wants to talk to an assistant is when they don't have access. I bet you wouldn't even need one hand to count the number of interviews with assistants that were done when the media had unfettered access to them. This is all the result of the media talking to Gary Crowton and hearing the opposite of what they were hearing from Tim Burke. I think it was a reasonable reaction by the team, but the ban should be lifted now that we are in the second year of O'Shea's tenure. There has never been a suggestion that it was a club rule. Mike O'Shea has said it is his decision.
