Round 1 - Game 1 : Jets @ Anaheim
Jacquie replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I see the Jets home games will be starting about 1 hour later than usual. Oh crap! I hate Sportsnet. Now I'm going to have to temporarily suspend my "any Rogers I have to pay extra for" boycott. -
Sounds like there is quite a buzz at MTS Centre.

The Kings were granted cap relief with regards to Voynov. Ok? And how much did that help them on the ice? Lol cap relief doesn't do you much good mid season when there is nobody to sign. But it does if you want to make a trade.

One of the many really good things about clinching a spot on Thursday is we call all watch this last regular season game without fears of having a heart attack.

I'm still dumbfounded as to why Bettman forced the away uniforms to be worn at home. Bettman didn't force anything. Some of the owners asked for the switch and the rules committee agreed. One of the owners said he had had thousands of requests from fans to make the change but there is also speculation that the switch was made to accommodate teams having third jerseys.

With Pavs watching from the press box this game I hope he won't be sitting out of position.

Flames fans wore red when the team was in white. Seemed to turn out alright. I'm not saying you're wrong, but if we start following what ******* FLAMES *fans* are doing........then I'm all the way out..... I don't think you are getting it, the Flame "fans" copied Winnipeg. Winnipeg was the innovator. The only thing that comes close for originality was the towel power of the 1982 Canucks. The Flames did red first. The Jets did white and a lot of teams copied the white.

Funny tweet: Great night for NHL teams that used to play in Atlanta. — John Chidley-Hill (@jchidleyhill) April 10, 2015

Jets are calling for a white-out so case closed.

WOO HOO!!!! Play-offs!

The ice in the face-off circle to Berra's left (1st & 3rd) sure seems crappy. I can't believe the number of players who have fallen with no one around them.
-
I really don't see why they would release Morley. He can play a number of different positions on the o-line so good to have as a 6th o-lineman.
-
The Flames did it with red first but we did it better with white. I lived in Calgary at the time and can remember their fans accusing Winnipeg fans of stealing it.

White Cop Shoots Black Man, Charged With Murder
Jacquie replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in General Discussion
The video I saw shows the end of the scuffle and I don't think the taser was actually fired. The video does show after the shooting the cop running back to where the scuffle occurred, picking something up and dropping it (the taser) next to the man. Staging the scene shows he knew he wasn't justified in shooting the man. -

Aren't you doing the same thing by using race in the title of your thread? -
Pav is starting to lose, back to Hutch ...

In some really weird way "that goal" against the Blues seems to be the best thing that could have happened to him. He's been on fire since then. -
The Wild Card race aka hockey's Final Four
Jacquie replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I'm not sure whether my heart can stand it. We win 1 more game or Kings lose 1 more and we're in. Big game against the Avs on Thursday and here's hoping the Flames beat the Kings too. I thought they've clinched a playoff spot but not the 1st wild card spot. Wild have a couple tough games to close the season (Nashville and St. Louis) - they lose out and we win out, we have more points. My bad. Who wants to play Anaheim tho? That team is together. As of right now, the 2nd wild card team would play Anaheim, wouldn't they. They have 107 points to the Blues 105. Blues, Preds and Hawks have tougher last 2 games than Anaheim has as well. -

So by your definition of benched, Price was benched against us and Elliott is benched tonight because not playing means benched. So Price hasn't played 10 games in a row? There's a difference between benched and giving your number one goalie a rest. Jacquie that's a really childish point you made there comparing Price's situation to Hutch. That wasn't my definition at all. C'mon man! I'm not the one being childish. And don't "c'mon man" me. Maurice didn't rotate goalies because they were both playing badly. And when he did go with Hutch it was because he was hot. A player not playing doesn't necessarily mean that the player is playing badly or that he was benched. You made the comparison between Price and Hutch's situation and it was terrible. C'mon man. Your not knowing the difference between a man and woman explains a lot. -
That was a dirty play by Oshie. That replay sure looked like he purposely head butted Stuart. And gosh is it ever nice to have a "controversial" call by an official go our way.
