Funniest CFL player Twitter handles ...
Jacquie replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
In his prime he was. -
How sad. Condolences to his family and friends.

Another great game by the Jets and Pavs was fantastic. And to top it off - Wild lost.

He is black - the first black person to be named the head of a professional sports league in North America. Black is a racist word.. where are the moral mods? Someone should tell the new Commissioner that:

Mr. Sulu & Uhura disagree with you. So does Chekov. Iso, by "main stars" are you referring to just Shatner, Nimoy and Kelly?

So you think the CBC should have outbid SportsNet for NHL broadcasting rights? SportsNet blew TSN out of the water with their bid. And I believe the CBC is mostly funded by taxpayer dollars. No. I believe they had an opportunity to hold onto the deal they had for Saturday games and a share of the playoffs with a reasonable offer. They took HNIC for granted and were stunned when the league balked at their offer excluding them. They were not a player for national rights. I haven't seen that reported anywhere, that CBC had an opportunity to keep HNIC rights. They did not. My friend is a mid-level management person at CBC and CBC was directed to drop NHL hockey as it conflicted with TSN and Rogers' interests. That's an interesting conspiracy theory, but is just that. At the end it came down to just Bell and Rogers because CBC made a low ball offer for the Saturday/playoff package. The bidding took place over the course of years. The NHL was very hesitant to exclude CBC due to how important the HNIC brand has been and were willing to work with them but were really left with little choice because of the terrible offer by comparison. It was a miscalculation by Lacroix and Orridge, the NHL called their bluff and sold that national package along with the rest of the national rights to Rogers. Widely reported in the national papers in the weeks following the announcement of the Rogers deal, especially the Globe and Mail and very similar to what happened with the CFL rights in 2007. source? I'd like to know that source too. From what I've read, the problem was the NHL wanted to scale back the package the CBC had and the CBC didn't want to do that.

I'm not saying we are guaranteed to get Harris or Coombs when they become free agents, but Harris is different as he played junior football in BC and was a territorial exemption pickup for BC. He wasn't a local kid that grew up here and played their football here. Harris was born in Winnipeg and played high school football here before going to BC to play junior football. He is also here in the off-season iirc. How is that not a local kid? I didn't say he wasn't a local kid, I said that he didn't grow up here AND play his football here. The original post insinuated that Harris being born here didn't work out for him coming back to Winnipeg, comparing that to Coombs and Demski. I said it wasn't a valid comparison because Harris played his junior football in BC and had four years playing there to put down roots, make friends, and get accustomed to the place, regardless of whether or not he comes back here to visit family. That was a really badly worded sentence then because that is exactly what you wrote even if it wasn't what you meant.

Zontar, this is from TSN: He's a permanent resident who is in the process of becoming a Canadian citizen.

Big win! Super game by Pavs.
-
Buff not ready to go yet.

Cohon is an American as well. He was born in the States but moved here when he was 2.
-
He and his family have been in Canada since 2007 and are about to become citizens. I believe he talked about watching the CFL during the press conference.

And that's probably without any sprint technique.coaching.I doubt that. The school he goes to is a private school founded in 1584 and charges £30,000 (over $55,000 Cdn) a year. Their website says the Athletics section has 12 coaches and they bring in former Olympic and world champion calibre athletes as guest coaches.

Lawless was right. The new Commissioner is Jeffrey Orridge.

The kid's name is Tyrese Johnson-Fisher and he won the English Schools' Championships junior boys' 100 meter title with a time of 10.91 seconds. For a comparison, Brandon Banks' fastest high school 100 meter time was 10.42.

Off-topic for a second - to the mod who split this from the other one, love the name you gave this thread.

Paul Friesen ✔ @friesensunmedia #NHLJets Maurice showed his sense of humour, sort of, when asked about TB coach Jon Cooper blaming Enstrom for Kucherov hit. Quote to come. Paul Friesen ✔ @friesensunmedia Maurice on blaming Enstrom: You really shouldn’t bang your face off the dasher when you get run from behind. We’ll talk to him about it.

Probably around the same time Buff and Myers got healthy, Postma suffered a sprained roster management joint. If it was just a roster move Maurice wouldn't have said it was a significant injury. According to reports on Twitter, he was injured during the 2nd period but was able to finish the game. Amazing what adrenalin can do.

Actually it's not open to interpretation. Read the Free Press article then (on their website). There's a clear separation by a header between the draft discussion and the FA camp discussion. The discussion on the big X receiver is about import free agent camps, not the draft. And when you look at it on their website, the part about FA camps and X receivers are in a side bar with multiple lines between them which means they are 2 separate thoughts implying the Bombers wish to sign X receivers any way they can't get them - draft or FA.

Waud turned some heads in the States when he played in the Shrine Bowl - he's could be NFL bound.

You're going to have to wait. He's only 15.
