  1. The problem is you started your argument with an assumption about cowboy church based on nothing but a stereotype.
  2. Every time I hear the name Barberio the first thing that pops in my head is Conan.
  3. And the last few pages of this thread have nothing to do with slagging Rider fans. And we have yet another thread ripe for a purge of posts to the general discussion forum. June can't come soon enough.
  4. As opposed to Sterling Lyon who referred to Manitoba women as "good breeders" and Filmon with his vote-rigging scandal? Or premier-hopeful Brian Pallister who calls non-Christians "infidels"? One incident of idiot staffers doesn't ruin a great legacy of Filmon. Would take him back any day. The PC's campaign manager, a party bigwig (who didn't learn anything from it and tried to rig another election 4 years later in a relative's riding), Filmon's Chief of Staff and the Secretary to Treasury Board - those aren't just any staffers - they were all trusted advisors and friends of Filmon. What legacy does Filmon have? Firing nurses, privatizing MTS, making cuts to social services, etc, etc. Mods, maybe it's time to split off the non-IGF discussion from this thread. This has gone so off topic.
  5. Wonder if they were the best qualified for the job in the tendering process, or simply the best they could get with union affiliation. According to jayrock at TEP (he's a draftsman who worked on the project), SOD did the concrete themselves.
  6. How on earth did you come up with a figure of "tens of millions"?!?! Start adding up the cost Jacquie. From what it was supposed to cost to now. Then add in the work that needs to be done to fix things right. How much will it cost just to gut the cement concourses & replace them alone? What it was supposed to cost was $200M before the extra $10M in improvements was added. Win the lawsuit and it is going to cost nothing for the repairs listed.

  8. Probably anal aperture issues. Anal what??? aperture - hole Personally I think Chamblin is just being Chamblin. If he has a problem with a player's "character issues" then why is Taj Smith still on their roster.
  9. According to my wife, that myth has been disproved. Your wife's just being nice to you.
  10. I would if board advertising would have to be changed. Not a problem if the sponsors buy ads for both teams but not all of them may want to do that. A number of AHL games are shown on Sportsnet. Teams also have local broadcasts and there is an AHL Game Centre just like the NHL has.
  11. Three of the four are the same team that won. If any position other than skip had changed I doubt you would have said that.
  12. Someone tweeted a question to Lawless about the team playing in Saskatoon and his response was "no - can't see them trying to push the Blades out of business". Same would go for Regina.
  13. All Albertans have to do is ' look in the mirror' and voila..there's the problem according to Jim. Don't mention the fact that the conservative government there has been running the finances forever. Quite a laugher. Maybe not all Albertans - just the ones who kept voting in a Conservative government forever.
  14. Don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed as daylight savings time starts at 2:00 am Sunday.
  15. Looks good. I hope I can make arrangements to see it at a theatre.
  16. I can't see them changing concession prices. It would be much too time consuming changing the pricing in the cash registers and any pricing displays depending on who is playing. It would also garner way too many complaints from Jets ticket holders and from ticket holders of non-hockey events.
  17. With the number of events held at the MTS Centre, the AHL schedule makers are going to have a fun time making up a schedule for the Moose.
  18. I remember reading/hearing that Laval didn't want the CFL there too.
  19. They contributed quite a bit to IGF. No they didn't. They gave money for the UoM fitness centre. None of the fed money went directly into the stadium. As the old saying goes "there's more than one way to skin a cat." Don't know how that saying fits the situation. The feds' contribution did nothing for the stadium or the Bombers.

  21. A federal election is coming up this year, so a lot of promises will be made, and some may actually be kept, so who knows? The last federal election, the Tories promised funding for a new arena in Quebec City, so maybe, just maybe.... I don't remember the federal Conservatives ever saying they would give funding to an arena in QC. They've been quite adamant that federal funding will not go to facilities whose main occupant would be a pro team for a number of years.
  22. I miss Beyak. Randorf makes the game seem boring as hell.
  23. Wonder if Clarkson's is insured. He's apparently out for the rest of the season now.
  24. The Jets management and coaching staff have a few rings as well.
  25. The Brier has had more drama and strange things going on this year than others. First a broom breaks when a guy was sweeping. Then a handle comes off a rock in another game. Followed by "broom-gate and, last night, a hog line violation that wasn't. One of those things happening is unusual so to have all that in the first days is downright strange.
