  1. Curious what it is makes you say that. I can't recall having tried them but always curious the why people don't care for certain things.
  2. You want a balanced budget then let's talk about the way to achieve that... raising taxes, particularly on corporations and the super wealthy.... but no-one is talking about that.
  3. Those things aren't the economy. The economy cares not for individuals and their plight, only about the money the country is making. Doesn't matter if it's only a few making that money.
  4. Actually the Liberals have done incredibly well for the economy... it came roaring back hugely after the worst of the pandemic and still manages to keep growing after the bank of Canada's interest rate hikes which are designed to slow an economy... unless you mean something else when you say economy...
  5. Yikes. Trudeau is a spoiled rich kid who is woefully out of touch with the common person. For him it's not theatre so much as just not having a clue. Pollievre on the other hand is a career politician who hasn't had any sort of job outside of politics. He is grandstanding because everything to him is about trying to score political points. That is far worse than Trudeau IMO.
  6. Would it though? Or would Milhouse just yell and scream if it didn't say what he wanted it to? This is all theatre plain and simple.
  7. David Johnson such a Trudeau lackey that Stephen Harper appointed him governor General.... given how much Harper despised everything Trudeau do you really think if the guy was a Trudeau stooge he would have even been in the conversation? And let's be real here, Canadian government has been cozying up to China for decades. The Chretien government loved Chinese money and the Harper government sold the country to them in a free trade deal. Foreign interference is happening from more than China sadly. We got extreme right wing Americans influencing politics up here, Russia does what Russia does with their bot farms. God knows who else. This is why it is damned important to be an informed voter.
  8. Long weekend, rain in the forecast, general calgary fan apathy... yeah this one was always going to be tough to sell.
  9. Well kenney said the crazies were taking over before they tossed him. And a lot of the former PCs have just left the party. Many are backing the NDP who have a very centre-right platform this election. The problem is a lot of voters in calgary see blue and vote for it without thought.
  10. I remember when kamau incompleterson used to post on our ourbombers and said when you're 6'4 you're always open. Give a guy a few more inches and it's just cheating.
  11. It's not 1975-1990 anymore. The world has changed. Economies globally have become even more tied and a hiccup in another country can have a huge impact on supply. China shuts down where does the west's cheap **** come from? We don't manufacture anything ourselves.
  12. Then why is inflation happening around the globe? Ukraine supplies a lot of food to Europe and Russia a lot of energy. Those two fighting had impacted that which has a ripple effect across the rest of the world. You had a lot of the manufacturing shut down during the pandemic and it was slow to ramp back up to meet demand as economies came back on line. These things push inflation more than government spending.
  13. Was going to say, sounds a lot like government over reach and limiting the market. Big government interfering in entrepreneurs ability to make money. What needs to happen is more housing needs to be built. There is a shortage and it's only getting worse.
  14. Well anyone who thinks it won't be bighill in the middle isn't paying attention. Clements will start in Wilson's spot if he isn't ready to go. Holm and Parker were close in the coaches eyes last season and by the sounds of it Holm has had a nice camp so he gets a bump. Eli won't start the season, Zach has missed the last few days and it's practice. He will look like a vet when he was there. Honestly this team always treats the first few weeks of the season like extended preseason. The incumbents will start and you won't see jobs stolen until later in the year because that's how it's always been with these guys.
  15. They're aren't a lot of battles to be had IMO. Biggest one is probably DT and that's not always something easily seen by a layman at practice. If Wilson can't go it's honestly probably just Clements unless someone else blows the doors off.
  16. Every time I hear about loblaws saying they're not gouging because their profit margins haven't changed... go **** yourselves, you're making billions while people are struggling. You can take a hit on the profit.
  17. Yes Mr. Pollievre. That's why we see global inflation. Because the Canadian government prevented people from going homeless and businesses from shutting down during the pandemic. It's not war in Ukraine putting stress on global good supplies, it's not a loss in productivity because of all the shutdowns, its not blatant corporate greed.
  18. I really dislike the comparisons to the 80s going on. The world was a very, very different place than it is now. The difference in the price of houses alone makes even a slight bump in interest rates that much more significant. The economy was built on cheap debt, with that cheap debt I dunno how it keeps going.
  19. Was click bait and it's annoying.
  20. Yeah it's not the prime rate, it's when people renew. You locked in at like 1.5% or whatever ridiculously low rate before the rate hikes you're going to jump to 5,6,7% on your renewal.
  21. Yeah but the last guy to do it was a great receiver and it's only happened 4 times. It's not something a very good receiver can accomplish.
  22. There's always some dipshit American believes the crap about the cfl being bush league.
  23. I just don't understand why people think a guy who's only career has been pointing out what others are doing wrong is fotnto lead anything.
