  1. Ok the D would be good yes, but we would be back to the lapo relying on field goals offense and considering our kicking situation....
  2. Bomber fans are just taken for granted. We stick with our team no matter what so the cfl doesn't feel the need to spend much time on thr Bombers.
  3. I love how we are now pretending that it wasn't the lapolice offense when he was the head coach here... in 02 he stepped into a good team, remember that in 01 khari was MOP MOP the team won 14 games. Under lapo they won less each consecutive year. And when he was head coach he had one stretch of winning, when swaggerville was doing it all. Then the third time he was here he jumped in to a team already on the rise. The long term work walters and oshea put in was starting to pay off. Can anyone honestly say that they think this team would be as good if we still had lapo here? Would collaros be having the season he is? Would Lawler? Or Bailey? Not sure why people fall all over themselves to defend the guy. He has never developed a qb or taken them to new heights, in fact just the opposite, he tends to make them worse the longer they play for him... Give me Buck Pierce any day of the week.
  4. Even when ripping the league a new ******* the team still doesn't get enough respect and what they do get is given grudgingly. It's fine, I am sure the team is anxious to prove it again.
  5. He was the head coach, but he was also the offensive coordinator. For a supposedly brilliant offensive coach why was it the D that was the thing carrying the team?
  6. Lapo didn't win that much here. As a head coach he needed his defence to get whatever wins they got. He took over a top offence in 02 and presided over a steady decline despite having some all time players to work with. In his latest stint he directly cost us several games with his useless playcalling, I would go so far as to say we might have got a cup sooner if not for him because his game plan in the 2018 west final was utter dogshit. It was crap again in the 2019 west final top but thank God the riders offense was terribad. So no tagging along for a Grey Cup doesn't make lapo great all of a sudden, he is still the same flawed and over rated coach he has always been. Honestly does anyone think the Bombers would be 10-1 right now if we had still had Lapo?
  7. But what if the argos wind up first in the east and the voters decide that Dinwiddie is coach of the year for resurrecting the argos? After all, oshea simply kept a good team good.
  8. Lapo gets brought up because he was part of this team for a long long time in 3 seperate stretches... and the same problems that were there the first time were still there the 3rd time and followed him to Ottawa too. Yet he still has a legion of fanbois who think he's something special.
  9. Yeah but the league won't give it all to the Bombers so they'll find some reason to give something to someone else.
  10. remember in game one of the season when Hamilton barely got the ball over his hands for their touchdowns pass and the panel were all guffawing about rookies in the secondary for winnipeg? Good Times. Alford was literally half a step away from an interception on the play and they were quick to **** all over him.
  11. because he never pays his bills
  12. I thought this was the crapping all over arrogant Desjardins thread? After those expansion draft comments this whole situation looks great on him.
  13. There isn't a single player on Ottawa worth taking.
  14. How much influence did lapo have in selecting Nichols and Davis as his 2 qbs though?
  15. I wasn't overly worried about the secondary because walters has brought in gem after gem after gem for the secondary in his time here.
  16. What is stubbornness if not arrogance?
  17. Lapo might be humble outside football but as a coach he is extremely arrogant. Remember how much he talked about needing to have more input into the players on offence? Think about how nothing ever changes... it's his offense and if you don't fit then you won't make plays. Some people might consider it simply being poor coaching but it is really the arrogance. He KNOWS that he is the smartest guy there. He might not be brash and in your face about it, but the arrogance is real nonetheless
  18. Based on his arrogance.
  19. Those 2 ints BLM threw in the 4th quarter weren't good plays by the dbs or anything, just absolute ducks tossed up by a qb who doesn't have the arm he used to. Honestly I want to see the Bombers play him because he ain't super mobile and if his arm isn't up to snuff he will get what Reilly got on Saturday night
  20. Lapo is incredibly arrogant.
  21. I am not going to disagree, but I think they're different kinds of backs and probably bring a somewhat different element. Oliveira seems more of the grind it out guy where as Augustine is a more explosive player.
  22. Bombers vs. The assembled choir of heavenly angels?
  23. I was first!
  24. Let's go Bombers! Lock up first place!
  25. It's free yardage and often at big moments. You can see it with the Bombers those times they start taking penalties... the team gets bigger down and struggles. To me it's really easy to cut back on penalties, you hold player accountable either by fines or playing time. They will clue in pretty quick.
