  1. I totally buy that. I've done consulting work for almost 15 years now and I've worked for all sorts of people and I can tell you the worst people to work for are the assholes who don't recognize that you're a person with **** going on that isn't related to whatever project they've hired you for.
  2. Zuckerberg is just the epitome of a nerd who doesn't understand human feelings. Everything I know about the guy tells me he's really an ******* who doesn't know how to interact with people normally.
  3. A big part of fixing the policing issue in the states would be if they got serious about gun control too. When everyone might be packing heat it means the cops are always on edge about that as well as all the other systemic issues. Bottom line that country has a lot of problems that they simply refuse to even try and tackle.
  4. Yeah but they de-escalte how will they be able to shoot someone?
  5. It's not that society is too scared, it's that it's a lot of work to ensure guidelines are followed.
  6. 2 things, there is generally more air flow outdoors so close contact is less of a problem, however you stand or sit close to people outdoors you're still upping the chances of catching something. second thing: viruses spread less well in the heat than they do in colder dry climates. So yeah as we transition into summer outdoor gatherings will not be as big of a problem. You still can't just pretend that it's a big nothing burger and must still take precautions.
  7. Trump is so dumb and weak that he thinks you just brutalise protestors to get them to stop. He clearly doesn't understand why these protests are happening. Just a pathetically weak human being that thinks being a bully is being strong. Strength is Joe Biden going to a protest and showing understanding. Strength are the police who joined the protestors. Weakness is cowering in a bunker, or hiding behind your tough guy security detail or screaming from safety to hurt people. If there was a guideline for showing leadership in times of crisis Trump always does the opposite. It is staggering to me that he can be so incapable. I mean surely you would think that he would even accidentally do the right thing at least once... but everything has been a complete disaster. He had the easiest job in the world coming out ahead with the pandemic and these protests, but he fumbled both of them because he let his ego get the better of him. Doing the right thing would have made people look at him in the light he wants to be seen in, instead he acted like a monkey throwing **** everywhere.
  8. This is why people are protesting. ******* cops tripping on their power. It's too celebrated. I have even heard stories from people I know who became cops boasting about the liberties they've gotten to take when placing people in custody. Hell we saw it in Lethbridge with the cops busting up the lady in a storm trooper costume. You get too many school yard bullies with no career options but cops and they continue their bullying behaviour.
  9. I really really want everyone in the press conference to start asking her what exactly it is about anti-fascists that bothers them so much.
  10. Same thing he does about any news he doesn't like. Either ignore it or decry it as fake news or both.
  11. Oh no I read it. Did you? Some people think the virus has weakened. Others risked caution at jumping to conclusions. But facts are facts. Italy took big steps to limit the thing after it got out of control. Now it seems like less of a problem. It's always been about controlling the thing initially to buy time rather than just having a free for all of spreading. As we have seen in places slow to react that free for all gets messy.
  12. The relationship between Canada and indigenous people is broken for a lot of different reasons than what's going on in the states. I mean it's still a real gong show with so many reserves being so impoverished (which predictably leads to worse outcomes for the people living there) but it is a different animal and one that is much much harder to over come than simple discrimination.
  13. tax payers duh
  14. Italy forced people to remain in their homes.... why are we surprised that when you take away it's ability to spread that it stops becoming such a problem?
  15. The reality is that a lot of america is still sore about slavery being outlawed and blacks being given the same rights as them. The racism runs deep in a lot of places. I mean they fought a civil war about wanting to own other humans.... in the grand scheme of things it wasn't even that long ago.
  16. So you are just willing to ignore the root cause? The bullies did nothing wrong? They did nothing to make the kid feel like that was his only resort? If you don't address the cause of the issue you will keep having the same problems. Fact is black people are still heavily discrimated against in the USA. The deck is stacked against minorities. Poverty begets poverty which begets criminal behavior. It is a vicious cycle that needs to be broken.
  17. and people think it's hyperbolic when I talk about Trump becoming a dictator. All the pieces are there.
  18. Yeah I'm someone who leans right, but the current crop of conservatives are so backwards it's pushed me completely away.
  19. And have you stopped to consider why that culture exists? The disenfranchisement of a race leads to poverty which leads to all of those criminal elements. This isn't about black people being inherently shitty people. It's about them being stuck in a shitty situation with no way out. Which is a huge part of what they are protesting.
  20. Yeah people can talk about this bubbling under the surface in America for ever, and that's 100% true. However the current administration actively encourages that bigotry and racism and is actively emboldening these **** heels. That's a huge problem. These people need to be shamed into changing their ways or at least shamed into hiding their true feelings. Not told by the president that they are very fine people.
  21. The lies Kenney told were about job creation. Everything is promise made, promise kept.
  22. Well it makes sense that trump and co. Would have major issues with an anti-facist group like antifa...
  23. WE ALL KNEW THIS WAS WHAT HE WAS GOING TO DO BECAUSE IT WAS IN HIS PLATFORM!!!!!! You are the epitome of someone who voted for the leopards eating faces party and then acting surprised when the leopards eat your face.
  24. I lost all faith in albertans to do the right thing last time.
