I mean it's really simple, you want a strong economy you need a robust middle class with disposable income. It's the bottom rungs that drive an economy not the top 1%. Invest in the lower classes and give the ability to spend money the economy will grow to meet this spending.

In a pandemic why not? It's the ordinary working stiffs who need the most help, why not cut out the complications and just say everyone is getting a minimum income to keep food on the table and roof over your head? Hopefully when this all blows over we as a society can seriously re-evaluate how much we give away to the already rich and powerful and we can get some proper protections in place for the working class.

Be better off giving money to employees who lose their jobs. Businesses have proven time and time again that any money doesn't get passed on to people. Perhaps it's time for a universal basic income.

But remember, a month ago no one was talking about it.

I wouldn't worry if I was her, this government is very open with their racism.

Speaking from an Alberta perspective, which I am assuming is largely the same, you can open a day home without being licensed, it's just that licensed ones have standards and oversights from the government. My son is in a licensed day home, but it's just a lady in her home and the only kid is her own son right now, but we worry that eventually the body will say to close even though she's fine taking him now.

yup and then when grandma and grandpa die or sick little timmy down the street they wonder why the gubbermint didn't prevent this. The sheer number of people who simply don't understand that this is a team effort to prevent spreading this thing to all sorts of vulnerable people is staggering.

don't forget kushner crowd sourcing ideas on facebook

My company in Calgary (and presumably will be doing the same for their offices in Edmonton, Ottawa and now Winnipeg) basically told everyone to work from home where we can. Seems like it's the sensible thing to do for jobs that can work remotely. Why commute to an office and spread germs all along the way when everyone has the ability to be connected to everything anyway.

Might as well do nothing then.

Because if you hire someone to dress you they will dress you better than that.

Time to stop playing by Republicans rules. They are not interested in any compromise so stop pretend they are acting in good faith. Play on their level or else things will continue to slide into the abyss.

I saw some clips and he definitely gives the impression that he's sick. ******* arrogant ******* gonna infect a bunch more people because of his idiocy. You can't bullshit a pandemic away and trying to is only going to make things worse. Best course of action is be upfront about everything and give people good solid information they can use. This is a global thing. It's bigger than one piece of **** trying to get re-elected.

Well the Libs won't pwn themselves

This is what a president looks like when all they know how to do is stick to a lie and hope people believe you. He is damned lucky there are as many rubes in the world as their are.
-
What a load of crap.
-
People only hate Trump because his policies are 100% awful. He is the bad combination of a raging narcissistic ******* without being a good president.
-
Nah, they've been working hard to make sure people associate democrat and socialist for a long time.

Once again, point missed. The point isn't believing anything just because it is reported. It's about knowing what is true and what isn't. You don't have to watch media all the time to know when someone is being untruthful. For example, global news was on the other day and the lady interviewing an expert was engaging in leading questions trying to get certain answers. It's not that the expert was being untruthful, just he was being led to answer in a certain way. But you can parse through what was being said and take the truth and discard the nonsense. And again you make it partisan. It's not about being partisan, it's about being pragmatic. If a "leftist" idea is good it's good. If a right wing idea is bad it's bad. Nothing Trump is doing is good, and what the left is suggesting is far superior. But you keep on pretending that leftists are the real danger.
