  1. Ctv and tsn are one and the same so no point in even discussing a difference there. Sportsnet I think is regretting spending like drunken sailors on the nhl and cbc doesn't want to spend much money on sports. The situation in Canada is not great for getting a big TV deal in my opinion.
  2. Well not exactly... not like it's permanent sterilization. Violating peoples autonomy certainly but there is a difference.
  3. The residential school clusterfuck is a big reason for a lot of the problems on reserves now too. You rip families apart and it's no wonder the kids don't know how to be normal and that gets passed down the line. It really is shameful.

which is a shame cause the chinese one is pretty underwhelming compared to the other.
  5. Sadly I don't think you can pin this one on just religion. The government is just as guilty. Reality is that this was all about assimilation.

I can definitively say that Alberta would have been better off with Rachel.

You know why they say that right? It's because that is the length of time they studied. For liability purposes they will only ever talk about their own studies.

Yeehawwwwwww! New event at stampede this year, Covid wrangling. ******* kenney banking on vaccines big time. Seems like a more cautious approach would be the smart thing.

Then why did he have Rudy making an ass of himself left right and centre? Trump has the means to hire the best people, but he refuses to pay them so he doesn't actually hire the best people.

That hit us out here in Alberta a few weeks ago. It is very frustrating to know you have tried to to what's right but so many others don't and let this crap continue because they just have to have people over or constantly go out to restaurants. A little patience and we could have stayed home when cases were low and let vaccine rollout pick up and avoid a lot of crap, but no, people again thought it was over and set us back months.

    You can't get fooled again.

That's because it was based on sound evidence. Vaccine manufacturers stuck to their recommendations purely for liability reasons. They didn't have test data themselves so would not commit to anything they didn't study. But people with a shallow understanding of things took that to mean those companies knew best and the government was making an uninformed decision.

However if less people are getting sick because they're vaccinated doesn't it stand to reason that we will see less tests and a higher positivity rate?

ICU is a lagging indicator so it makes sense it takes longest to fall. Those numbers are the people who got sick and then got bad enough to need the ICU. They will either recover or die and less people will be there to take their place in the ICU but it's behind the case numbers and even hospitalizations.

not to mention that these people forget, or are ignorant to the fact that there are mechanisms in our constitution that allow the government to suspend personal freedoms

Deny what evidence? I am waiting for you to provide some . The evidence for Trump is well documented. So please share all this evidence. Or if we are just supposed to take your word for it thanks for wasting everyone's time.

The Republicans invested a lot of time and energy to find anything on Biden and had to make up **** about Hunter's laptop. So please show some evidence. Same for Hillary Clinton. We will leave Bill out cause he has some skeletons in his closet for sure, but nowhere near what the Republicans have.

That's not exactly 2 tier healthcare though. Maybe it was designed to be a slippery slope towards it but not exactly campaigning on 2 tier Healthcare.

What blows my mind is that people can see this naked authoritarian power grab and shrug their shoulders and think "both sides are the same" Truly do not understand
  21. 17to85 replied to Rich's topic in General Discussion
Ok please show your work on these claims. Let's see specific examples, with legit sources, of all the things the democrats are doing that are exactly the same as what Republicans have been getting away with. I'll wait.

yeah people who weren't in the first age groups have been champing at the bit to get their turn. I was able to get my first shot today. System was pretty slick the whole way through. No complaints at all.

Was speaking about the whole country. Not nearly enough restrictions on people coming in to consider anything that was done a hard lockdown.
  25. 17to85 replied to JCon's topic in General Discussion
Probably more like 4 or 5 weeks, but you are correct. They could done a hard shutdown and stopped this crap in it's tracks. Instead we got pansy governments afraid to make the hard decisions so we dragged this out for over a year now.
