  1. Did Lawler make much of an impact here after his edmonton misadventures?
  2. That's my recollection. Simon spent the 01 season in the NFL and Bruce had emerged that year.
  3. I have always hated this description of it... it was JUST Robert Gordon, it was also Arland Bruce as a young guy and he turned out pretty good too.
  4. Well it's also a case of a hold over from the year before, so not really new new....
  5. So you said acceptable offer... that to me doesn't necessarily mean asking price, it means a starting point in his opinion. Cause I remember listening to Walters year end presser last year and he basically went through a bunch of guys (including Ford) that he said we're going to be getting paid and he was doubtful they'd be able to bring them back. What we have going on here now is a disconnect between coach and GM. We got a gm willing to move on from players and a coach resistant to playing new guys. Something will give eventually
  6. So what that is, is Walters heard the ask from their camp and moved on. Simple as that. If walters decides a guy is going to get too much money he seems to just go on to the next. Players of course get all butthurt because they figure everyone should be kissing their feet.
  7. Will give case a chance, but like everyone you gotta produce to keep that spot. I am still less concerned with the receivers and more concerned with collaros and thr DL.
  8. Well I'm thinking he probably gets hurt at some point and changes will be forced. Or we see more ass kickings and they suddenly realize status quo isn't going to get it done anymore.
  9. Yeah collaros is being rewarded way too much for 19 and 21, one of those years he wasn't even a main factor in the game. Dude's old and not the same guy he was. He can't be the unquestioned starter anymore.
  10. And the fact that for the remainder of the year Brown did more with the same team as Zach. That offseason was the time to make the big move and lock in with Brown (and have Streveler as his backup) and ship collaros and his boat anchor of a contract but for whatever assets you can get.
  11. So what you're saying is, guys who have only played 3 games have less stats? And Alexander a d collaros are a whole 2 yards different. Like I said, not a big sample size.
  12. now I'm all onboard the Collaros is cooked train, but dude has had 2 bye weeks plus a suspension so he's played 3 games. Not exactly a lot to go on.
  13. **** them all but especially **** the riders.
  14. And like I said, if Eli isn't better... then time to move on and find someone else because kolankowski for my money is the teams weakest starter and needs to be replaced 2 years ago. If that has to be by an American so be it, but let's stop wasting time on a guy like that.
  15. Were they? The offense was beyond useless the last 3 Grey cups in a row. Is that because they just didn't play well or was that because it was a poor roster make up for the opponents? 2023 especially we dressed 3 receivers who could barely move... how is that putting a capable team on the field? Don't let the score fool you. That it was close is a minor miracle considering how useless the offense was. Hurt collaros in 2022 and 2024 isn't putting a roster capable of winning out there either. Most games come down to a handful of plays.... give yourself the best chance to make those plays. That includes depth for every position, not relying on injured players etc etc.
  16. Citation needed... cause Eli hasn't gotten many reps at centre. And forget snaps, he hasn't looked anywhere as useless blocking as kolankowski has. I'll live with the occasional iffy snap vs. No pocket for a qb.
  17. And if we dressed some healthier receivers in 2023 maybe they make those handful of plays... maybe if an injured collaros is taken out of the game last year they makes some plays to win... Roster decisions have 100% impacted the teams ability to make the plays necessary to win the tight games. That's the whole point! When it's that close you can't afford to handicap yourself. Again they got away with a lot more in the past because they had a very strong and very deep roster, but the depth has been eroded and and starters are aging and becoming less consistent. Time is coming quickly when the roster management problems become more and more of an issue.
  18. And kolankowski has looked like **** in the regular season for a few years... all people want is to see if a change makes a difference because the starter is not good enough
  19. I dunno, but I also know no one has a worse centre than we do.
  20. Then if he truly isn't better than kolankowski cut him because he's not worth keeping. Kolankowski is a scrap heap emergency injury fill in type of player. If your backup isn't better than that why are we keeping him?
  21. But in comparison to the rest? I stand by my statement. He's the most noticeable. Really? Jake hasn't needed to take the kind of snaps he has for several years. Osh was always going to play him more than he should.
  22. Yeah but collaros also sucks at the underneath passing game....
  23. Your best lineman is adams and he's getting so few snaps. Embarrassing.
