And 07 was the year Joseph was MOP so he played well that season. But yeah going way way back to 01...
-
and the contention I am making is simply that what he says to reporters is different than what gets said behind closed doors. It seems you agree with that, so why be so obtuse?
-
God missing that guy basically all year has played havoc on the secondary. Is he healthy now?
-
yes. It's the same team it has been for the last few years. They win when they take care of the ball and generate turnovers and big plays on special teams. That's the way they are coached. **** up less than the other guys. They've ****** up a bit too much the last while but this is a team that is destined to always be in close games, and when the margin of error is slim sometimes you lose.
-
You mean like spending yourself into problems like the BC Lions did? No the way to do it in the CFL is develop your own QB or get lucky with a backup developing after you get them. Generally. Bombers are on their way anyhow I believe. Just need to get some coordinators who are a little better in game.

it is evidence that what is said to the media is not the same as what is said behind closed doors. here is another, you never hear oshea say bad things about players in the media but during a miced up game he immediately gave Grant **** for taking a return wide rather than going up the middle. So where is your evidence to support your stance?
-
lots of evidence in the different category though... remember the "matthews will be a big part of this team" talk a couple weeks before his release?
-
who was the last team to win a Grey Cup with a sub par quarterback?
-
You make the playoffs based on the regular season, the difference between coordinators and the head coach is that when the playcalling suffers it can be attributed more to the coordinators who have dominion over that sort of thing. The role of the head coach in that regard is to make the big picture judgment of his his staff is performing. Oshea is patient but it isn't limitless patience.
-
The fact that so many people are so willing to fire the head coach that has given this team a level of consistency that it hasn't reached in ages is mind blowing... yeah they have 1 playoff win, but you can't judge things purely based on the playoffs, especially when they always seemed to wind up facing the very best qbs the league has to offer in the playoffs, and a team like Calgary has been very good in all aspects outside of some Grey Cup disappointments, but in the west playoffs, particularly the west final they usually host they're a tough nut to crack. Now we can nit pick things, but in my mind firing O'Shea isn't even close to being something we discuss. Give the guy fresh faces at the coordinator position and see what happens, or if he does refuse to make that move when the time comes we can talk, but in the mean time I will be happy to deal with "only" winning double digit games in a season. It's so awful compared to the seasons where we're out of it by the fall.

Except the Leduc stuff happened like really late 40s and 50s which kick started the oil and gas in Alberta... I R confused.
-
we also started discussing the creationist museum in central Alberta and how I really would like to visit it some day.
-
now as in the post retirement sense.

but you can deal with that without simply going on the fire everyone spree, especially as the head coach. I mean cripes O'Shea isn't the first and certainly won't be the last coach to be cagey with his public responses to things like that. I do recall one of the mic'ed up games we clearly heard him giving it to one of the coordinators about what they were doing not being good (think it was Lapo) so I don't think that behind closed doors it's all sunshine and roses. O'Shea has patience though, he gives people chances to make it right, something a lot of people here don't subscribe to. Now personally I'm sick of our offensive and defensive coordinators, but I was never on board with hiring them in the first place because I didn't like their philosophies to start with. O'Shea though clearly doesn't mind that safe approach, which I can appreciate, I think the real problem is how unable Lapo is to adjust in game and how slow Hall is to adjust, but he does adjust, just sometimes takes too long.

The real problem is that all the cuts and spending are targeted boutique things that are just trying to blatantly buy votes. No real long term plans by anyone just trying to grab enough votes to hold power. This is why people don't want to vote.

on the way back from Edmonton just yesterday the wife and I snickered at that billboard
-
The problem here, is that angry irrational people don't like measured even keeled responses from coaches. They want the same fly off the handle rage they feel.
-
Hardly, I just calls it as I sees it. You turn on people at the drop of a hat, that makes you a bandwagon jumper. Not sure why it offends you so much.
-
Or I could keep hitting that nerve.
-
Stegall is an attention ***** now, he panders to those idiots so hard cause they clap like trained seals if he says nice things about them and their team.
-
Well last game Whitehead certainly didn't. He dropped at least 3 he could caught.
-
The usual suspects are off the bandwagon at the first sign of adversity, as per usual. The only problem with this team is the coordinators. If they don't do something about that in the offseason we can talk, but until then I trust Miller Walters and O'Shea.
-
I expect our DL to dominate Sask again, that makes all the difference to this team. Don't let them get pressure the D shows it's weaknesses, but Sask wasn't anywhere close to slowing down the Bombers pass rush in either game.
-
complete with a spot in the eastern conference?
-
Ok but the bombers routinely take less penalties. That's pretty much one of the most important things for oshea. A "clean" game with few penalties.
