  1. Statistics are ever only as useful as the person interpreting them.
  2. I read it, don't waste your time, it's long on words short on an actual point.
  3. I'm sorry but analysis without looking at the types of plays called is just a waste of time. No one ever said they stopped throwing passes, you have missed the entire point.
  4. can I be angry at the lack of odds and sods?
  5. isn't that what got Joey Elliott run out of town on a rail? He called out Lapo's bullshit?
  6. Streveler was unreal good until Lapo stopped him. The INT was the only blemish otherwise he looked totally in control passing and running. How you take that skillset and nullify it....
  7. You sir have more faith than I do. I truly believe Lapo can neuter any amount of anger.
  8. It's not even that, I believe they can still get first place by taking care of business when they play the Stamps, the thing that keeps me pissed off about this one is that it's exactly the same thing that caused them to gas the Toronto game. You can make that mistake once but you start making it multiple times it's a problem that clearly wasn't corrected.
  9. I agree, Toronto and Montreal they never should have let up, would have been easy wins if they kept playing aggressive ball. Look at Montreal, they didn't get scared of throwing ints, they just went out and made plays. The other one would be Labour Day. Total ***** game plan going in afraid to let Streveler do anything. Wasted the entire first half before he let him play a bit. It's the reason Lapo was a loser as a head coach here unless his defense won the game for him. He can come up with some brilliant game plans and play calling at times, but his passive nature and abject fear of making mistakes costs him so many games.
  10. you can say it all you like, but it's still going against the natural tendencies of those guys. And you know I don't think O'Shea is totally opposed to the philosophy, and that's OK, but sometimes they go way way too far. Actually this game I am less angry at Ritchie Hall than I am at Lapo. Were some big busts in the coverage that gave up too many big chunks in short order, that you can say the players missed their assignments. Lapo is the guy I am angry at. You dominate the entire first half and take your foot so far off the gas in the 2nd half that it forces the defense into the situation where they need to make stops. That's just unacceptable. You put together one of those long drives in the 4th quarter you don't have to worry about the Als coming back.
  11. Well the good news is that we have a lot of past examples of both Lapo and Hall to draw on and these criticisms are ones that have followed them around for a long long long time.
  12. well there wasn't much threat of passing in the 2nd half. Lots of 4 yard throws, none of the stuff that was working so well in the first half. it was the patented Lapo "safe" offense. run for minimal yardage, throw short of the first down sticks and punt the ball away.
  13. OK but what about the entire half before the last drive?
  14. Yeah except for the fact that they did the exact same thing in Toronto over the summer. You let it happen once and you can say OK they got cocky and a bad thing happened, but twice is the starting of a pattern.
  15. I don't even think it's that. I really do believe that Lapo anticipates what he thinks the defense will adjust to and tries to counter it regardless of what the opposing defense actually does. He stops himself before the other teams stop him.
  16. khari plays to win, did it as a qb too, Lapo on the other hand always prefers to try and let the other team lose. It is the reason why we fired him as a head coach. Too many one score losses.
  17. Did they forget what happened last time we played them? And if we had the benefit of only playing 3 quarters against Montreal there would have been no troubles either.
  18. Lapo on the other hand... totally rattled after that and put the training wheels on the offense.
  19. You might think he is getting to be old, but even then he is still way better than any other broadcaster doing CFL games. Like it is embarrassing how bad other teams play by play is. Truthfully it's Doug Brown that is the weak link on cjob.
  20. This game and the Toronto game and Labour Day aren't games they lost because they were out matched. Hell 2 of them the game should rightly have been over by half time. Those 3 games are examples of the coaches, specifically the coordinators having their heads so far up their asses and having the team play not to lose rather than playing to win. They too often expect the other team to give the game away to them. Need to recognize that they can't always play that way with a lead. They need to keep the foot on the gas and play to win even if it means taking some chances. Lapo needs to stop being afraid if letting his QBs throw. Hall needs to smarten up with his blitzes.
  21. Best part of the post game was Doug Brown calling it like it was saying the Bombers got passive and it cost em.
  22. I said it before and I'll say it again, the coordinators for this team are the single biggest thing holding them back. That's 2 games for sure and probably 3 that they've cost us by being entire too passive.
  23. I agree, momentum like like lost them the Toronto game, they need to come out in the 2nd half and stomp on the Al's throats again.
