Chris Streveler - Has your opinion changed?

well he's employed 2 defensive coordinators in his time here who both like the bend don't break D. I would guess that's why he is OK with it. You can justify it as "well they didn't make the plays to get the stop" but that's just a cop out. -

could have, but at the very end it came down to a defensive stop that didn't happen because Ritchie Hall has this prevent D that he's had for ever and the same **** happens. -

Defence gave up the long drive at the end of both games, yeah the offense didn't help, but they could have got a stop and won the game, they didn't -

it wasn't a dreadful game against the Argos, it was a dreadful half a game. Don't forget that they did jump out to a big lead in the first half. It was just the passive coaching that cost them. Ritchie Hall and his prevent defense are responsible for 2 losses this year. Sask and Toronto. gave up big long time killing drives in the final moments to lose a lead. -
League says the hit was A-OK.

Hot take, I kind of hope Demski is unavailable for the Banjo Bowl. Lapo I think relies too much on him when really he is a guy that is probably suited to be the under the radar threat.

It's only a different kind of potential... The entire point here is that the limiting factor isn't the quarterback, it's the offense itself. -

but the framework for the offense is still essentially the same. Take a few deep shots (neither of our qbs are great at the deep ball) and lots of 0-3 yard passes to sitting duck targets. -

Seems to me that the one time they actually used the sweep they nearly got a touchdown out of it. I just can't stand the useless passes this team likes to throw. -

Lapo doesn't tailor an offense to the players he has, he runs what he wants to run. Kyle Walters tried to get him the players to fit, but Lapo still is too inflexible and thinks his cleverness can make everything work out fine. If he'd actually look at what he's got for players and come up with an offense to maximize their abilities he'd be a lot further ahead. Stubborn to a fault but no one ever talks about the ego that guy has. -
Well guess it's OK then, goodbye to all the leagues longsnappers.

As long as the coordinators get their heads outta their asses the Bombers will win the Banjo Bowl. I don't care what their record says, nothing the Riders did was impressive on Labour day. Couple gift ints and the soft prevent D to end it and a horsecrap game plan in the first quarter that let the Riders get a lead. Won't happen again, especially with some friendly crowd noise to help the D out.

the guy throws pretty well on the run, what's the harm in rolling him out and cutting the field down and letting him throw on the move until the game slows down for him. Bottom line Lapo needs to learn how to draw up screen passes better and stop pretending like dumping off and hoping the back or receiver can turn it upfield for a big gain is a legitimate game plan. -

the first int wasn't a great throw, but the 2nd one I thought that it was just a terrible play call because it's a quick turn and throw and the Riders D was waiting on it all day. Both passes that were intercepted were to Demski I believe, it's clear to me that the Riders were keying on him in the short game because they were always right there to jump the ball. That's a Lapo fail because even Jason Shivers knows the crap he wants to do. I'd have thrown more to Wolitarsky and Lawler cause they made plays happen. -
I honestly felt like we could have, should have had more than the 5 sacks they already got. That line gets away with all kinds of holding.
-
You know I had read some Rider fans boasting about how good their OL was, but man all I saw in that labour day game was the Bombers defensive line absolutely owning them. If the refs bothered to call holding it woulda looked even worse than the terribly poor performance they already turned in. They try and get the ball out of fajardos hands super quick but he still took quite a few good pops and was under siege all game long.
-
considering they offered him one out of training camp and he declined and that he came back when injuries hit I would suspect that they did in fact offer him a spot and he wants no part of a PR.

They spent so much of the game throwing short screen passes, but the most effective ones were receivers crossing the middle or slants. Why not do that and see what streveler can do, seems to be his best throws. Hell that's pretty much exclusively what the Riders are doing with Fajardo and he's a worse passer than Streveler. -

Streveler is fine, Lapo is the problem here. That game plan to start the game was abysmal. That's the knd of stuff you give to Nichols not Streveler. Lapo wasting the first quarter before starting to call proper plays and Ritchie Hall and his give up D at the end are what caused the loss. That Sask team is as garbage as I thought they were, but our idiot coordinators gave it away. -
So I was out of town all weekend and only got to actually watch the game now... Holy **** did they hand that one to the Riders on a silver platter. Did Lapo forget that Nichols wasn't the starter? first quarter that was a Nichols game plan and predictably it didn't work without Nichols or Andrew Harris. 2nd half was much better but some complete stupidity costs them at least field goal position twice. And then the cherry on top Ritchie Hall pulls out his patented prevent defense to completely piss away a great effort by the defense. Said it before I will say it again, our coordinators are the single biggest thing holding this team back. Both passive losers who would rather let the other team lose the game than try and win it themselves.

Shaw free range app, it's wonderful.

was thinking for a roid monkey he looks pretty scrawny.

They're everywhere out here, hell I know a guy who was selling some anti-trudeau shirts you might enjoy too.

Yeah but it's not a chick and egg argument, you can evaluate a head coach based on what the talent level of a team is. We've seen lots of coaches for this team without any talent whatsoever do more than Tim Burke did. Burke was a loser as a head coach and thus his team played like losers. Take Mike Kelly for example, he wasn't any screaming hell of a head coach and his rosters were pretty lacklustre too, but he got more out of his players than Burke ever did. Lapo had essentially the same roster and got way more than Burke did. Burke was a bad head coach whether he had talent or not. Worst one I've seen on this team and I've seen some bad ones. Worse than Jim Daley, worse than Jeff Reinbold...
