  1. It's like people don't stop and look at what this team is built to do... they are the "trap" team. Play safe both ways. Don't give up big plays on D and don't turn the ball over on O. This team is built to let special teams win the game for them. Why are we shocked when they are coached that way? That means check downs and punts from the offense and bend without hopefully breaking by the D. Stop expecting the kind of team you want and see what kind of team we actually have, especially with the coordinators we have. You will be a lot less upset in the long run. Just accept this team will always be in close games.
  2. because lapo doesn't call those plays. Ever.
  3. I hold them both to the same standard. I just don't lambaste Nichols for not having gaudy stats when he doesn't get on the field much in the first half. Like I said, time of possession says we moved the ball some, the completion % says Nichols was making some good throws. Perhaps the problem here is you want an Edmonton Eskimoes with Mike Reilly style offense and I judge the Bombers based on the super conservative Paul Lapolice offense that I know we have.
  4. Hey I'll call Nichols games against Hamilton and Toronto poor, but he was much better tonight. The D in the first half was horrible though, and they gave up another late TD drive without much resistance. Just look at the big picture rather than focussing on why Nichols sucks and you'll see.
  5. well we also need the defense to not surrender time killing touchdown drives, but they haven't held up their end of the bargain either.
  6. #LapoProblems
  7. Yeah but I was talking to Noeller when that late drive was about to happen, we laughed about 2 handoffs to Harris and a punt, we got the one handoff, and yes that throw was a poor throw, but he made good throws the rest of the night. Look at the entirety of the game without your i hate Nichols goggles on and you will see that he was fine. He played the game this team has played for years. The reason this was a close game was entirely because of the defense going pants on head ******** for long stretches of the game. NIchols wasn't amazing, but he managed the game fine. The D was OK at times but complete dog **** at others.
  8. Strevelers record as a starter ain't no screaming hell. He's not as good a passer as Nichols. Yeah he's a better runner, but he's still raw. Needs more time before he's ready to take the reigns.
  9. What I like about Grant as a returner is that he doesn't screw around trying to go sideline to sideline, he goes up the field and can make the first guy miss and then outrun everyone else. That's hard to defend.
  10. Look at the time of possession, and that's even with prolonged periods of **** D. Nichols moved the ball well enough when he was out there. Yeah the throw late to Wolitarsky was bad, but it was literally one throw. 18/22 with 2 that could have been caught, the guy wasn't bad, just in a situation where he didn't have a lot of opportunities to move the ball early. But like I have been saying all week, some people won't ever look at thing objectively when it comes to Nichols. He just sucks to them.
  11. yeah, he never saw the field in the first half because of the special teams either taking it to the house or fumbling it. Blame the **** defense in the first half for no Nichols stats. Dude was fine tonight, circumstances made him look worse than he actually was.
  12. I also want to add that the reffing was complete one sided horse crap tonight.
  13. you know what, Nichols was OK tonight. He hardly saw the field in the first half because the returners took it too the house or fumbled and the D was complete **** letting the stamps move the length of the field. Yeah the throw to Wolitarsky on 2nd down last in the game was a bad throw, but one throw doesn't decide his game. He hit Wolitarsky deep in the endzone that was called no catch and hit matthews deep on a nice throw that was dropped and his stats look a hell of a lot better. The problem in this game was entirely the super soft defense we saw at times and the completely horrendous display of tackling. but they won and **** the stampeders.
  14. that play was just stupid.
  15. If he hadn't scored touchdowns the offense would have got a chance to go onto the field. They haven't been bad, just not needed. It's the defense that has been utter **** most of the game so far.
  16. sure do.
  17. well we can't all be bandwagon fans.
  18. first of all I would say that Bob Odenkirk was famous before he was Saul Goodman....
  19. and I would much rather they struggle on a road trip on Southern Ontario in the summer than against western opponents in the fall, especially around early September.
  20. let's not forget that the Stamps have had plenty of playoff choke jobs over that time as well. This obsession with championships does more harm than good to this team and this fanbase. Forget it and just let things play out. You keep making the playoffs then at some point you're going to win a Grey Cup or 3.
  21. Ok but Walter's and oshea haven't been here for 29 years, and honestly a big problem in that streak is the constantly firing coaches and gms when they hit a rough patch. No one ever got to build any consistancy. Walter's and oshea are the first ones and the results thus far seem positive. Always a playoff contender now, expectations of being a top team. Those guys have earned a lot more time.
  22. actually seems like a really nice day in Calgary today, now granted it is Calgary so that can change in 5 minutes, but hey at least that aspect should be OK. Now as for the game day, well after the last two games....
  23. Burris wouldn't have won a grey cup here anyway, guy hated playing in bad weather.
  24. maybe the one thing that could lessen my fandom of this team. Burris is a puss and a horrible team mate. No thank you to that dink on this team.
