I ain't convinced Campbell gets fired. The rest are a pretty big gamble and I am especially not sold on Dyce becoming a good one. I just see this team taking the easy way out and going with Lapo if O'Shea is out.
-
Except he is the head coach not the general manager.... Look I am no Ritchie Hall fan on the whole, but let's give the guy some credit, our D was real bad the first few years he was here, but he did change and adapt and I would say the odd notable exception here and there he has put a good to very good defense on the field the past 2 seasons. So he has shown growth with the team and it's defence. The offense started out well the first couple years we had Lapo, but it has stagnated the past couple seasons. Last year we assigned a lot of the blame to that to Nichols playing through an injury to his knee, this year we see a lot of the same issues where things get stagnant with the offense, so it's more ammo that we need a change there. This is why I don't rag on O'Shea for not firing them sooner. He gave them chances to improve things. One guy did the other guy hasn't. But here is the problem with firing Mike O'Shea... There aren't a lot of really interesting options out there for head coach right now and chances are given that he is well liked by most football circles I can see them replacing O'Shea with Paul Lapolice which is not an upgrade. You understand why I want to keep O'Shea now?

Guy took entirely too much crap, his biggest flaw was hiring coaches. Lapo and Burke both sucked. As a talent guy he was fine.
-
yeah but you and your ilk would fire people at the drop of a hat. I use 4 years because those first 2 years were rebuilding a sorry assed franchise with nothing in the cupboard.
-
shocking! Tburgess thinks there's problems everywhere!
-
No we are not, and yet a mighty team like Calgary can only average one cup every 5 years... So why are we so antsy after 4 years? We don't even have the luxury of one of the top QBs in the league so that demands more patience still! I mean if we had a guy like Bo Levi Mitchell and had all the problems we got something to talk about, but given we are winning double digits every season, making the playoffs with a combination of Nichols and Streveler at qb... when the best qbs in the league all reside in this conference (Mitchell, Reilly and Harris) some of you expect too much.
-
I look at it this way: Be hard for this to be worse than the West Final in terms of misery in that stadium, which is still far from the worst experiences ever in that stadium. I am optimistic today.
-
Gotta make the playoffs to have a chance to win the Grey Cup. How many Championships does Calgary have in those 15 years they've made the playoffs? I see 3... so one every 5 years on average. We got time.

FIRE EVERYONE!!!!
-
must be nice to get BC 3 times on the schedule.
-
well if he leaves on his own he leaves on his own, nothing to be done about that, but I'm talking about firing him. That's a gamble I want no part of at this point in time.
-
Because it's a gamble that isn't worth taking. I mean yeah we could win big, or we could lose out and go down the drain. Why take that risk when we're already ahead in the game? Winning double digits for 4 years in a row... this is the most sustained success this team has had in ages! why gamble on that at this point in time?

What's wrong with a team that puts up more wins than losses each season? Haven't we all seen enough of the out of contention before Labour Day teams to appreciate what we have here?
-
This really is meaningless in Canada. Even trying to pass this would make all those conservatives un-electable by the nation. We are not the USA. yes we might copy cat somethings, but outside of the very fringes of the right there is no desire for anyone to change anything about abortions and it's not going to come to the forefront of the conservative party because it's a poison pill for their election hopes.
-
Given all the talk there was about how Milt and Khari were simply on the same page and read the field the same way I'd really be hesitant to credit Lapo for much of anything. Especially when the other weapon for the offense was Charles "Make people miss in a phone booth" Roberts. I probably could have put a good offensive game plan together with Stegall, Bruce, Roberts and Sellers and Khari available.
-
is it an upset when we've already gone up 1-0 on them in the head to head? Unlike your team our team has beaten Calgary this season.
-
Like I said, class act that Bo Levi Mitchell.
-
From your lips to god's ears.

There are bigger ****** bags on the green team, but BLM is a top tier ass as well.
-
or he was playing through injury prior to this.
-
And that's not that I'm trying to discredit Jones, hell I was on here begging for him to be hired instead of Lapo back in the day (and lots of people said Khari was a crappy coach at the time time). I'd still take Khari in a heart beat, but Mike O'Shea is a damned good coach too and we'd be fools to let him get away. Now if he chooses to leave on his own so be it, but to give him the boot, that would be dumb.

Lawler is likely the nod since the glamour positions are often the ones that get noticed, but I'd make a case of Exume if only because he's been an impact player all year on teams and he was such a late draft pick. Hansen not a chance, he's a good story but not even close to ROTY IMO.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that Montreal has some better pieces on their roster this season than the Bombers had when O'Shea took over. Seriously, go do yourselves a favour and actually look at what was on that Bombers team, especially the Canadians...
-
"Hey Milt, go deep" isn't brilliant offensive coordinating.
-
Who says he refuses to change them? He gives people chances to improve and honestly the D has come a long way from where it was 2 seasons ago, the offense runs hot and cold, and it's stagnating the last couple seasons, but let's not be too hasty saying that O'Shea refuses to change. This offseason if he decides to come back will be very telling in that aspect.
