  1. How much protection do you need? 3/4 of your team blocking and schoen has to try and get open 1 on 3?
  2. At this point I'm not convinced that would be a bad thing for the team...
  3. It's football, there's always a lot of egos involved. But if losses keep happening and obvious roster problems keep getting ignored walters or Miller will come have a talk and either oshea refuses to listen, and we have a problem, or more likely regardless of strong opinions or words shared he does listen and tries something else. Here's the thing, they're all more patient than we are and it's easy to give oshea lots of rope with the # of wins and back to back to back to back cup finals. That won't last forever though.
  4. Ok now y'all are really overboard. No reason to fire oshea at this point not even close. Just need his bosses to tell him to start using the roster better.
  5. Been there done that, got the t-shirt. Only time lapo could win was when his D dragged the team kicking and screaming to a victory.
  6. The return game is predicated on making the first guys miss. To do that you need to be moving forward when you catch the ball and be willing to hit the cover guys sometimes. Mitchell is slow getting to the ball and guys are sitting waiting for him, and if he does catch the ball clean he turtles when he senses a hit coming. Never succeed as a returner doing that.
  7. Hear me out... that first game against bc last year where they thumped us... that broke collaros. Sure he rebounded in the rematch against bc, but ever since then he's become gunshy in the pocket. It was only saved last season because of Brady Oliveira and the run game. I really thought the ability to tandem streveler and collaros was the key to getting collaros through the season... so let's give streveler some qb plays and not just make him run into the line. Prukop could do that if that's all you want.
  8. Well that was the point of what I was saying. You need a good roster not a collection of good players
  9. And he's right... we do have a lot of really good players. Now, do we have a functional team?
  10. Forgetting the quibbles about which guy should have been kept or not... the real issue with the roster is that there's no rhyme nor reason to the way the game day roster is constructed. They seem to put guys on it for unknown reasons which doesn't leave them flexibility if things go sideways in a game or to maximize the performance of every one... some one really needs to sit down with oshea and tell him to stop wasting spots on the game day roster and actually have some contingencies a d development plans in place.
  11. Augustine did something with the ball when they decided to get him involved. Why they didn't use him who knows.
  12. Honestly thought he was the best of the ones that played in preseason. He is a ***** plain and simple. Afraid of catching the ball, afraid of getting hit. Just the most useless kind of returner.
  13. Said of any end these days. 8 dl rotating through was the key in 2019 and 2021 it should still be the key now especially with guys getting older.
  14. Completely disagree... he was disrupting things for faj all night.
  15. Haba was one of the real bright spots against Montreal so I don't agree with this assessment.
  16. That's a terrible comparison. Ricky Ray was a much better QB than Collaros has ever been and wasn't at the end of his career to the same extent that Collaros was. Never mind that Brown is a better young qb than Jyles ever was. be more like if BC had kept Reilly and traded whoever was their starter at the time (was it Lulay?) OL sucked, Collaros sucked, didn't even try and get the run game going, DBs forgot they can use their arms when trying to tackle, lack of DL depth cost them when Fox and Haba get hurt early. O'shea smirked while wearing shorts.
  17. did they? before we lost half our DL to injury Brown was under fire too and we hardly gave augustine the ball but when he got it he was productive. Yeah the receivers didnt shine overly much but neither did Ottawas really. Biggest thing is Ottawa for a shorter field than Winnipeg most times.
  18. by looking at some of the problems Zach started to show last year and taking a bold move.... you save a pile in salary and get younger... Collaros at best had a couple seasons left in him. Brown outplayed him last year (albeit in extremely limited time). I think it was a bold move that could have paid off because you could likely parlay Collaros in the offseason into a big return.
  19. you can tell though that Oshea feels bighill and jefferson and collaros and alexander are still the same guys they were. In my opinion they had the bodies in camp this year to make some changes and just didn't... seeing how well a guy like adams has stepped in and been arguably the teams best player through 2 games tells me they just made the wrong call on a lot of guys in preseason.
  20. They have, but cracks started to show last season big time and in this business if you're standing still you're getting worse... We're still relying on the core from 2019 and it's 5 years later.
  21. I am telling you, the offseason was prime time to sell high on Collaros and run with Brown/Streveller. Send Collaros to Ottawa for something useful and move on. Collaros made hay when he was able to play houdini in the backfield but he can't do that anymore and he struggles mightily unless you have an impenetrable OL.
  22. So here's my question... the play neufeld ran away from the guy who sacked Collaros.... looked like initially both he and kolankowski had him but then neufeld disengaged and so did Kolankowski.... so who was supposed to take him? I am inclined to believe just based on how it unfolded that neufeld wasn't wrong to go look for another block thinking the centre had the inside guy blocked.... but neufeld still had a real shitty game all on his own so maybe he was wrong.
  23. he's also a giant *****. runs hard until he sees someone coming than slows down and turtles.
  24. I know you love him, but Kongbo has made less impact as a CFL player than one of your whipping boys Kramdi. I'd take him on the roster, as a rotational piece he adds value but he's not going to fix all the problems. I'd start by apologizing to some of the DL/LBs from preseason and seeing if they'll come back and make merit based decisions on play time rather than who's been around a long time
