  1. Thompkins is a good receiver but seems under used in this offence. He can probably pretty easily be the teams best receiver. Between he and dressler anyway.
  2. The deep one right into his hands? That was not under thrown, Adams even had to reach into it. Problem was he dropped it cause the db was on him. I excusable. Were a few ugly drops on catchable balls again.
  3. Listen, Nichols has never been a great deep ball QB and so far streveler hasn't shown to be phenomenal at it either, so why is our offensive coordinator continually calling those telegraphed deep shots? Why is he calling over complicated plays when he could go to simple plays that this team can execute well? Case in point, one of those ints for a td last game came on a 2nd and 3 situation, we emptied the backfield... when it the qb is struggling why not help him out and use your league best rb and league best OL and smash the ball up the middle? Even if you only get 2 yards you got a 3rd down you can gamble on too. Lapo ain't helping the qbs at all. He sticks to his fancy pants bullshit even if the qb is struggling. Less is more for the offense right now. Stop trying to outsmart every one, just do what they do well and lean on that.
  4. Why is it absurd? You ever watch other teams play and see how much more often they throw intermediate routes? Now watch the Bombers. It's either a short throw or a long bomb. And this is the same as it was when he was here in 2002. Just works a hell of a lot better with Khari Jones and Milt Stegall. The lapolice offence is too predictable and he gets in his own way with playcalling. For example we stopped running the ball last game because they thought Saskatchewan was going to focus on that anyway, so he did the defenses job for them when this team does nothing without a strong running game from Harris. Your qb is in a funk and you put it all on his arm and don't even try and use your best player... that's an OC handicapping his QB.
  5. He had that same high school playbook against Hamilton in his last start and the offense was bad that day too. Fact is that our offensive coordinator is handicapping both of our quarterbacks and the receivers are not doing enough to help either (coincidentally lapo also coaches the receivers) so moral of the story? Fire Lapo already and get an offensive coordinator in here who can call a decent game.
  6. I know but 0fer without Dressler and the offense was putrid in his absence, so what other assumption can we make?
  7. So if the offense actually does anything do we give credit to Lapolice and Nichols for buckling down and working hard over the bye week and fixing the problems, or do we just say "yup, Dressler is the straw stirring the drink for the passing game"?
  8. His default position is "grab em by the *****"
  9. You are also completely ignoring the different rules between leagues. You think it's just easy for a qb to adjust to that?
  10. We generally don't see worthwhile QB prospects up here until after they have exhausted their NFL options. You can't compare for that reason alone. They get all the top qb prospects and the cfl is left trying to find diamonds in the rough. Streveler is unique in that he came here before even trying his luck in the NFL.
  11. I'd rather see 1 or 2 legit top American receivers and the the canadians cause the Canucks can play. I trust them more than the Americans.
  12. Ok so you're making a false equivalency between the cfl and NFL then. One of the reasons that the cfl has had a harder time finding young qbs is the NFL has started looking at the type of qbs that would traditionally be over looked and ended up in the cfl. Can't compare how the two leagues recruit qbs.
  13. Is it though? Lulay took the starting job back from Jennings, only reason ray isn't starting in Toronto is injury and an older QB replaced the hotshot you guy there. Hamilton stuck with a more experienced guy in masoli rather and go for Manziel, riders went with experienced collaros over Bridge. Honestly who are these teams giving young qbs a chance over experience?
  14. Well you also have to consider that Jeffcoat and Corney are sitting on the IR, that takes a bite out of your depth. Moving on from Westerman isn't really the issue, more of a roster management issue with regards to the numbers of each position around. When the team is healthy they had the 4 DEs they were rotating through.
  15. Showed up back at the stadium in a cab according to tsn. Would have loved to see him get back into the game just because that's the kind of story that gets told for a long long time.
  16. Not talking about you, but there are people here who seem to have flipped from cheering for the Bombers to cheering for certain people to be fired. It's the same people as always. They are just the type of fans who only show up when things are miserable and they cheer for firings cause that's the type of fan they are. I feel sorry for them truthfully. Going through life that angry and miserable....
  17. I think we gotta go further back than that, cause they turned on Khari too, they turned on Bell, they turned on everyone who played before Bell showed up. That's the way Bomber fans are. Fickle bunch with not patience for anything.
  18. What are you talking about? Last year there would have been a crossover with 7 wins, the year before 8 was all that was needed. 2014 9, so what I said is 100% true.
  19. When the backup unequivocally takes the job. Streveler didn't do that against the Riders.
  20. Well yes, those bad decisions were egregious, but if we were to take into account his game before the complete meltdown it wasn't that bad. Especially when you factor in the drops he had early. The entire offense has been **** the last month and it's not all on the qb.
  21. Only if you are ready to move on from Nichols, which is a short sighted view in my mind. Streveler hasn't proven he's better yet so until that happens stick with Nichols.
  22. If they go 4-2 or 5-1 they are guaranteed to be in the playoffs in some form. You get to .500 or better you're not missing the playoffs. Hell 8 wins is generally plenty to make the playoffs.
