Eh I think it's more a case of we lost a guy due to a massive over payment so we hope he enjoys being part of a terrible group when he could have got paid well here and been part of a good group.

Nichols comes out like a whirlwind but it falls off when there's a lead... yeah Nichols didn't start sucking in game and the defense didn't just figure it out, the play calls just got super conservative as happens with lapo.

If the bombers get into a situation where they aren't leading in the 4th quarter you will see Nichols 4th quarter passing stats balloon up. It's like no one has watched lapo at all before...

Well there was talk even when Mike Kelly was here about him trading for Ricky Ray so I suspect Edmonton revisited that with Mack. One of the pieces rumored to be involved when Kelly was looking at that? Doug Brown... so ask where that would have left our Canadian depth and you can understand the reluctance.

I don't recall saying he played well... hunting didn't leave the stadium thinking that boy Nichols ****** us over, I left the stadium thinking "how the hell did they expect to win waiting for mistakes from Calgary?" They brought the same do nothing offensive game plan they had against Saskatchewan. They didn't give the offense a chance to have any success barring Harris single handedly beating a tough defense like Calgary had last year.

Except of course for the fact that the problem in the west final was more the game plan than Nichols.

The fact is that we don't need to rely on Adam's as much and that means the group overall is stronger. I think demski is playing better, wolitarsky is similar, Whitehead is doing more than dressler did so far... I would say yeah better group.

Oh please, I've been bitching about lapos play calling since 2002. Guy is a smart offensive mind but he is horrendous at in game circumstances and adjustments and always has been.

even out the peaks and valleys. we have periods of dominance, and times where they punt after minimal yards. That is all on Lapo though. Guy needs to stop over thinking and not change how he calls the game and also recognise when to change what isn't working.

Oh no, we can talk about weaknesses, but they have to be grounded in reality, but that wasn't really what the comment was about. It was about being more critical of the bombers and over looking the issues on other teams. It's a thing that a lot of people do around these parts. You wanna know what I see as the weaknesses on this Bomber team? Right at the moment it's an offensive coordinator who gets in his own way sometimes and a defensive coordinator who doesn't disguise blitzes well and leaves a lot of space for completions.

No see we just view things differently. I am a bomber backer and I point out flaws in other teams. You do the opposite. Try and deny it, but you are only lying to yourself.

The game plan was basically Harris vs. Singleton and Singleton won the matchup on the day. Lapo needed to recognize that the run heavy, short passing to Harris game wasn't working and changed it up, but he didn't and the offense failed as a result.

No, I said Reilly was maybe the best qb in the league, and a guy that has been very capable of putting a team on his back and dragging them to wins throughout his career... and yet here he is on a team that sucks not doing jack ****. So don't go on about needing a qb to drag a team to wins, it doesn't work like that. Good teams win. Good TEAMS. A QB is only one part of it, and clearly what Nichols is doing works pretty well considering how often the Bombers win with him.

Like how Mike Reilly, maybe the best QB in the league right now is putting the BC Lions on his back to win games for them?
