  1. Considering where this regime has brought us to, yes I do think we can give them more rope.
  2. I do, Etch and Bellefool were not the first choices for anyone, but people didn't sign in Winnipeg, it was a place notorious for not giving coaches a chance so they were the best we could get. People just desperate to have a job. Next time around there was a lot of pressure to hire guys with a lot more experience, including that head coaching experience because the teams record was awful and there was a lot of talk that if things didn't improve a guy like Lapolice would be next in line to be head coach. The next time Mike O'Shea hires coordinators he won't have any of those handicaps. I want to see what the guy does hiring people he truly believes in rather than hiring whatever he can get or simply looking for experienced faces.
  3. No see I don't want to fire Walters either. I want him to improve the teams american recruitment, and I want O'Shea to improve his coordinators. You can do both without firing everyone. But again, angry people want heads to roll to soothe their anger. Walters and O'Shea both bring valuable things to this team, why do you people ignore those?
  4. If you are arguing that the edmonton passing game is better than Winnipegs OK, but why you leaving out the rushing numbers? Even so it seems that things are much closer than you are making it seem... 1.3 PPG difference, that's even with the massive, massive slump the Bombers have been in the last month, 4 TDs different, seems to me we got a comparable offense.
  5. And I have said that O'Shea ultimately wears the coordinators failings, but I also say that there were other factors going in and am willing to over look that and give him another chance because of the good things he does do for the team. Things are never as black and white as some people like to make them seem.
  6. Probably thinks Puerto Ricans are mexicans and heaps of deads ones is a good thing.
  7. Mike O'Shea being Canadian is hand cuffing the team? I don't think so. Hell we have had several FAs claim that they came here in large part because of their respect for Mike O'Shea. No he isn't the problem with attracting players, he's not supposed to have to do the scouts jobs, that is Kyle Walters responsibilities. The biggest failing Mike O'Shea has had as a head coach is his choice of coordinators. Lapo and Hall were never the best choices. They were the safe choices. Guys with lots of experience including head coaching experience and they were largely there to be the training wheels for a rookie head coach with a very poor record at the time, again in large part because of even worse coordinators. Now we've gone round and round and round about why we had those first bunch of useless coordinators and why they went with the safe choices for coordinators this last time, but I do believe that you give O'Shea more time he will jettison Lapo and Hall and get some real guys in here. Hell there was already a ton of speculation that hiring Younger was grabbing Halls replacement while they could. Now it's just a matter of them tossing Lapo on his ass (again) like he deserves.
  8. Kyle Walters is the man in charge of this team. He hires the scouts, he hires the coach, it all goes back to him because he is the one in charge. I am also going to call bullshit on Ross being 3rd string and no discovering Streveler. Streveler was coming to camp regardless and he probably still would have beaten Ross for a spot, we just wouldn't have seen him play this year, which is very normal for your development qb.
  9. Nichols was always going to start the next game. Streveler didn't go out and blow the doors off, he showed the same struggles NIchols was having so of course they'll go back to the veteran guy. Probably have Nichols on a shorter leash than in the past but he was going to be the guy.
  10. It's the CFL man, it can change in a heart beat. a month ago Rider fans were on the verge of a revolt and were pretty much ready to run Chris Jones out of town on a rail. All of a sudden it's happy fun times in that province. Starts with one game at a time. Come back from the bye and beat Montreal then you're not on a 4 game losing skid anymore, you're on a 1 game winning streak. Then you worry about sneaking out a win in Edmonton, and contrary to popular belief the Esks are not unbeatable. Do that and you're on a 2 game winning streak Pull that off and you're back to .500. It's not the craziest thing in the world. Then they have a very beatable RIder team and after the way the Riders acted this past weekend I would expect a very motivated Bomber team. Things are not as dire as they seem, just gotta clean up mistakes and remove Lapos head from his ass and they can get back to winning some games.
  11. If Winnipeg wins they remain ahead of teams, it's that simple. That's how "controlling their own destiny" works.
  12. Angry negative people always trot this line out, doesn't make it any truer, you are just biased in a different way.
  13. Touched a nerve huh? You are one of the biggest examples of what I am talking about. Must be tough going through life so angry all the time. And save me the opinions on my opinions, you are as sanctimonious and dismissive and outright hostile to opinions you don't like as anyone.
  14. but the similarities between that rider team and the bomber team with Mike Kelly are so obvious and the common denominator is Murphy. Guy has been this supposed talent guru for a long time now and no one has given him a shot, there has to be a reason for that
  15. Every team has found good players, but honest question, what have the Riders accomplished? capitalizing on some stupid turnovers by the Bombers? Whoopty freakin doo. Nichols doesn't have a melt down Kyle Walters team blows that Riders team off the field on Saturday, even with the handicap Lapo put on the offense. Grass isn't always greener and Murphy has way, way too many red flags for me to give the keys to the franchise to.
  16. Well the receivers I agree, Walters needs to up his game there, but the backup for Leggett was Fenner, not a bad option, though he got hurt in the game too right? Based on the one game Gaitor did fine filling in as well. Wild was replaced by Santos-Knox in the long run which worked out well. Honestly this teams depth is fine, but you can't lose multiple people at one position as any team without feeling it. The problem on this team is and always has been the coordinators, but I have faith that they will be changed this offseason.
  17. Dear god no. You see how he works with Chris Jones as his assistant? You see how he was with Mike Kelly? You think it's a coincidence that both those guys treat draft picks with disdain and sign a bunch of thugs and criminals? Pretty clear that Calgary was all Hufnagel. Also pretty telling that nobody has given Murphy the keys to a franchise.
  18. I am saying be patient. These guys got us from **** to a lot of wins the past few years, why throw em all out on their asses at the very first sign of adversity? Let em rebound from this, they've earned that chance. But no, some of you are just so angry it's hard to believe you are functioning adults. Lashing out demanding people answer for these losses right now! I'm pissed off and I want blood! rabble rabble rabble.
  19. Yeah they do suck, they needed some huge brain farts by the Bombers to win those games, that's not the mark of a good team, just the Bombers shooting themselves in the foot.
  20. I call bullshit on the no change, they have changed a lot of the roster over the past few years. Some of you are creating this false narrative that O'Shea is stubborn and won't change when all the evidence points otherwise. He doesn't change quickly but he isn't as pig headed as many here seem to think.
  21. Then we make the crossover and win the grey cup as an eastern team, it won't be the strangest thing to happen.
  22. I know, least of all me, but I threw it in there for effect. Grass isn't always greener and too often this team has cleaned house at the first sign of adversity from a coach that has started to turn things around, and it's always ended badly.
  23. Are we sure on the date of this article? Because it reads more like something from Nichols first start here which was not long after he was acquired in a trade, you know considering that was when Moore was last here and all.
  24. Oh please, we can still make the playoffs in the west. The Riders offense sucks with Collaros and it doesn't get better if he's concussed again and out for any time. You can't rely on the defense scoring several touchdowns a game for you forever, you might get on a run for a while but it won't last. Neither is Edmonton so far ahead. Lot of defeatists here but there's plenty of time left in this season and plenty of wins left for us to get.
