Will Streveler Be Our James Franklin?
17to85 replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It was behind him, he had to stop and come back and he didn't quite get there in time. That pass is more on target and it's a pretty good sized play. As it was I don't think he had much chance of catching that pass, remember he's a wee little guy, small catching radius. -
TO @ SSK - East Final Rematch + QB Mystery Afoot
17to85 replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think it's also ridiculous to downplay it. Any edge you get is still an edge and perhaps the Argos didn't do a good job of making it hard for a former coach to know what they're doing. All in all that game really game down to the Argos playing like complete ass. Soft coverage on D, receivers failing to get open even a little bit and Ricky Ray looking like he was nursing a hangover from a 3 week bender. -
Rider fans are just predictable that's all. Wearing green? You are truly a god among men, not wearing green take your pick of old and not any good, never was any good, out of shape, or a massively flawed character. Bonus points for mixing and matching.

It's just disgusting that there are people who will perform all kinds of mental gymnastics in order to justify either their shitty beliefs or justify what Donald Trump is doing because it's that conservative is better than liberal mindset. Donald Trump is playing silly buggers in the white house and it's not only ******* America over but it's screwing with the rest of the world too. To quote the simpsons "Where's a gun toting low life when you need one?"

But haven't you heard? It's the democrats fault!

Yeah Bond to Edmonton is terrifying. OL was the weak part of their offense.

Hope he realized that the reason that the trade relationship with China is what it is is because Americans like cheap **** and they don't want to pay the prices for things made where the people making it need to be paid a living wage.
-
Yeah this is just an extra arm to have around since we are down to only 2 healthy bodies at qb.

So much innovation has come from space exploration, I dunno why it's seen as a waste by so many in government.
-
Oh if you had only said that he was good by not great... See it's not just what you say, it's how you say it. Your threw in the stuff about the esks missing a bunch of dbs, getting a chunk of yards on one play, saying you expect him to have more trouble next week. You were completely downplaying what he accomplished all because the rest of us were simplying saying he did good for a rookie and it was encouraging. So you were either being contrarian just for the sake of arguing (which I totally understand) or you are salty that people took issue with your downplaying of a rookie playing well in difficult circumstances. To be completely honest it's not even the stats that leave me impressed with what the guy did. You know what makes me the most positive about his performance? He shook off an early INT, he handled the delays like a champ, he settled in more and more as the game went on even in the face of Edmonton sending a bunch of pressure. He basically did the things that other young qbs we have used here have failed to do. He showed that mental ability to not get overwhelmed by the situation. The counting stats will improve with experience but a guy with the right mind set, that's worth it's weight in gold.

I would think it's less about exploration and more about weaponizing satellites and such.

No you're wrong, if you can't out play the leagues reigning MOP in your very first taste of pro action you are complete and utter trash!
-
You know what really stood out to me, on the touchdown to Wolitarsky he gave the db a little fake like he was getting the ball out quick and made the guy bite leaving a wide open Wolitarsky in the endzone. That's good stuff right there and makes me think this Streveler kid knows how to play the position.
-
God what a season for Alex Ross eh? Guy has an opportunity to be a week one starter but loses out then gets hurt on the one play he actually gets to run which was a clusterfuck of a play to start with. Some guys must be just cursed.
-
Oh sure, great play by him, never questioned that, but you can still make a better play than that. I'm not trying to start a witch hunt here or anything, Wolitarsky had a good game too. Just pointing out that the first INT wasn't that big a deal for the qb.
-
It was Wolitarsky and Sherritt involved in the first INT. I actually to think Sherritt took it away while they were going down, but man you can not let the linebacker come in and just take the ball from you. Gotta hold onto that for your life.
-
You know what I put that first INT on the receiver not Streveler. The receiver had his hands on it and let the linebacker take it away from him. Gotta be stronger than that and either catch it or at least don't let the linebacker take it away. To me Streveler was better than the numbers might indicate when taking everything into consideration.

Properly known as the Westermen.

The reality is that the D looks a lot better than last year. Yeah they gave up a lot of yards but the catches were at least contested and the run D was much more stout. The line backers looked amazing. Edmonton receivers just made a pile of great catches are they are known to do.

If losing to the team everyone says is the best team going on a last minute field goal when you have a 23 year old qb in his first start is the worst thing to happen then it should be a good year.

And yet we could have beat Reilly last night with a few things changing on O or special teams. This game was not as bad as some make it seem.
