  1. Yes I have long thought that if the country is really serious about lessening the carbon dioxide emissions we should transition away from the really centralized power grid. Put solar panels on every roof and let buildings generate as much of their own power as they can, then you don't need big coal or gas fired power stations.
  2. People need to stop thinking of wind or solar like they do the big power plants. They are smaller scale and should be seen as such. You won't build a wind farm and power entire provinces, but you can build some and generate some power so that you lessen the burden on other sources of energy.
  3. generally the guys who get shafted are when a regime change happens. Other than that there really haven't been a lot of guys been shafted at all because not many of them have shown a hell of a lot to start with.
  4. If they weren't going to give him a serious chance do you think they would have split the reps between he and Ross like they did? If he wasn't in serious contention for the spot he'd have got some token minutes at the very end of the game like Edmonton did with their 3rd qb.
  5. So we're going from lots of chances to here's 5 chances, except that one of them you will see is a game the Bombers won by 6 points, even if Nichols is struggling you put a back up in you risk more because even when Nichols was off he was still avoiding turn overs. Then the other game is one where the backups did actually play, so really you've got maybe 3 games, and even one of those 3 was a 20 point win and as discussed things change quickly in the CFL. Leads can evaporate in a hurry. As I said, this team didn't do anything easily.
  6. were there really a lot of chances? Remember this is the CFL, 20 points is a small lead, especially the way our D was giving up yards. This team didn't do anything easily. They often played tight games.
  7. What I figure happened was the Bombers were in their first game where as the Edmonton guys had a game last week already, they had that slight edge in having experienced the game speed before, took the Bombers guys a little bit to get back into it and from that point on it was no contest.
  8. Yeah both years in the playoffs have arguably been the best we've seen from Nichols, conversely was among the worst we've seen from the D.
  9. the poise is the thing that makes me the most optimistic about him. Guy who shows the ability to make reads and throws in a game is worth a lot more than a guy who can look like dynamite in practise but can't process the game when there's the chance he's gonna get cranked by the other guys.
  10. the thing that makes hydro pricey can be the size of the projects. You can build a small solar farm that has less capacity but come out cheaper per KW/hr. It's all about the up front cost. If the up front costs didn't matter we'd see a lot more nuclear power I think.
  11. I only had the radio but Ross to me didn't handle the pressure of the situation well. That happens to a lot of guys when the lights go on but I wouldn't let it define him yet. See how he rebounds next week. It is concerning though that he bungled an opportunity last night.
  12. Yeah mos runs a disciplined team. Sounded like there were times when the esks were confused and couldn'tget the right guys on the field or lined up, I saw that in their first game as well. Really shows how much the little things are focused on here.
  13. Was a nice game but lots of guys have one good game or even a few good games. Need to see it happen consistently. He showed promise though.
  14. They did everything that was expected of them and more so why not be happy about it? Rookie qb in his first pro experience goes 10/10 passing, that's a pretty special night regardless of the competition. Yeah it might not mean a lot in the long term but tonight it's impressive. No other qb looked that good tonight.
  15. Better game Augustine or Streveler: discuss.
  16. doesn't matter, it'll really piss off the liberals.
  17. I only passively watched the game, seems to me that most of what I saw him do was scrambling out of the pocket and dumping the ball off. Nice completion % but not really much accomplished.
  18. Sounds like Streveler has some skills, good to see even if it is against the Esks scrubs. The other thing I am gathering from the radio is that the Bombers defensive line is having a hell of a game.
  19. bluebombers.com had an interview with him at the start of camp and I really liked his attitude. Just wants to play and compete for a spot on the roster rather than be a camp arm only.
  20. https://globalnews.ca/radio/cjob/player/?gref=cjob#/
  21. against Andrew Buckley and I can't even remember the guys name... Trust me I was there watching that game Lefevour didn't do **** to win that game, he was just less shitty than the Calgary backup qbs.
  22. Yeah exactly. Last year sure you can say "show me" but when you look at what he's done last year and the year before the only qbs you can really make an argument about being better than Nichols are Reilly and Mitchell. I guess Ray has his history, but come on, everything Nichols has done since taking over rightly has him in the upper teir of quarterbacks. He's avoiding mistakes, putting up yards and most importantly his team has 100% faith in the guy. That means as much as anything and it will take a qb a long way.
  23. Got an angry text from Noeller yesterday as he was driving through Saskatchewan listening to the local radio there and I believe the direct quote that got him worked up was "Nichols, nice guy but I wouldn't want him running my offense" So there we have it, Nichols has fooled us all, he's really just a shitty qb and we aren't going anywhere with that bum. Maybe we can pry Bridge out of Saskatchewan so we at least have a chance.
  24. god that front 7.... should make life miserable for a lot of teams this year.
  25. yes you are correct, what TSN chose was southern ontario vs. western Canada.
