Yeah it was a dumb decision because Lefevour looked worse in the same game Davis struggled in, including throwing one of the most brain dead interceptions I have ever seen. Clearly they decided right then and there that they were going in a different direction at qb this season, but we all know how that worked out.
-
In the already lopsided game he got into. Was bullshit that they pulled the rug out from under him in the final game of the season. I understand moving on thinking you got a vet like Durant coming in to be backup, but that guy's a douchebag and if his douchebaggery had been known I'd have been fine having Davis back as the backup.

if we can't discuss things from other teams in an around the league thread then why even have this thread in the first place?
-
It's also a shame that the Esks aren't bringing their top qbs. Think you learn a hell of a lot more about your players when they're facing legit stars than you do by them picking on the short bus squads.
-
Wilds biggest issue, and really only issue in my mind is how often he's getting hurt these days. Love the player, I got his number on the last jersey I bought, but if you're always hurt it's hard to make room for you.

maybe if you were less comfortable it wouldn't be a recurring problem

Really most interested to see how the Canadian receivers do. Most of the rest of the team is pretty set but this is a pretty interesting battle since it's been so long since this team has done more than the token Canadian receiver.

It's a lot easier to forgive a rookie a mistake if he takes his medicine and learns from it. That's just being young and growing as a person. When an older veteran does it though? Come on, even the dumbest dumb **** rider fan can see a difference.

This is probably the most relevant part of your comment, and it is probably why you think it's a good idea to put refineries everywhere. Yes they are looking to make money, and if building refineries was where money was they'd build them. Yeah prices go up when they shut down refineries for maintenance, but when they're running they produce plenty, and if you have more then you wind up with an excess of product and how does that help the companies selling the product? You just wind up with spoiled fuel.
-
Yes there is some shipped to inland refineries, hell there are refineries in Edmonton too, but they are mainly for local supply, and there is enough capacity for the local uses in Canada already. Any further refineries would be purely excess and for export which is where you run into the problems. I know people think it's easy to just refine everything and sell the product, it's more profit, but if it were the case it would have been done ages ago. Refineries require massive investments and years to complete and they have small profit margins anyway because the world isn't short on refining capacity as it is.
-
You are guilty of over simplifying things. Canada already has limited capacity to get oil to market, but if you refine the product yourselves in Alberta then you need the capacity to get a bunch of different products to market not just one. Further to that refined products expire so you have a time crunch. Alberta refining products just doesn't make much sense economically. There is a reason that most refineries are located with ocean access. Building massive refining capacity in a land locked province is just not going to be a thing.

spent a few days in the Vancouver area this spring and sure it's a real beautiful place geographically but man so many of the people there seem to be completely disconnected from reality.

I don't think we can rightly make calls on who the "starters" are until after the preseason games.

It looks like he is really really hoping that he's sitting in a pie...

The thing that gets me is that the politicians in BC have flat out admitted that winning their court cases aren't the goal. They are totally OK just pissing away tax payer money on doomed challenges AND harming the countries reputation for investment, and now wasting more tax payer money since the federal government has picked up the tab for the project. It's just stupid and really shows how out of touch parts of BC are with the real world.
-
Honestly I think it was pretty similar to the first one, it's just that it's nothing fresh and new, simply more of the same. So if by that definition it's not as good sure, but honestly I think as films they are pretty comparable in terms of quality. Hell it's great for the scenes in the credit alone.
-
But the guy clearly doesn't care about character, was the same when he was here. It's a flaw, and maybe why no one is giving him the reigns as a GM.
-
Guy who got pissed off that we didn't throw a ticker tape parade for his training camp and practise reports... but the thing is a lot of time he was simply flat out wrong in his reports and took issue with people disagreeing with him. For example the one time I was able to get to some training camp I recall reading his report from camp and it was completely different from what I had seen, and most other people were in agreement with the impressions I came away with, but some people just can't accept that they might be wrong and get defensive because of it.

BC has lost every challenge against it, they know that they won't win any case because it's already been approved and it's federal jurisdiction. The entire play by BC was obstruct for long enough that Kinder Morgan pulled out. Rather than wielding any power to slap BC back into line though the Liberals allowed it to get to the point where suddenly we are on the hook as taxpayers for the thing. Which I would be much more OK with if the government would just build it and run it as a crown corporation, but no, that's not the plan, the plan is to build it then sell it back. So basically it's corporate welfare. Government takes all the risks and then who ever buys the pipeline gets all the profit. The very second the government started talking about getting involved financially Kinder Morgan jumped at the chance and now we tax payers are paying for their project. Liberals bungled this massively simply because they were afraid of losing votes in BC if they were to do anything to put them in their place.

https://www.tsn.ca/2018-cfl-on-tsn-broadcast-schedule-1.721560 for those wondering what preseason games TSN is showing.
-
the reality is that most of us on this board have no clue what we see anyway.

They had a hell of a time casting that role, they actually shot a pilot with a different actress at first but re-cast the role. Honestly I don't even think Clarke plays the role well at all, I think she just rode the coat tails of a popular well written character and really doesn't have any talent of her own. Before I stopped watching that show because they ran out of source material I used to routinely cringe at how bad she was while trying to be overly dramatic in some scenes. Her presence in a movie instantly makes me think it's going to be terrible.

"well folks it's preseason for everyone" Rod Black, probably.

It really shows what Jones is all about, the stubborn pride and failure to admit mistakes. Also shows that image matters more than anything else.
-
and I probably do. It's a very American style of broadcasting and I hate how it's seeped into Canada.
