  1. I'm OK with letting Brown go if Streveler is the guy to take the reigns. Either way it's incumbent on the coaches to realize when Zach needs some sideline time. WHen he's in a funk he rarely pulls himself out of it anymore.
  2. Ford had some ups and downs but I suspect time will be very kind to him as the year goes on. Defense was mostly pretty solid until the end when they just gave up because it was clear the offense was never going to to anything to get back into it. Mitchell had a nice opening return then fumbled and just completely went walkabout for the rest of the game. If you do one thing as a returner just field the kick cleanly, he couldn't even get under the kicks as the game went on. Fail. Offense... what a load of crap. Better to be punched in the mouth now than when it's too late.
  3. oh he will be better than tonight. He was not even in the right time zone on most of his throws. That will be better and they will make some plays as the rust comes off (and it wasn't just him, Schoen, Demski, Lawler, Wolitarsky... did any of those guys actually play in preseason? They all looks largely like ****). The things that concern me about Collaros is that he came in and made hay on the intermediate routes but teams are not giving him that and he sucks at short throws and he doesn't seem to be as accurate on the longer throws as he used to be. I have maintained that the key for this year is lots of Streveler to take some pressure off Collaros. I understand why they gave Collaros time tonight to get over it... but going forward we need to let Streveler pass too because it's better for the offense as a whole. the quarterbacking was so bad tonight it sucked the life completely out of the whole team.
  4. there were a few of us who said it. Now I think most of tonight was squarely on not playing in preseason for most of the offensive starters, but yeah Collaros has seen some really concerning aspects creep into his game last season and tonight. We got Streveler for a reason, use him if collaros is sucking the hind teet
  5. Doesn't help that it's a late spring either.
  6. Season starting earlier likely the biggest culprit. And no preseason games on tsn. Will take a while for people to realize that oh yeah, it's summer and cfl is back
  7. Trick question, there are no backups, they're all starters. Just as Mike O'Shea
  8. As much as they talk about new season, last year means nothing blah blah blah, you know that this ad is embarrassed and angry about what happened. Cody better be praying hard or he might just get to meet Jesus tonight.
  9. Really if you want another DE on the roster then one of the DTs comes off simple as that.
  10. To be honest I think you are so conditioned to be critical at this point you're being unreasonable. We got 2 ends, we got 2 DTs as backups with enough athletic ability to swing outside and take some snaps there. Not going to cripple the team for one game. Last year we gave snaps to Bennett and Jackson who couldn't accomplish ****. This year is not the same IMO just because they actually kept some athletic types on the DL.
  11. Is burning them out a concern? If one of WJ or Haba goes down you still have Adams and Woods and whatever other linebackery type options you want to use to keep guys from being totally bagged... they have like 7 or 8 defensive linemen on the roster, an in game loss won't cripple things.
  12. If they feel the tackles are athletic enough to handle it... I dunno it's not the worst thing in my mind.
  13. Holding off for garbutt to be healthy and Bennett to get here?
  14. I look at the roster and don't really see anyone who is complete dead weight so that's an improvement from last season.
  15. Ok having seen the depth chart now... 100% that is MOS trolling and "starting" 10 Canadians because he can. All those guys will take reps.
  16. I guess my point is that Jackson was a useless body... at least the guys on the roster now aren't useless regardless of the starter/backup distinction. Guys will take meaningful reps, contribute on special teams, whatever. Jackson played but didn't do **** not even on teams.
  17. Well not much else to complain about these days. First world problems
  18. Disagree because in theory your backup pieces can step in and contribute... which Jackson couldn't do in any aspect.
  19. Murphy has not been talked about nearly enough. His actions are every bit as bad as Kelly's. In this day and age you can not sweep this under the rug and fire people bringing this up to you.
  20. Tricky part is as a head coach he was also the oc... and his offenses there were most certainly not near the top of the league.
  21. He is a better head coach than he is oc if you ask me.
  22. Yeah lapos bug weakness as a coach is his offensive playcalling. Dude knows football, he just doesn't know when to go for it and when to play it safe. Down by 2 scores with little time left is the best lapo. Up by 2 scores with half a game left is worst lapo.
  23. You can drop the guys with absolutely no chance and still have new faces in the mix for work you know...
