  1. The States have been letting the Saudis off the hook for ages regardless, Trump is just the most blatant about it.
  2. my issue is that Paul Lapolice is a loser.
  3. me? I've been in Nichols corner all year, if you're going to try and talk **** at least get the facts right.
  4. BLM wasn't playing any better than Nichols on Sunday but his offense scored some touchdowns. It's not always on the qb.
  5. Thank god you're not in charge.
  6. obviously Chiarelli is on the hot seat too, but let's not absolve Mclellan of blame when there are some clear things he doesn't do well. Guy doesn't line match at all, Mcdavid gets the toughest matchups at home and away, he blew that Calgary game on the weekend by sticking with the "protection" of Lucic on the top line and Kassian on the second line even when the Flames stopped trying to win a physical game. Just no adaptations at all. His only strategy when coaching is put McDavid and Draisaitl together and hope they win the game. I think the roster has more to give than they were getting out of it because we've seen shittier rosters have better results. I want to see what a new coach does with this group. If we're being totally honest they really should have just kept Todd Nelson when they hired Chiarelli, that guy got the best out of his players.
  7. because I have seen Lapolice's body of work for many many years in the CFL? We took away his play calling in 2002 because it sucked, we fired him in 2012 because his offense did just enough to lose close games. It's the same crap here with different players each and every time. I think Lapolice is capable of being great, but he doesn't have a good enough instincts to really be great all the time.
  8. I don't think he was vacating the pocket early to be honest. The Stamps did do a good job pressuring the interior of the line and when Nichols took off to scramble it was when he didn't have options to throw to, so he scrambled and had no options either. The Stamps didn't have to think at all on D. Everything the Bombers did was telegraphed. I watched Harris get some of the hardest 3-5 yards ever because there was no misdirection, nothing they hadn't seen before a million times. The game plan for the Bombers was play it safe and hope for the best and that is unacceptable. Nichols is taking the blame for Lapo's shitty day.
  9. Because they treated that game like a playoff game and wanted to win it.
  10. Calgary. Mitchell missed a lot of throws out there too and he got sacked a bunch. Now trade offensive coordinators and Winnipeg blows Calgary out of the water.
  11. That's right it was 4-1 for Nichols not 4-0, but still, I think you are selling him short because let us not forget what Streveler did vs. Hamilton the week before Nichols came back. 146 yards passing. For all the numbers this offense put up it still didn't put up big passing numbers and I know some of you like to blame the qbs, but it's very clearly two fold: Lapo and lack lustre receivers. Hell our receivers might actually be better than I give them credit for but this offense no matter who was behind centre didn't put up many passing yards in general. Even when Streveler kicked the piss out of the als he was under 300 yards passing. Nichols is a better qb than he was allowed to show this year.
  12. when he scrambled guys weren't open. Trust me I was in the stands I saw it, there is a reason he threw those balls away. It was a horsecrap passive gameplan and it's overly simplistic to blame the qb.
  13. That's just the easy answer though. You actually look at that team and you can see that while the roster may be imperfect, there is more there than the coaches were getting. Case in point, last year everyone blamed the poor PP on Woodcroft. He was the assistant who had that job so makes sense right? Except the PP looks like the same crappy thing in Edmonton this year while Woodcroft looks like a revelation as the AHL head coach this season including a dangerous PP. Meanwhile the assistant coach the Oilers hired from Swift Current who supposedly is a bright PP mind isn't even being talked to about the PP. Mclellan isn't a horrible coach, but he is a horrible fit in Edmonton and the results speak for themselves. Especially when you consider the obvious disconnect between GM and coach on the roster.
  14. Did you go to the game? He didn't have a lot of options to throw to in that situation. This is on Lapo more than anyone. Yeah Nichols didn't have a great game, he missed some guys, had some drops, but you know what? Calgary dealt with the same things from their qb and receivers, the difference was they gave their qb a chance to make plays. Lapo didn't. Lapo tried to let Andrew Harris win the game all by his lonesome against the top team against the run. The guy is a smart man and understands offense in the CFL, but he is horrible at judging how a game is going and calls an infuriating game more times than not. He is capable of being great, but too often he is his own worst enemy.
  15. No the parallel is there. It was the same refusal to try and up the offensive game when it was clear that it was needed. Yes they're different teams in different places, but it was the same thing from Lapolice. I get it in 2011, but not this year, but he did the same thing. Expect the D to bail him out and hope that not making a mistake is enough to win. Doesn't work that way when you're playing top teams in the CFL.
  16. Maybe on Peterman or Simonise, lots to be seen on those guys yet but not Demski. Dressler is a tough little dude and Demski avoids contact like the plague.
  17. Totally. You play not to lose against Saskatchewan that's one thing, but even when he plays poorly Mitchell isn't going to hand you a game. You need to beat a team like the Stamps in all phases. We have a team that is capable of doing that but Lapolice crippled the offense with the passiveness.
  18. Didn't we win that game? in fact Nichols went 4-0 when he came back from injury didn't he? Hard to see where you're coming from here. Nichols slump happened in late august/september.
  19. Didn't we win that game? in fact Nichols went 4-0 when he came back from injury didn't he? Hard to see where you're coming from here. Nichols slump happened in late august/september.
  20. Bombers will lose people, everyone will, difference between the Bombers and Riders is that the Bombers have depth.
  21. what mclellan? He needed to go. his only coaching was throwing McDavid over the boards and hoping he'd do everything. when your PP sucks ass with McDavid, Draisaitl and Nugent-Hopkins on it it's pretty clear the coaches aren't doing their jobs.
  22. I mean we do need an upgrade at our american receivers, but Lapo is by fair the bigger problem.
  23. In the game because the defense was ******* good. They got 2 points on a safety, they forced a turn over deep in our own end (which we promptly punted back) and kept giving the offense chance after chance after chance, which Lapo refused to take. That's how it's similar, not in the score, but in the fact that the offense had the exact same mentality. "Don't **** up and let the defense win the game for us" It's the reason we fired Lapo last time. Same **** different year.
  24. And the Bombers kicked a 57 yard field goal and then another field goal in the first quarter and the stamps dominated the rest of the game. It was exactly the same kind of game. Ultra passive offensively waiting for the defense to win it, same as 2011. It's what Lapo does. For all the smarts the guy has he calls an absolute **** game most of the time.
